Chapter 402 Are You the Boss of Me?

With the current situation, there was no way for Shadow Gate or the TMAA to win against

Caspian if they were to fight him alone.

They had to join forces. Nixon did want to kill Caspian, but his mission this time was to

bring the Eldorian Scroll fragment back.

If he failed to obtain the Eldorian Scroll fragment, he would not be able to explain himself

“Let’s just destroy Caspian first. As for the Eldorian Scroll fragment, we could just have a

fair competition, right?” Gilbert laughed and said.

He would never hand over the Eldorian Scroll fragment unconditionally.

The reason Shadow Gate traveled here this time was also to search for the Eldorian Scroll

fragment.

It was common knowledge that an innate grandmaster would need to overcome certain

challenges to advance to the next level.

The only way for them to advance and become a supreme grandmaster was to obtain the

Eldorian Scroll fragment and decrypt the code.

“You have a deal!” Nixon said as he nodded.

“As long as we join forces, Caspian will be defeated!” Gilbert said excitedly.

“Let’s not celebrate it too early. Caspian’s way stronger than you think. Only the

chairman’s powers are around the same level as his. If we could get the Morrison family

from Dhord City to join forces with us, our chances of winning would be even higher!”

Nixon replied.

Gilbert looked visibly upset after hearing what Nixon had said.

Nixon noticed the change in expression and asked, “What’s wrong?”

“To be honest, I went to visit Ms. Morrison before I came here. She refuses to join forces!”

Gilbert said, feeling frustrated.

Nixon was stunned.

Gilbert was from Shadow Gate. If it were anybody else, they would have already accepted

his

offer.

How arrogant of the Morrison family!

“Forget it. Since the Morrisons refuse to join us, we’ll attack them after we get rid of

Caspian! “Gilbert said.

“It’s getting late. Let’s just carry on as discussed. I’ll make a move first,” Gilbert said

before leaving the tent.

After Gilbert had left, Nixon could not help but let out a laugh.

Shadow Gate,

Gilbert of the mighty brutally rejected came off as something surprising

to Nixon.

Gilbert heard Nixon’s laughter but did not look back. He disappeared into the night.

After Gilbert left, another figure slid into the tent.

“Greetings, Mr. Xenos!” Fabian said.

“Any updates on the task I assigned you, Fabian?” Nixon asked.

“Mr. Xenos, forgive my incompetence! Xandros, that old man, refuses to cooperate with

us!” Fabian said, feeling somewhat disconcerted

Nixon was not the least bit surprised.

He had seen this coming.

“The Stewart family is way more complicated than we imagined!” Nixon murmured.

“Mr. Xenos, should we just kill Xandros? Or launch a massacre on the Stewart family

estate?” Fabian asked.

Nixon was momentarily stunned. Fabian was even more vicious than him!

He would even harm his own family. That said, Fabian was not biologically related to them.

“There’s no need for that. Xandros is already old. He won’t be able to affect us in any way.

We should place all our attention on obtaining the Eldorian Scroll fragment.

“We shall accomplish this important task first,” Nixon said.

“Yes, sir!” Fabian answered. Now that Nixon had given his orders, Fabian did not dare to

retort.

The Stewart family estate was quiet for the next two days.

Nonetheless, the tremors were still occurring on Mount Evercloud.

Everybody was anticipating the appearance of the Eldorian Scroll fragment.

At night, the mountain shook even more violently.

The people at the TMAA cantonment were planning for their expedition to Mount

Evercloud.

“Have everyone set out for Mount Evercloud immediately.” After having rested for two

days, Nixon had almost recovered from his injuries.

At the same time, the people of Shadow Gate had started heading toward Mount

Evercloud.

Countless expert martial artists set out once more.

In a small courtyard in the mountains, Jyn was seated on a stone bench as she sipped on

some

tea.

She was unperturbed by the quakes on the mountain.

“Ms. Morrison, the other forces have all begun their hunt for the Eldorian Scroll fragment.

Shouldn’t we make a move as well?” Ginger asked with a tone of urgency.

All the other subordinates of the Morrison family were also anxious.

It was no surprise that they would want to obtain the Eldorian Scroll fragment as well.

If they were to fail this mission and return to Dhord City empty–handed, they would

definitely be punished.

However, Jyn seemed unconcerned at all, and this was making everyone anxious.

It had also taken a lot of courage on Ginger’s part to come forward and ask this question.

“Is there any news on Caspian?” Jyn asked as she lifted her head to look at Ginger.

To Jyn, nothing else mattered other than Caspian.

She only wanted to know how Caspian was doing.

Previously, the people of Shadow Gate had invited her to join forces with them to defeat

Caspian.

What a joke.

Caspian was the man of her dreams.

Ginger was dumbfounded to hear her question.

She could not understand what was so great about Caspian that Jyn was hopelessly in love

with

him.

They were here on a mission, but it seemed like Jyn couldn’t care less.

“There are no updates on Caspian. He’s still staying at the elementary school. Once there

are any updates, I’ll report to you at once!” Ginger said with utmost politeness.

“Ms. Morrison, the purpose of our expedition is to obtain the Eldorian Scroll fragment. Isn’t

“Are you the boss of me now?” Jyn questioned Ginger, visibly upset.

“I wouldn’t dare!” Ginger was startled. She lowered her head immediately.

“Don’t forget, you’re my secretary. You’re just a servant. You have no right to tell me what

I should do!” Jyn said coldly.

Ginger nodded her head and remained silent, not daring to make a sound.

She began harboring resentment toward Caspian.

Before this, Jyn had never rebuked her before. Even though she was only her secretary,

their relationship was amicable.

However, everything had changed with Caspian’s appearance.

But if she were to criticize Caspian, she would be reprimanded.

“Since you’re all so impatient, let us go, then!” Jyn said as she rose from her seat slowly

while straightening her clothes out.

The rest were relieved to hear this. It was fortunate that Jyn had not forgotten about their

mission.

Meanwhile, at the elementary school in the Stewart family estate, Caspian was leisurely

sitting inside the office.

“Everyone else has gone to snatch the Eldorian Scroll fragment. What about you? Why are

you still here?” Xandros said as he glared at Caspian.

“Take a chill pill,” Caspian said with a smile.

He was not worried that the others might obtain the Eldorian Scroll fragment.

“Mr. Stewart Senior, I heard that Fabian visited you?” Caspian asked with a casual tone.

He had done a background check on the Stewart family before. That was how he knew

about. Marilyn’s adopted grandson, Fabian.
