345 Well, he is officially a wanted man.... sigh
The majesty of Foyer the warship dazzled in the background distracting people from what was happening on the podium. Twice, the future Marshal had followed another officer but each time the officer had created distance between them.
The personnel in the background didn’t pay much attention to them because everybody knew that these two were like this. It was best to stay out of their business.
Prime minister Ju walked up the stage with one of his arms neatly wrapped in gauze while waving at the crowd his face all smiles.
When he stepped on the podium he glanced at the two faces that he didn’t think he would see today and his chest felt stifled. He showed a slight smile at the pair and nodded his head slightly before facing the crowd. His glance was fleeting but it set off not only Zi Han but Igneous who wanted to come out and chop the man to pieces before burning him to ash.
“... Today we have proved that we. can. survive. The enemy tried and tried to destroy our lovely home but we. survived. All thanks to these lovely ladies and gentlemen behind me who have dedicated their lives to protect the citizens of Onyx Federation,” he said before turning his back slightly with his hand outstretched before saying, “Citizens of Loch Ness star and others abroad. Let us give them a round of applause and thank them for their service.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtEchoes of applause spread throughout the crowd and hearts were flying on the screens from those who were watching the live broadcast.
While the prime minister was looking back he accidentally met Zi Han’s eyes and suddenly felt a sense of familiarity. His heart lurched like he was about to have a heart attack.
The smile on his face stiffened before he glanced back to the audience. His face was drained of all color like he had seen a ghost. He rubbed his chest in comfort and exhaled while internally chanting, ‘He is dead... he is obviously dead. There is no need to fear.’
His ears rang and his back was covered in a layer of cold sweat down his spine. He knew Zi Han couldn’t have known that the explosions were his doing neither could he have known that he was targeted by him but he felt very uncomfortable having his back at that person.
.....
“Sir, are you alright?” asked his assistant after noticing him rubbing his chest and short of breath.
Prime minister Ju waved his hand away and repeated, “I am fine.”
Everyone knew that the prime minister had just been released from the hospital and was still recovering from his injuries thus a barrage of comments on the live broadcast wishing him a speedy recovery flooded the screens alongside messages cursing out the Marshal. The fact that none of the prime ministers in the federation had shown their faces recently added more fuel to the flames.
There were speculations of the Marshal revolting and holding their prime ministers hostage and in incidences where the prime ministers were attacked no one would have any information of what hospital they were in with the words critical condition being thrown around loosely.
Prime minister Ju continued with his speech saying, “Foyer represents the resilience of Onyx Federation. For generations, it was the symbol of the Royal family’s power but now it represents the power of the Oynx Federation and it will protect the heart of this alliance which is our beautiful home, Loch Ness star,” he continued before his assistant brought over a bottle of champagne.
“Today with you all as witnesses we will re-christen Foyer and reveal its new name which is,” he said before he turned to glance at the white sheet covering the name of the warship, “Tala...”
“What the fuck!” swore Zi Han under his breath his breathing heavy as he fumed with rage. He didn’t know the details of what sort of animosity this man had with his grandfather but this was too much. It’s enough that they plundered the warship when the Royal bloodline fell now this man right here was renaming it his mother’s name.
The Yeoh house had been infiltrated by termites and they had eaten through everything but they won’t stop until the entire name fell. They won’t stop until there is absolutely nothing left representing their legacy.
If he didn’t clean house then whose duty was it? As the only remaining heir, Zi Han felt it was his responsibility to cut off the head of the snake.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmUnable to contain his mental power anymore, it began to seep out of him its wisps gravitating towards prime minister Ju. A faint figure of a flaming phoenix projected behind Zi Han raged with a harsh cry that startled everyone.
“Shit,” muttered Yi Chen as he rushed over to grab hold of Zi Han but for some reason, strength was drown from Yi Chen’s body drastically reducing his speed.
Everything happened so fast that nobody could stop it. The prime minister met those incandescent fox eyes and the image of Yeoh Jun merged with this kid’s making his blood run cold. He turned to flee for his life his gaze catching a glimpse of the Executioner of Blight’s sharp icy blade.
With a loud roar, Zi Han aim the tip of the blade at the coward’s fleeing back as he mentioned his crime.
“Yeoh Ju, under the authority of the Bloodgarde,” he said as a loud shing sound reverberated in the air and the sword thrust into
the man’s flesh. Blood splattered everywhere as the sword pierced through the man’s abdomen.
Zi Han kicked the man’s back as he withdrew the sword from the prime minister’s body and said, “I hereby exact punishment for your crimes against the royal blood.”
A lot was going on but it all happen in the blink of an eye. By the time Yi Chen got to him Zi Han had already summoned Igneous and this time Igneous appeared in his true form majestically hovering above the crowd. The mech that hadn’t been seen for decades revealed itself in front of everyone.
A crowd of people rushed over to attend to the prime minister who was gazing at Igneous his eyes slowly dimming as the light in them died. He had failed miserably. Yeoh Jun was dead but his legacy wasn’t. He couldn’t rob him of that because it was well hidden.
As the last breath escaped his body he whispered, “I am sorry... mother.”
