Chapter 527
Violet told him. “It’s done.”
Once he had gone through the inheritance process, the mansion would be his, and his alone,
“Bemard’s and Felix’s families have probably conferred behind the scenes yesterday. Today, Felix
agreed to take just 5% of the shares and the rest of your grandpa’s properties. Bernard got the rest of
the shares.”
Roland held 56% of the shares in the company. Felix only taking 5% meant that he was cementing
Cody’s position as president of the company by leaving him the bigger percentage of shares.
Although Bernard’s and Felix’s families were in cahoots with each other, they frequently fought among
themselves due to their selfish natures. For Felix to agree to make such a big sacrifice meant that
Bernard’s family must have made some sort of guarantee–either that or Bernard’s family had gotten

Kevan was not interested in the reasons that made this happen. He only cared whether or not his plan
could still proceed smoothly–as long as Cody’s position did not change, he had nothing else to worry
about
In the afternoon, he went to Pine Mansion. Aher Grandpa’s funeral was over, this place became as
deserted as it used to be.
Kevan knocked on the door for a long while before someone linally came, and they were sweaty from
having run all the way.
“Y–Young Mr. Rogers the stall member panted, his speech choppy.
Kevan found it odd. “Where’s Ben?”
Normally, Ben was in charge of welcoming visitors to Pine Mansion–Alter all most visitors who came
here were usually from wealthy circles. It was only by having a butler of Ben’s station–second only to
Roland himself to welcome them that people would not feel that they have been neglected or snubbed.
The staff member looked sad. “Mr. Ben, he is packing up his things in his room.”
Kevan owned. “What for? Where is he going?”
“I heard that he wanted to go home.” the stall member said. “Old Mr. Rogers is gone now, and this
mansion is empty. None of us know what to do now Even Mr. Ben wants to leave too Sigh! Perhaps
soon everyone will be leaving this place!”
Kevan quickly stepped into the mansion and found Ben’s room.
“Ben? Are you there?”
The door creaked open, and Ben stepped out slowly. “Young Mr. Rogers?” He was very surprised when
he saw Kevan. “What brings you here?”
“I’ve inhended the mansion,” Kevan answered.
Ben froze before letting out a smile. “Oh, how fortunate indeed!” He exclaimed with somewhat teary

sleeve. “I will hand over all the keys of this place to you later.”
Histone made Kevan feel frantic for a moment.
“I heard a staff member say that you plan to go home?” Kevan asked tentatively.
“That’s right?” Ben smiled bitterly. “Old Mr. Rogers is gone, so there’s no point in me staying here
anymore. It’s better to go home and help my nephew raise his children.”
Kevan had once heard Grandpa talk about Ben–his wife passed early on, and he never remarried. He
was similar to Roland in this regard. But Ben had it worse than Roland–his wife was not able to leave
him children, which led him to be so lonely for so many years. Because of that Ben put all of his energy
and focus on taking care of Roland, who became his closest friend as well as his emotional support.
Roland’s passing was a huge blow to Ben. Kevan could understand his desire to not remain here. But-
“I hope you can stay.” Kevan gazed straight into Ben’s eyes as he spoke with sincerity. “This was not
only Grandpa’s home–it’s your home too.”
Ben froze, his mouth opening slightly even as his eyes leared up again. “Young Mr. Rogers He was so
touched that he could not speak.
