The tornado of black flames that had formed silently around her as she spun in the air instantly responded to her will.
Without any earth shattering sound of any sort, they swept out of the Jessica’s body in endless waves of black flames!
It was a good thing all of Elliot’s beasts were huddling near the tower, because starting from ten meters out, every single thing was being incinerated!
All the grass were burnt to ashes within a split second and the very ground itself caught fire as the ferocious black flames consumed everything in its path as it surged towards the bats in a terrifying blast.
All the energy that the black phoenix had absorbed earlier had been converted into dark fire energy and was feeding the Darklight Flame Apocalypse with near Hegemon level energy.
“Frosty, use your freezing field, damn it. I’m about to become a fried bird here!” Red complained loudly.
“Fried chicken, you mean.” Jennifer giggled. “Fried chicken is the best!”
“I am not a chicken, young lady. I am a glorious, murderous elemental-“
“Chicken.” Khellendra and Khalendros said loudly with perfect timing, and caused the whole group to laugh.
“Fine! Bully me more! One day, I’ll leave for good and all of you will end up missing me and my friendly, fun, cheerful voice and you’ll ask me to come back and guess what? I won’t! I would be off having a good time talking to other…”
“Chickens.” This time, it was Khellendra, Jennifer and Winter who shouted in unison.
They all roared with laughter once more.

He was always being teased by his comrades! Thankfully he had extremely thick skin, so he shrugged off their teasings as though they were nothing.
“I would like to remind you that if I am a chicken, then so is the one who is producing all the flames right now. We both share the same avian blood. Ha! I dare you all to say that SHE is a chicken!” Red shouted back at them.
The rest of them merely laughed but didn’t say anything. Who had the guts to call their master’s precious little sister a chicken??
“Ha! Nothing to say? Cowards!” Red shot back at them with great satisfaction. “And Frosty! Your freezing field please! Don’t be stingy now!”
“My freezing field is active.” Frosty said calmly.
“And so is my frost domain.” Elliot added mildly with a smile. “I haven’t used my Cosmic Dragon Energy to power it though. I don’t want to freeze you all to death in the middle of a sea of flames. That would be so ironic.”
“What?? It’s still this hot with two frost domains in effect?” Red cried out. “What’s with your sister, pip? She’s too strong!”
“Hmmmm. Yes, Jessica’s black flames are indeed very overbearing. Let’s see if its enough to deal with the entire second wave!” Elliot said as he eagerly watched the first ring of black flames impact the huge flock of bats.
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
The high pitched screams of the bats grew louder and changed in quality as they changed from battlecries to deathcries.
Jessica’s black flames weren’t simple gaseous fire which could be blown away with enough force.
Her flames were more like sticky napalm which burned upon near liquid energy that would stick to anything and everything they touched.
The bats had no way to resist her flames, and could only helplessly (and obliviously for the bats behind) accept the incoming flames.
Ring after ring after ring of searing hot black flames rippled over the gigantic flock of bats and gave each and every one of them a good, solid hug.
And didn’t let go.
It was a glorious sight to see for Elliot, Jennifer and his beasts!
Two massive black masses, one flame one flesh collided in a spectacular display.
And in the process, the darkness underneath the bats was actually driven away. It was completely dispelled by the light of the bats which had ALL caught fire!
And very soon, the first few bats began to fall.
Or rather, the first few bat remains, began to fall.
Plop!
Plop! Plop!
And after the first ones fell, the rest followed along in a big hurry.
Ploploploploploploploploploploploploppoplop!
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAbove the tower, Jessica could feel huge amounts of dark and fire energy circulating within her body furiously in a preset pattern before exiting as rings as sticky black flames.
Her mastery of seven epic runes had given her a rudimentary understanding of how spells work, and her eyes widened in wonder as she realized that the preset patterns which the dark and fire energies were following were actually parts of runes!
“My dark energy was following a pattern that looks like it means… sticky. And my fire energy was following a pattern that is definitely “burn”.
And… both are actually following a larger preset pathway!
Just like the earth and moon which spins within their own axis, the fire and dark energies are tracing their own semi runes.
But also like the earth and moon which spins around the sun together, the fire and dark energies are also tracing a larger semi rune!
And that semi rune actually carries a meaning… radiate!
So that’s how it works!
The mini runes determine the quality and form of the spell product, and the larger rune they follow determine the action!
Oh my god, this is so cool!”
Jessica was so engrossed with processing her new understanding of her spell that she didn’t realize that she had killed almost every single bat out there.
It was only a minute later when the notification rang out that she awakened from her enlightening daze.
[Third Wave – Rabid Orguls]
“Hmmmmm? The bats are gone? But I haven’t even exerted half my strength!” Jessica frowned. She shifted her gaze to the ground and tried to look for the Rabid Orguls.
In the distance, just outside her farthest ring, blue frog-like monsters appeared out of nowhere and began hopping towards them rapidly.
However, Jessica merely redirected her rings of black flames downwards and started to burn them all up as well!
