258 Getting Caught The yard is empty and quiet.

From what it looks like, the whole area is not just abandoned, but even off the power grid. Twilight brushes a bloody orange on the edge of the sky, and instantly the buildings turn dark with no light anywhere. Like a monster on its stomach, mouth open for prey.

She tries to look for an emergency phone, which might still be on, but if Sebastian already tried to call the police, then that wouldn't help anyone. She can try to sneak out of the area and look for help once she makes it. But at the moment... She has no one except Silco to turn to, and she is not even sure if that's not delivering herself back into the mouth of the monster.

Or, she can try to get out Sebastian and Authur on her own. The hardest, and the most unlikely. There is no car in the yard, but they couldn't have chere on foot. Their cars must be somewhere, and if she could start any of them...

She barely remembers how to start a car without a key from the one-tsearch online. She's not even sure if she could do that with modern cars. But this is her best shot.

Sneaking to the window of the main warehouse and hiding under it, Scar looks through the glass as stealth as she can, only to freeze when she sees clear of the inside of the room-- Sebastian is in the center of the room, surrounded by four men. His hand holding a baseball bat is bleeding. Blood dripping from his frim wrist. Panting heavily, the man is under extrpain and stress, but his hand is not shaking. The bat is like his sword, marking out a death circle that alarms his opponents.

But the peace-on-thin-ice is only temporary.

The thugs are not making a move on him only because they know full well that Sebastian can only take down one of them at a time, and they all want the others to be that unlucky one.

Tis on the thugs' side, and their best shot is the car.

Scar sneaks to the right end of the warehouse and sticks her head out. Ten feet away, maybe twenty. The front yard is right across the narrow way between the two houses, and in the middle of it, two cars. Aiming at the older-looking car, Scar charges forward as fast as she can.

The older type has a higher chance for her to use the old jump starting. Once got into the car, Scar gave her about 15 seconds before someone would hear the noise and cfor her. So long as she-- "Ahhhh!" Scar bursts intoa scream when a guy jumps out from the side of the building, blocking her way into the front yard. Totally didn't see that coming, Scar dashes right into his arms.

"Let go of me!" Scar struggles back, kicking and drawing around to try to keep the guy away. The guy is not terrified by her inefficient struggle at all. He smashes his bat into the wall, making a loud thud. It's quite certain that if that hit landed on Scar, she would have a broken bone by now.

The man is not in a haste, teasing Scar as he comes closer slowly: "Here, kitty, kitty..." In the man's vicious laugh, Scar turns around and dashes forward, trying to get back into the backyard At least she could hide there for a moment. But they won't let her this time. Her scream broke the peace in the warehouse, triggering a string of load shouts, footsteps, and smashing sounds.

"Get her!" The man behind Scar shouts.

Two men charged out of the warehouse, tightly on her tail.

Choosing this worst morst moment Scar steps on a sharp rock and falls to her side. The guy raises the bat in his hand, laughing viciously at her. Scar closes her eyes to embrace the pain, but it doesn't land-- Somehow, Sebastian got out of the warehouse, and he just knocked the guy to the side, rolling on the ground.

"Run! Back to that workshop!" The man shouts at her before he can even get up himself.

Scar dares not to hesitate. A clear direction helps in such a nerve-wracking moment because she doesn'tweed to think to follow it. If he told her to run anywhere else, she would be lost. Dashing through the door, Scar turns around to look for him, tears brimming her eyes.

Sebastian is right behind her with a bat in his hand. His white shirt was all grey now with dirt and blood. On his NO lips a fresh cut with bruises around it.

Probably left by a heavy punch. "I'm sorry!"
