Chapter 374

Larissa’s eyelids had been twitching since she woke up in the morning on the day of Cody and Lana’s

wedding. She felt a sense of unease, as if something was about to happen. It was to the extent that

she made two mistakes while absentmindedly filling out a report. leading to a scolding from the deputy

general manager who was temporarily handling the hotel affairs in place of Edmund.

The wedding officially started at 11 am. So, she sneakily scrolled through Twitter for a while. There

were blurry photos taken by undercover journalists on the Intemet capturing the silhouettes of the bride

and groom. After about half an hour, her phone suddenly rane. It was Dylan.

Dylan rarely called her during work hours, so she was startled, and her heart started beating laster

involuntarily. When she answered the call her hands trembled. But before she could even speak, she

heard Dylan urgently say, “Something happened to Kevan!”

Her mind went blank in that instant, and she didn’t know how long it took for her to find her voice. “W-

What happened?”

Her throat felt extremely dry, perhaps due to dehydration.

“I’m going to the hotel to find you now. I’ll fill you in later.”

He immediately hung up the phone, and she felt as if all her strength had been drained away. She

slumped into her office chair. The words on the computer screen appeared to be double-elched.

Dylan’s words kept echoing in her ears, making her restless and unable to find any relief.

Fortunately, Dylan arrived quickly. She hurriedly packed her things and went downstairs as soon as she

received his call When she got in the car, he reminded her to ask for leave from the deputy general

manager. His car then turned onto the freeway.

“There was an accident at the wedding. Kevan was seriously injured and has been taken to a local

hospital for treatment.” Dylan tried to make his voice sound calm, but there was still a slight tremor in it.

Larissa’s vision went black. “What kind of accident can happen at a wedding?” She couldn’t imagine

what had happened: the small island was a popular tourist destination, and in all these years, there had

been no natural disasters or accidents. So, what kind of “accident” could Kevan possibly be in to be

seriously injured?

“Well, the news on the island is currently sealed ott. Kevan’s assistant didn’t give me any specific

detalls, just asked me to come over. I didn’t dare to inform his parents. I’m bringing you there in case

there are any surgical procedures requiring an immediate lamily member’s

consent.”

Dylan gripped the steering wheel tightly, pressing the accelerator to the maximum, overtaking the cars

in front of them one after another. She knew that Kevan’s parents didn’t attend the wedding. She

overheard Kevan’s phone call with his mother, where his mother said that as long as he dared to bring

Ruby with him, she and her husband would never go. Nonetheless, Kevan still brought Ruby along.

Since there were no direct flights, Larissa and Dylan had to travel to the capital of Indie.sana first, the

country to which the small island belonged, and then took a boat from the port to the island. They

arrived on the Island a day later after all the has sle. Luckily, Dylan had contacted Kevan’s assistant in

advance, and the assistant sent a car to pick them up at the dock, taking them directly to the hospital

where Kevan was staying.

Indieloana was a backward country, and its public infrastructure, including hospitals, fell below the

international average-this included

the hospital.

The largest hospital on the island was only comparable to a small county hospital. Larissa became

even more anxious when she saw the rundown building. Dylan wasn’t laring any better. They both

quickened their pace and went up to the top floor’s ward.
