The Heavy Armored Bull's charge slowed down. However, it didn't collapse on the ground until it reached the outermost parts of the Colosseum's Arena.
Its steps grew weaker and it stumbled left and right. With the last bits of strength the Heavy Armored Bull could gather, it wildly threw its head around.
Zayn, whose left shoulder had been pierced by one of the Heavy Armored Bull's horns, was hurled through the arena.
He lost his grip on the Dragontale Twin Sabers as he was flung around like a toy. Without enough strength left in his body to roll over the arena to jump up after he had been hurled all over the place, Zayn crashed hard into the sand.
For a second or two, his mind went completely blank. His eyes were wide open and his breathing was rough. Adrenaline pumped through his veins in tidal waves but that only dulled his senses for the time being and made him be numb towards the pain. It didn't allow him to move now that he was lying on the ground.
Zayn had to collect every bit of his Willpower to ignore his hazy vision, aching head, and body. He pressed his right hand upon the ground and pushed himself up. Slowly but steadily, Zayn was getting up.
His head immediately turned over to the Heavy Armored Bull, whom he could barely make out. His vision was blurred and his mind was befuddled. However, what Zayn could see was that the Heavy Armored Bull didn't move anymore.
'The referee didn't announce the end of the battle yet!' Zayn could only think in annoyance. He grit his teeth ignored the injuries on his body and made his way to the Heavy Armored Bull, whose legs twitched one last time when Zayn arrived in front of its head before the monster's last remnants of life left its body.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThe monster's Soul Wisp emerged and Zayn grasped it in a smooth, inconspicuous motion while bending down to the ground.
He used Soul Guidance to make sure that the Soul Wisp of the Heavy Armored Bull would follow him. Soul Guidance didn't use his soul particles for something like this. It drained the ownerless soul particles of the Soul Wisp instead.
Zayn retrieved his weapons, ignoring his pain as he looked up at the walls of the Colosseum's Arena.
He looked at a middle-aged man who was calmly sitting on a chair, overseeing the entire arena. No word escape the mouth of the middle-aged man but he began to sweat when he noticed the change in the gaze of the Normie who had just overwhelmed a mighty beast.
"You foul bastard, announce the end of the battle, or I will end you!" Zayn growled, a heavy presence shrouding him as his ocean-blue eyes stared coldly in the direction of the referee.
The referee had been told to drag the result of the battle as long as possible in the worst-case scenario. The worst-case for the Colosseum was actually Zayn's victory within 60 seconds.
There hadn't been many people who had been daring enough to bet for Zayn's victory within sixty seconds, but the money they would have to pay out was the highest. The majority would have to be paid to Zayn, but he was actually not the only person who had bet their money on Zayn's victory.
Some just wanted to take the risk after Zayn had bet a fortune of close to 100 gold coins on his own victory within sixty seconds.
They had been influenced by Zayn's confidence and calm attitude. Their decision to follow in Zayn's footsteps at the Colosseum's Gambling Ceasaria was actually the best thing they could have done.
Several men and women were trembling, their eyes watery as they stared at the timer of the hourglasses that had been designated for the Colosseum's Challenges.
The referee lifted a white flag, initiating the end of the Colosseum's Challenge, which was followed by thunderous cheering…and desperate outcries.
"56 seconds….He won in 56 seconds!!"
"I am rich…MOM, DAD…LOOK AT ME!! I have succeeded!"
"My money…everything went down the hill…."
While some people were overjoyed, others were devastated. This was the usual outcome when it came to gambling.
Some would win, while the majority would end up losing everything.
Zayn didn't feel bad for them, at all. He diverted his attention from the sweating referee and took a deep breath as his body reminded him of every muscle that was hurt.
'This fucking hurts…'
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHe couldn't walk properly because his kneecap had been fractured. As for his shoulder, it was done for. Zayn couldn't even hold the Dragontale Twin Saber in his left hand without a searing pain shooting through his entire upper body.
It was quite obvious that his condition was not that great, but this didn't really matter.
He won the second Colosseum Challenge and the bet, earning him a vast fortune. If the Colosseum was not willing to use the medics to tend to his wounds, he could just visit some Medic in the city. There were more than enough of them, willing to use the healing powers they had been blessed with to tend to his wounds and money was not a problem.
After all, he would pay them generously. In exchange of enough gold, he could buy almost everything.
However, just when Zayn was about to leave the arena, he saw the outlines of a few Medics rushing over to him. They wore the familiar clothes that had been given to the Medics of the Colosseum. A small smile appeared on his face as he looked at them.
Zayn sheathed his Dragontale Twin Sabers under tremendous pain before a soothing feeling shrouded him. It warmed his skin and seeped inside his body. The soothing sensation intensified as more Medics reached him, and he could clearly feel a burning heat around his kneecap and the left shoulder. Loud crackling noises could be heard in the arena and Zayn winced in pain.
"Healing your broken bones will hurt a bit, but you shouldn't feel any discomfort after that," One of the Medics said in an emotionless, dry voice. He merely informed Zayn, who accepted it with a nod.
There was not much for him to do either way. It was already great that he didn't have to walk through the Colosseum and into the city to find a healer while in pain.
The attitude of the Medics didn't matter. He was satisfied.
'I am rich, and Manager Tilan is probably fuming in anger…perfect!"
