442 He had indeed weaponized his stinky breath.

When the senior guard noticed the tag on the hovercraft his brows creased. This was from the party sent to capture the humongous beast from skull desert but there wasn’t any sign of their man but the captives they had sent with them as bait.

He immediately raised his rifle and said, “Get out of the vehicle... Now!”

Nayeli who was slightly anxious couldn’t move her feet her muscle tense for a moment. She slowly glanced at her brother and then at Zi Han behind her. Zi Han could sense her nervousness from a mile away thus he winked at her and Nayeli felt a pang in her heart. She parted her lips and was about to speak when the man shouted again,

“NOW!”

The two of them hastily got up but Zi Han remained seated his expression all nonchalant. He was unconcerned at all with what was happening outside the hovercraft.

“Where are the others?! Tell me! Did you kill them you stupid bitch,” angrily yelled the guard while the other one walked to the other side trying to pull Zi Han out of the hovercraft.

“Get out of the vehicle. Don’t you understand my words? Are you fuckin stupid?” yelled the man but Zi Han raised his bound wrist showing that he had been tied to the floor. “You see, it’s a bit inconvenient for me to comply,” he said and the guard angrily yanked the rope and cut it. He reached out to grasp Zi Han’s shoulder with his dirty hands with tobacco stains in his unkempt fingernails.

The man who had been avoided like he was plagued with an incurable disease angrily stared at him but when he saw that face he was extremely dazzled that his brain lagged for a minute.

Zi Han was just like any other man with a tall and strong stature. The only difference was that he was like an unattainable immortal that descended from the heavens with flawless skin that made one want to touch.

.....

The look in the man’s eyes was what one might call love at first sight. His gaze followed Zi Han as he exited the hovercraft with a dignified and cold air around him.

Zi Han walked past him and the guard could only follow behind like a servant following his master.

“Tell me. What have you done with them?!” yelled the guard followed by a loud bam from Nathan being punched in the face.

“No! Brother!” Nayeli yelled as she rushed over to her brother who was lying on the ground but before she could reach him she was kicked on the side of her waist and fell to the ground with a loud bang.

Zi Han felt very uncomfortable watching this but he couldn’t do anything to save them as he was meant to pretend to be a captive.

With a sneer, he stared at the guard who found it amusing to torture the weak and said, “No wonder your men died. There are just as pathetic and weak as you.”

The man who wanted to beat Nayeli again looked up and his seething rage turned to Zi Han. He jumped over Nayeli lying curled up on the ground and stomped over while bellowing, “What did you say? You want to say that again, huh? Say that again pretty boy.”

Zi Han, “...”

Who did this man think he was calling pretty? He wasn’t pretty? Handsome yes... pretty, nope. It seemed after he gets inside he must teach this person some vocabulary and make him understand the difference between handsome and pretty.

Zi Han was really trying to keep his cool but the man came right into his face and spat on him. Worse of all his breath smelled like rotten tobacco like he hadn’t brushed his teeth for decades and let that shit marinade good. He had indeed weaponized his stinky breath.

Zi Han averted his gaze unwilling to treat himself badly. This smell was so intense that he couldn’t help but gag several times. Zi Han took a step back and was about to outrightly offer the person a breath mint when Nayeli spoke.

“Sir, we... we found this man and he had something valuable. Something the lord would want to know,” she stretched out her hand producing three fresh and plump nectarines.

The guards were astounded looking at the fruits in his hands. They were some fruits here and there in the Republic but they were both expensive and rare.

None of them looked this appetizing thus they couldn’t help but drool. A severe instinct to fight over this precious thing rose within them but none of them dared to take a step forward. They knew if they dared touch this their boss would kill them.

“This man should have more or at least know where to get more of this. This is why we brought him with us. We would like to exchange for our mother’s freedom,” continued Nayeli her shoulder trembling in fright.

“Take them inside!” yelled the guard before grabbing Zi Han’s arm and roughly pulling him forward. “Let’s go pretty princess,” he said and Zi Han almost dry heaved. He vowed to make his boyfriend pay for this when he gets his hands on him. These men were filthy with no concept of self-hygiene at all.

The big iron gate opened and the three people were dragged into the miniature town. The place was shabby with dust covered roofs and rubbish was strewn everywhere but the residents didn’t seem to be bothered.

There were men and women fighting on the streets, some were gambling and lewd sounds could be heard coming from the dilapidated houses on the sides. A woman ran out of one of the rooms her top half exposed as she laughed running away from a group of men.

Soon they caught up with her and fondled her in public before dragging her into another room. From the looks of it, they were all high on something.

Zi Han’s brow arched as he silently followed behind the group of men. This place was much more chaotic than the slums of districts one to ten that he grew up in. At least these people wouldn’t openly have inappropriate sexual conduct in public. This place looked hopeless when compared to where he grew up. It was like hell, especially for the children born in this place. The birth rate of the Republic was extremely low because of the constant exposure to radiation and the ones that did get born were born into misery.
