Chapter 273
Bailey was just about to put her right foot into the room when she heard waves of greetings traveling
into her ears.
She instinctively stopped in her tracks and scanned the room.
Artemis, check. Dwayne, check. Justin, check. And that seductive-looking woman... Wait, no, he's a
man. Okay. I know Sylvester, too. I don't recognize the other two apart from these four... Hold on, that's
not true. I know that man sitting in the corner. Micah Neyman...
A cold, murderous intent flooded Bailey's gaze. In the next second, she disappeared in a flash and
pounced on Micah.
Her dagger glinted as Bailey charged at Micah's face. It was a fatal move.
The room's lively atmosphere fell into a pin-drop silence all of a sudden.
Looks of puzzlement flashed across the eyes of Artemis and the others. Never did they expect Bailey
to exude such a murderous aura upon entering the room.
“A-Artemis, w-what did Micah do to offend Bailey?” Sylvester stammered.
Artemis did not answer. Instead, an unfathomable look filled his narrowed eyes as he watched the duo
tangle in a fight.
Bailey was not the type who would take the initiative to challenge someone to a fight.
Her agitation and murderous aura meant that she and Micah had a bad history with each other. Even
worse, it was a deep-rooted blood feud.
In the blink of an eye, both of them had exchanged dozens of strikes, yet there was still no winner.
As Micah counterattacked, he frowned and asked, “May I know in what way I have offended you? What
did I do to make you so mad? If I remember correctly, this is our first encounter with each other, right?”
Our first encounter? Hah! I'd recognize you even if your body has turned to ashes. This is the man who
made Shannon and Eugene flee to the ends of the earth. In the end, Eugene died...
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThe scene of Eugene lying on the operating table and drenched in blood appeared in her mind. It was a
heart-wrenching sight.
She had sworn to herself countless times that she would bring the vicious man to Eugene's grave,
make him kneel before it, and beg for forgiveness.
Shannon, however, was tired of being tortured. Hence, she was constantly in fear that Micah would find
her.
To keep Shannon's whereabouts a secret, Bailey had no choice but to suppress the horrifying
memories of the past.
She had not been looking for him for the past few years. The timing could not be better now that he had
appeared before her.
I'm going to kill him today.
Noting something was amiss, Artemis quickly sprang to his feet. “Micah, I'm going to skin you if you
harm a hair on her head.”
Micah snorted in exasperation upon hearing his best friend's words.
What the h*ll? Can't you see who's the one trying to kill the other? Hah! Sworn brother, my foot. I'm the
first person he's treating like sh*t once he has a girlfriend. D*mn it!
Justin stood up and asked Artemis, “This is weird. Have you heard of anything about Micah offending
Bailey in the past?”
Knitting his brows, Artemis said grimly, “She has so many identities. How on earth would I know if
Micah had offended her before?”
Sylvester stepped forward and blabbered, “Judging from the way they're fighting, it's either they've
killed someone's family member or... I say, do you guys think Micah failed to keep control of a certain
part of his and made Bailey—”
Before he could even finish, a wine bottle came flying at him.
“Oh, f*ck!” Sylvester hurriedly backed away and stopped spouting nonsense.
While they were busy discussing the event, the duo had exchanged hundreds of strikes.
The balance of the fight was finally broken. Bailey was gradually faltering, not because her attacks
were weaker than Micah's, but because of the difference in strength between both genders.
Worried Bailey might injure herself if she continued fighting, Artemis rushed forward and stood between
them.
With just three moves, he managed to part the duo, whose eyes were bloodshot from the fight. He then
reached out and held Bailey tight in his arms.
He was stunned to see her reddened and bloodshot eyes.
“Let me go!” Bailey swung her hand and gave Artemis a slap.
However, Artemis did not stop her or avoid it. He just accepted it silently.
A loud slap echoed in the air.
Sylvester rubbed his nose and nudged Dwayne in the arm, asking softly, “What are they like when
they're alone? Does Ratemis get beaten up by Bailey all the time?”
Dwayne rolled his eyes at Sylvester and said snarkily, “Follow them all the time, and you'll get your
answer.”
Bailey finally snapped back to her senses as soon as the slap landed on Artemis' face.
She stopped struggling and panted in Artemis' embrace. In a frosty tone, she questioned, “Who is he to
you?”
Artemis frowned. After much contemplation, he said, “My sworn brother. Of course, I can make him
kneel and beg for your forgiveness if he has offended you in any way.”
Everyone else exchanged glances.
So, this is how you coax a woman, eh? He's willing to sacrifice his sworn brother just to calm his
partner down. Very well. Ratemis is truly a jerk who loves his partner.
Looking grim, Micah glanced at Bailey and asked solemnly, “Ms. Jefferson, what did I do to offend
you?”
Before Bailey could speak, Artemis threw Micah a kick. “Be more respectful to Bailey.”
Micah's lips twitched in annoyance. D*mn it. What's the point of being a sworn brother?

To everyone's surprise, Bailey snickered before raising her graceful brows. She teased, “You've got
great skills. Not only am I not your opponent, but I even lost to you. Let me introduce myself. I'm Bailey
Jefferson. You are?”
Six confused faces stared at the scene in a daze, unable to process what they had just heard.
Hold on, Bailey. So you don't actually know him? Then why were you attacking so furiously just now?
Bailey lowered her gaze and dismissed the murderous intent in her eyes.
I was too rash just now. I want and need to kill him, but I can't let him know I'm doing it because of
Shannon.
Artemis repressed the puzzlement in his heart and spoke to the woman in his arms. “He's Micah
Neyman. He's the one who brought Kayden back to the country. With Kayden in our possession, you
can make him testify against Cadence.”
Bailey looked at Artemis in confusion.
He had not mentioned anything when he phoned to tell her to make a trip to the private room on the
highest floor of Aurora Club. She never expected the person in charge of Dyke Pharmaceutical had
been captured.
“Is that so? Well, thank you very much, Mr. Neyman. If I remember correctly, you're the public front for
the head of the world's most powerful organization, Tarragon, right?”
As for the true head behind the scenes, she had no idea. She had zero leads despite many years of
investigation.
Her words left all the men in the room shocked.
Tarragon is a top-secret organization, and Micah's identity is even more secretive than that. How does
this woman know about it?
Bailey could not help but smirk inwardly when she saw the bewilderment on their faces.
The reason Bailey knew about all that was all thanks to Shannon, of course. She was the one who told
Bailey all about it.
Micah was the man whom Shannon had shared a bed with before. In fact, she had even given birth to
a son for him. Hence, she knew a little about his identity.
