Chapter 1105

Thalassa rolled her eyes and muttered under her breath.

She had tried to warn him but to no avail. Wasn’t he the least bit grossed out that he was eating the

spaghetti she had already twirled on her fork, with her saliva all over it?

Evelyn, holding a fresh plate of steaming spaghetti, was about to set it down in front of Lysander when

she noticed that he was already digging into the one Thalassa had been eating from.

Evelyn shot Thalassa a surprised look, realizing that Lysander had taken the initiative himself. She

placed the extra plate beside Lysander and turned to Thalassa, “Sweetie, you

sit and eat. I’m beat. Off to bed for me.”

With that, Evelyn spun on her heel and headed to her room.

Evelyn might have been a straight-shooter and liked to nag Thalassa and vent her frustrations, but she

was no fool.

She knew she’d be the third wheel if she stayed. So, she briskly retreated to her room, leaving them to

their privacy.

Thalassa could read Evelyn’s mind like an open book. Her mother would rant about Lysander hogging

her youth without taking responsibility, yet she also orchestrated opportunities for them to be together.

Thalassa could never quite figure out her mother’s angle.

Thalassa slid into the seat next to Lysander, exactly where Evelyn had deliberately placed the

spaghetti, obviously to position her close to him.

Thalassa pursed her lips, picked up a fork, and elegantly started eating her spaghetti.

“Do you

need something from me?” she asked between bites.

He had first shown up at the Crawley Group and then had followed her to Star Harbor Villa. It must be

something significant for him to make the trip twice.

“Eat now, talk later,” Lysander’s deep voice resonated with a note of command.

Thalassa pressed her lips together. She clammed up.

They ate in silence, the only sounds being Thalassa’s delicate slurping of the spaghetti and the soft

clink of cutlery. Not a peep was heard from Lysander.

Curiosity got the better of her, and she glanced at Lysander. He ate his spaghetti with such grace and

poise, not a sound to be heard.

How does he manage that?

Thalassa could never eat spaghetti without making some noise – something that

highlighted the gap between them. Those small details always seemed to emphasize

their differences.

Feeling a lump in her throat, Thalassa focused on finishing her meal. When she looked up again,

Lysander was done as well.

She stood up to clear the plates and wash them in the kitchen. Coming back, she intended to ignore

Lysander and head straight to her room.

But just as she passed the dining table, Lysander’s baritone voice halted her, “Sit.”

Thalassa paused, took a deep breath, and fought the urge to walk away.

Why should she listen to him?

But his unspoken authority was not something she could easily dismiss.

She reluctantly turned back and sat across from him, lifting her cool gaze to meet his. “What do you

want to talk about?”

“Are you avoiding me?” Lysander’s voice lifted slightly at the end.

Thalassa’s hands tightened in her lap. “The baby is not just yours; it’s mine too. I’m going to have this

child!”

“Still angry?” Lysander inquired, fully aware of why Thalassa had been distant these past few days.

She was upset because he had mistakenly thought the baby was Callum’s, due to a mix-up with birth

control pills.

But her evasive and deceitful behavior had naturally aroused suspicion. If she had nothing to hide, no

betrayal, why the secrecy? Anyone would have doubts in such a situation.

Despite being stood up, Lysander had still come to find her, knowing she was still furious.

The mention of it set Thalassa off, and she stood up abruptly, her chair scraping back. loudly against

the floor.
