Chapter 599: Having Evil Friends
Roxley House, Trinity.
"Are you sure about it?" Melinda looked at Max with a frown.
"Yes, I am." Max nodded. He had naturally come to inform her about the events which had transpired earlier. She was one of the targets after all.
Melinda trusted Max, but she was still a bit skeptical as to how he managed to get close enough to eavesdrop on them. Not to mention, the fact that he for some reason didn't record them talking. To her, Max was someone witty, and he definitely wouldn't make such a mistake.
'Is there some reason that he couldn't do it?' She wondered.
She was actually right, Max first of all had used his spirit energy to hide himself. And, even with that he didn't dare to close in on them. It was just that his ears were too good. There was nothing he could do here, there was no way for him to record those people speaking. ɪꜰ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡᴀɴᴛ ᴛᴏ ʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs, ᴘʟᴇᴀsᴇ ᴠɪsɪᴛ novelenglish.net . fire(.)nᴇt
"I say, we kill them right now!" Roman was really angry, and immediately got up. He was definitely ready to kick some asses.
Ander on the other hand sat there with a dark expression. He was less expressive here, but Max could tell he was brewing with rage inside.
"Calm down, we don't have any concrete evidence. You can't just go and kill them," Melinda said with a frown. "Especially you, Ander."
They had just agreed to peace, anything could spark the feud again.
"Then what? You want me to wait for them to make a move?" Roman said with a frown.

"Why don't we just call them back!" Roman protested.
"How long do you plan on hiding them?"
"Until I catch that b*stard!" Roman replied with a terrifying look on his face.
Melinda shook her head, "We can't just steal our daughter's freedom when she hasn't even done anything wrong."
There was no way they could tell when they would find the person red handed. Does that mean that they would trap Lora in the house until then?
That was cruel to her.
"Calm down for now, there shouldn't be much to worry with the increase in security and even Ander looking after them."
Roman for some reason still couldn't sit down, and in the end left the place saying that he would go out and keep a lookout on the City while Ander went on his way as well. He was here with the motive to keep an eye on his wife, and protect her from the very start after all.
"Well then, my job is done," Max said with a smile. He was just being a kind hearted person and had come here to inform them about the dangers. "I will be taking my leave then."
"I will ask someone to be your escort." Melinda looked at Max with a serious look in her eyes. After all, according to Max's own words, he himself was in the list of targets as well.
"Nah, I will be fine." Max shook his head. He didn't like people following him around. It was certainly a bit annoying. And, he was sure that along with protection, this lady was also very much interested in his business.
"You shouldn't be acting like this. There could be dang-" Before Melinda could say anything, Max had already run away from the place leaving her speechless.
"He really is quick to pick up on things, I just hope he will be safe.." She shook her head with a sigh.
…
Orca Academy, Capital.
"Is everyone here?" Lear asked, looking around. It was time they left for Trinity for the next event.
"Where is Beli?" Eren suddenly asked, failing to see her around.
"She had some issues back at home, and left the Academy when she came out of the Competition." Rias informed everyone about it. "She told us to go ahead as she would be directly catching up to us in Trinity."
"Let's hope she does," Lear muttered with a light sigh. Getting a substitute was obviously going to be a pain if she didn't manage to come on time after all.
"Whom are we waiting for now?" Wilson suddenly asked, seeing that Lear had no plans of moving anytime soon.
"We have a new member joining us in Max's place," Lear replied with a smile on his face.
A few minutes later, a person finally arrived in front of them with a backpack.
"I hope I am not late," He said while breathing a bit heavily. It seemed that he had to ran a bit after being late on his way.

"Hello, I am Tyler Tempest. I will be joining Arcane and would do my best throughout the competition," Tyler said with a casual smile on his face.
"Welcome aboard," Axel said with a nod, and shook hands with him with light smile.
As they group went towards their bus, and Tyler tried to familiarize himself with the rest of the guys, Lear looked towards Axel, "I thought that the Headmaster was still missing, how did you got his form approved?"
"Well, I broke into his office, stole his seal and got the job done," Axel said with an evil smile on his face.
Colors immediately began to fade from Lear's face, "Are you crazy?! His admission can be cancelled! We can even be disqualified in such a situation!"
"Don't worry, didn't the Headmaster say to win the Competition at all cost? I am sure he would handle it well." Axle just laughed it out.
"Does Tyler know about it?" Lear asked with a frown. After all, that guy had left Orca and transferred to Arcane. If his admission got cancelled. He wouldn't be a student anywhere. He might even waste his year. This was definitely a huge risk on his side.
"Obviously not, do you think he would have come to us if he knew about it?" Axel asked with a smile.
Lear's face immediately turned dark. Sometimes, he felt that Wilson was just a retribution from heavens towards Axel's misdeeds. This guy was evil as well, just like Max.
Well, Max was getting retribution as well. Having his love life messed up. It was his punishment for messing Lear's love life.
On the other hand, Lear thought himself to be perfectly innocent.
'What in hell did I do wrong to get such evil friends though?' He sighed, thinking about it inwardly.
