Chapter 403
Their enthusiastic greetings startled Larissa, causing her to develop a splitting headache.
Aster clung to Larissa’s clothes, shrinking back into the car behind her.
With a polite smile, Larissa nodded to them in acknowledgment.
“Hello, everyone.”
Maintaining her aloof demeanor, she helped Aster out of the car and entered the hotel amidst the
onlookers curious gazes.
“Do we have a play area for children in the hotel?” she asked the assistant manager beside her.
“Yes, we do.” He nodded and turned to Aster. “Shall I have someone escort the young man to the
children’s play area?”
Larissa didn’t hesitate. “Yes, please ”
The assistant manager called over a lobby attendant. “Take the general manager’s son to the children’s
play area and take good care of him. Make sure he doesn’t get hurt, understand?”

Larissa handed Aster over to the attendant and squatted down to his level. “Have a good time playing
in the children’s play area. Call me if you need anything
Aster had a phone inside his teddy bear backpack. He knew how to operate it as he had been using it
ever since he started kindergarten,
Aster nodded obediently. “Okay.”
He followed the attendant and walked away without making a fuss.
The Winston Hotel was a five–star hotel, fully equipped with all kinds of facilities. The children’s play
area was free for hotel guests and took up an entire floor, comparable to those in shopping malls.
Aster played on the slides for some time and then with building blocks.
After the go–kart tracks were open, he watched enviously on the sidelines as other children and
their parents raced around the tracks.
“Do you want to play?” Aster heard a cheerful voice coming from above.
Aster looked up, his eyes widening in confusion. “Uncle Dylan? Why are you here?”
Dylan placed his hands on his knees and bent down.
“I happened to pass by outside and saw you standing there. You seemed eager to try.”
He glanced at the go–karts zooming by. “If you are willing, I can play with you. What do you think?”
Aster’s eyes shone with excitement, but he hesitated when he remembered his mother and
godmother’s advice. They had warned him countless times that he shouldn’t talk to strangers nor
accept anything given by them.
However, Uncle Dylan wasn’t considered a stranger, right?
“Are you my mom’s friend?” he asked Dylan.
Aster vaguely remembered hearing him mention “friend” to his mother yesterday
“Who is your mom?” Dylan asked deliberately.
Since Larissa hadn’t coordinated their stories in advance, Aster gave an honest answer. “My mom is
Larissa! The woman who was with me yesterday!”
Dylan pretended to exclaim in surprise and explained to Aster, “Oh! I used to be very good friends with
your mother. However, after she went elsewhere, our relationship wasn’t as good as before.”

However, after he moved to Manleigh, he never called me again”
He pouted, seemingly a little disappointed
Dylan gently patted Aster’s head, comforting him, “Don’t be sad. You can still be friends with Toby in
the future, just like your mom and me!”
“Is it true?” Aster blinked innocently at Dylan.
“Of course it’s true!” Dylan smiled sincerely. “So now, do you want to play with me?”
Aster completely believed that Dylan was a friend of his mom.
“Yes!” Without hesitation, he pulled Dylan’s hand and dragged him towards the go–kart tracks.
Dylan drove him around the go–kart tracks for almost half an hour until Aster complained that he felt
dizzy.
They found a place to sit down and rest.
Dylan opened a bottle of mineral water and handed it to Aster.
“By the way.” Dylan asked casually, “did you go on a business trip with your mom and leave your dad
alone at home?”
