Chapter 367 Answer My Question
Amanda turned around and leaned against the car before crossing her arms. “Who else
could it be? It’s Crispin, of course. He seems eager to marry Stephanie. I feel that he’s
been too calm after all that has happened.”
On the other hand, Elias remained silent, seemingly deep in thought.
She asked, “What would you do if you were Crispin?”
He turned to look at her with a doubtful expression. His gaze seemed to say, Try betraying
me, and you’ll know the consequences!
Amanda batted her alluring eyes. “Say something. If your woman let a middle-aged man
bed her, what would you do? Would you still be calm and not so sad? Would you also be
eager to get married?”
“Since you’re asking me a question with sincerity, I’ll answer it with all seriousness.”
Elias glanced at her gorgeous face and continued, “If I discover you betrayed me one day
and even let another man take you to bed, I’ll lose it and kill that man. If you, just like
Stephanie, got framed and bullied by a middle-aged man, I’d destroy him and bury his
corpse beneath the ground. However, the fact that you’ve betrayed me will drive me
nuts.”
Amanda was rendered speechless upon hearing that. It is just a hypothetical question, so
why is this man so serious? Moreover, he seems determined to put his words into action if
I have the audacity to betray him. It was understandable that she was terrified.
“So, will you betray me? Even emotional cheating is not allowed,” he pressed.
Amanda felt helpless, wondering what was wrong with the man. Aren’t we talking about
Stephanie? Why is it
about me now?
“Mr. Winters, several days ago, you said you wouldn’t interfere in my affairs no matter
what I did, so what is it with you now?”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtElias replied solemnly, “I won’t interfere in your affairs, but that doesn’t mean you can fall
in love with. another man. I won’t allow you to find a stepfather for my son.”
Is this what he meant when he said he wouldn’t have a hand in my affairs? I think he has
some misunderstanding about the definition of freedom!
Seeing that the woman refused to give him a definitive reply, he demanded, “Answer my
question.”
“I won’t. I didn’t betray you after everything you did to me in the past, so why would I
betray you now?” Amanda had the urge to roll her eyes, considering how unreasonable
the man was.
Four years ago, Elias mercilessly dumped her and their child, but she still didn’t cheat on
him. After the divorce, she always kept an appropriate distance from other men, so why
would she betray him now?
Elias furrowed his brows and pulled the woman into his embrace before pressing her head
against his chest. “I’m sorry for what I did to you. It’s all my fault.”
“What’s the point of saying this? If an apology is useful at all, my suffering four years ago
was all for nothing!” Amanda sneered.
Elias only hugged her tightly without a word.

She pushed the man’s towering figure away. “Alright, alright. That’s so off-topic. Let’s talk
about Stephanie.”
He snapped back to reality and said, “There’s something wrong with Crispin. All the clues
show that he doesn’t love Stephanie. He’s only after the Allegras’ wealth.”
“Is that so?” Truth was, Amanda was doubtful. When she saw how loyal Crispin was to
Stephanie, she thought it was true love.
Elias snorted at that. “I’m a man, so you should believe me. No man can ever put up with
his woman cheating on him, and there’s certainly no way he doesn’t mind it.”
“Do you think we should stop the wedding?”
Amanda wasn’t a busybody, but she was part of the Allegras now, after all. As such, she
couldn’t let such an unscrupulous man marry her sister.
“Why would we stop it? It’s Stephanie’s choice, and it has nothing to do with us. Now, I
just want to get to the person who framed me.”
Elias was determined to find the person who made Raymond a scapegoat. It would be
ridiculous if he wasn’t aware of who his enemy was.
As for Crispin, he could tell that the poor man just wanted to climb up the social ladder by
marrying a wealthy young lady. With Jack in charge of everything, there wouldn’t be a
problem. As such, Elias wasn’t so concerned about it.
Amanda nodded. “What if Raymond refuses to expose that person?”
“We just have to wait. I have plenty of time anyway, but his wife’s corpse can’t stay in the
mortuary forever. He loves his wife very much, so he won’t keep his wife waiting.” Elias
commented.
For the next few days, they didn’t receive any good news from the prison. The prison
officer informed them that Raymond merely looked at the wall the whole time in his
confinement cell. He refused to eat or say anything.
Moreover, no one visited Raymond during this period, which was strange.
It would be the end of the month soon. That was when the wedding of Stephanie and
Crispin would be held.
All of a sudden, Stephanie said she wanted to go to the prison and see Raymond. No one
knew what was on her mind, but she insisted on doing so.
“You’re getting married soon, so why do you want to see the man who tortured you?
Aren’t you worried you’ll recall those horrible memories?” Amanda asked, to which
Stephanie barked, “It’s none of your business! I’m going to see him now!”

With that, she turned around and left the dining hall. Crispin said that he would keep
Stephanie company before running after her.
None of them were in the mood to finish their breakfast. Jack was so vexed that he let out
a sigh. I’ll die from getting too furious sooner or later. All she does is cause a scene all the
time. She’s still so willful after such a humiliating incident. She’s hopeless.”

Then, he turned to look at Edith. “It’s your fault for always doting on her. How am I going
to let her manage the family business in the future?”
Edith only let out a sigh, refusing to say a word.
Only Amanda felt that something was off. After leaving the dining hall, she gave Elias a
call. “Stephanie is going to the prison to see Raymond. Crispin is with her now.”
“Why is she going to see Raymond?” Elias was puzzled as to why the woman was doing
such a thing. Amanda was perplexed as well. “I have no idea, but she insisted on going.
It’s as if she’s out of her mind.”
Meanwhile, Crispin was driving Stephanie to the prison.
It was Crispin’s idea to see Raymond, and Stephanie merely obeyed his order. No one
knew what had happened in the past few days, but Stephanie no longer had the guts to go
against the man.
“You’re such a good girl. I’ll let you have a proper night’s sleep today.” Crispin extended
his hand in an attempt to touch her.
Stephanie was so terrified that she flinched. Her face was void of any color. It was as if she
had just seen a ghost.
“Don’t be like this. Others might think that I’ve been bullying you.” Crispin’s voice
sounded helpless, but there was a sinister glow radiating from his eyes.
He had to see Raymond, but if he went to the prison at this point, Elias’ suspicion would
be aroused. As such, Stephanie was the best person to do such a thing.
