Eisen quickly read through the notification before waving it away to the side. He looked at the twop souls in front of him and crossed his arms with a slight grin on his face. This was the perfect task for him, really.
It seemed like the two souls themselves were a bit unsure about it still, but Eisen figured it wouldn’t hurt to continue offering.
"Come on, just let me do it! And instead of just a weapon, I’ll make you two a full set of gear! I’m a craftsman, it’s what I do." The old man said with a grin on his face, and the two souls looked back at him surprised.
"A craftsman? I mean... I guess there’s not all that many of those around here, right?" The male soul asked as he turned toward the female one, and she slowly nodded her head in response, "That’s true... I guess it might be a good idea. But just so ya know... Neither of us have any money."
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"Don’t worry, I don’t need any money. I’ll do it for free." Eisen explained, although this made the woman a bit suspicious of the old man’s intentions. Noticing this in her expression, Eisen just started to laugh, "You’re on the right track, I’m not some overly kind old man. There is a reason I’m doing this, it’s to be acknowledged by Gonor for a quick audience with him."
"Ah..." The man raised his brows in response to Eisen’s explanation, "That would make sense, I guess? I’ve heard of some living people coming to the divine realms to be acknowledged by the gods."
It seemed like the woman was still a little bit suspicious, and Eisen didn’t really blame her for it either. It was a pretty weird situation that didn’t happen every day, after all.
But without further ado, Eisen waved his hand to the side and quickly opened up his item storage. He quickly stepped inside and grabbed one of the portable-house keys that were hanging on the wall, and then stepped back out.
It was a bit different in Trygan’s realm, since fulfilling the wish of the souls there, more often than not, wasn’t connected to materialism, so he didn’t always have to craft something. And even if he did, it was never something all that crazy, so it was finished rather quickly.
This time around, it would probably take a little while longer to get the acknowledgement of this particular god, considering that Eisen had to make full gear for 10 people. It was more straightforward, but it required a lot more time than the task in Trygan’s realm.
Eisen stretched his hand out forward and poured his mana into the key before starting to twist it around and pulling it out of the lock. A few moments later, when the front wall of the building had finished being constructed, Eisen pulled the door open and stepped inside.
"Please, come in. It’s a littel bit messy right now, but you know how it is." The old man explained as he stepped through the front room of his portable shop. He walked around his counter and then sat down on the stool right behind it, leaning onto it with his arms as the two souls somewhat nervously followed. They really didn’t expect a building like this to just sprout out the ground out of nowhere.
"Whoa... Did you make all these weapons..? And tools? And Armor?" The man asked curiously with his eyes wide open. Eisen simply chuckled, "So I did, yes. If you see anything you’re interested in, just let me know and I’ll make you something similar. My task is to make full gear for you, after all, that includes smaller things like throwing knives or potions if necessary."
The woman scoffed a bit in response as she looked at the items lined up along the walls and the different shelves standing around the room, "Right, what kinda craftsman can make all of these different things? Unless you’ll admit to being a Jack of all trades... and if that’s the case, sorry, I don’t need a Jack to make gear for me."
With a light smile on his face, Eisen returned the piercing glare of the female soul before he started to laugh loudly, "I am indeed someone of all trades, but by no means am I a Jack. I guess for me, you could say I’m a ’master of all trades, jack of none’."
"Heh, right. Who’d you think you are to claim that title for yourself? A craftsman like you should know that there’s only one man that has ever truly lived up to it."
Out of nowhere, Eisen felt shivers all over his body. It felt like something jolting him awake, as knowledge he wasn’t aware of passed into his mind. But it was just rough knowledge, not a memory yet directly. But it would seem like it was the kind of thing that would let Eisen remember part of himself.
"Well, of course I do. The Master of all trades, Eisen."
"So you must also know that you’re practically impersonating that Eisen right now? Isn’t that like a sin to you craftsmen?" The woman asked with a deep frown, and the old man just chuckled slightly, "What makes you think I’m impersonating him?"
"What..? I think we just established that, ’Master of all trades’ is the title that Eisen’s been given, and you trying to claim that for yourself is basically you saying that you’re him."
"Oh, I am saying that I’m him, but I’m not impersonating him." The old man admitted, and the woman stared back at Eisen with a slight glare, "Right, screw off. My dad’s a great craftsman that was even let into the heaven of the God of Craftsmanship. Through him, even I know how disrespectful it is to act that way. I-"
"Young lady, I think you’re the one that’s being a bit disrespectful. You realize where we are, right? In the divine realm of the God of Combat. You think a simple craftsman would be able to get here so easily? Either way, this should be proof enough that I’m good at what I do, and you’d let up a chance like that so easily?" Eisen asked with a frown, "Seriously, the souls in Trygan’s realm were much calmer and more collected than you. Like that other kid there. You don’t need to be so mad, you know?"
Eisen pointed over at the male soul standing next to the woman, who was just staring back at Eisen with a glare, "It’s called being passionate." The woman said with what was practically a growl in her voice before turning back around, "Fine, show me what you can do. You said we don’t have to pay you anyway, so why not?"
"Good." Eisen said with a smirk on his face, "Then let’s get started."
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe old man took a deep breath and waved his hand to the side, causing two figures to suddenly appear right next to him beside the Angel Ambriel that had already been standing at the side of the room, watching everything unfold.
One of them was a thin, short, pure-white figure with an androgynous appearance, and the other was... basically the opposite. It was a tall demonic figure with rock for skin and glowing golden flames peeking out from underneath the cracks in its skin. It had large horns on its head and two wings on its back.
"You two, can you get started on setting everything up?" Eisen suggested as he pressed his hand onto the wall behind him, quickly creating the item storage in an area perfectly meant for it, and without a moment’s hesitation, the living ego-tool and the elemental spirit got to work on preparing for work.
"And Bai, don’t you dare eat any of the tools scattered around here, you hear?" The old man said, and the short, pure-white figure slowly nodded its head, "Okay~..."
And then, Eisen turned back toward the people standing in front of the counter, "Now, let’s get started with things like weapons and consumables first. What do you two usually use to fight?"
Since the woman was still a bit hesitant, the man quickly went ahead and explained his situation first. Like Eisen thought, he was used to fighting using daggers and a high number of consumables, as well as different tricks and tactics.
In front of him, Eisen created an image with his visualization skill so that he could fine-tune the appearance of the items depending on this soul’s wishes. After speaking about the two daggers that the soul wanted, the old man also asked him about some things like throwing-knives, smoke-bombs, and potions. He seemingly had quite a large number of different items that he wanted, while his armor would be quite minimalistic. It wouldn’t have high defense, but would allow him to move easily while keeping his smaller items on him at all times.
Seeing this, the woman just scoffed a bit, "Hah, what’s that supposed to be? That’s not the gear of a real fighter! Looks like more of a trickster to me!"
Not minding her at all, the man kept looking at Eisen and said, "Nonetheless, both of us are here in this divine realm just the same. Ah, you don’t need all that decoration, let’s just keep it simple. I might end up losing this in one of the arenas anyway, so I don’t want to give you extra work for nothing." The man said with a wry smile, and Eisen just looked at him while shaking his head.
"Don’t worry, it’s no problem at all. I have all the time in the world, so just tell me what you’d want it to look like." Eisen replied reassuredly, and the man smiled back and nodded his head.
"Thank you."
And so, Eisen gathered all the information that he needed on this particular soul and the items that he wanted, before he moved on to the other soul, "So, what about you? What do you want me to make for you?"
With a slight grumble, the woman started to explain her sort of weapon, and like Eisen had somewhat expected, it was a greatsword specifically meant to violently rip through the armor and flesh of enemies. It seemed rather brutal, but in the end, it’s what she wanted so he Eisen didn’t say no. The rest of her items were rather normal, just regular plate armor and some potions, so the old man figured that he could just get started now.
