Chapter 926
Thalassa dialed the number, her heart racing as the ringing echoed through the silence, seemingly endless until it
gradually grew louder, indicating that the call was being received somewhere inside the house.
She turned around just as Lysander’s tall, imposing figure entered the room, his phone in hand, still ringing.
Thalassa quickly ended the call, her prepared speech faltering as he approached. “Lysander, I was just about to call
you. It’s almost Saturday, and I was thinking of taking the kids to my mom’s place for the weekend and coming
back Sunday afternoon.” Although she had taken the kids to Evelyn’s place before, they had never stayed
overnight.

anticipation, unsure if Lysander would agree.
As she finished speaking, she looked into Lysander’s deep eyes, feeling her heart skip a beat.
“Daddy, we want to go to Grandma’s house,” Elowen tugged at Lysander’s shirt, her little lips pouting adorably. “We
haven’t seen her in so long, and I miss her.”
“Daddy, I want to go to Grandma’s too,” Dorian chimed in, his eyes pleading.
Lysander glanced at Dorian and Elowen, his deep voice breaking the silence. “Go play with Fitch for a bit. Thalassa,
come upstairs with me.”
He gave Thalassa a knowing look and headed upstairs without waiting for an answer.
Thalassa stroked her children’s hair reassuringly. “Mommy will talk to Daddy. Play with Fitch for a bit, okay?”
With a kind smile, Fitch stepped forward. “Dorian, Elowen, let’s go kick the ball around in the yard.”
“Go on, Mommy will be down in a bit,” Thalassa reassured them with a warm smile.
The kids scampered off with Fitch, and Thalassa ascended the stairs to find Lysander standing in the master
bedroom, his presence commanding.
Swallowing her fears, she approached him, wrapping her arms around his waist and resting her cheek against his
chest.
Lysander tensed, surprised by her initiative.
Thalassa could feel the heat of his heart through his shirt, its steady beat syncing with her own erratic pulse.
Fighting to keep her emotions in check, she spoke softly, “You’ve had a long day at work. My mom’s been missing
the kids terribly, and I thought it’d be nice for them to spend a couple of days with her. They adore her, and they

Her voice trembled with nervousness.
She had never been one for coquettish charm or deliberate flattery. But with Lysander, even if it didn’t come
naturally, she had to try.
Evelyn was right; a bit of sweet talk could soften Lysander’s often stern demeanor.
Her tender words melted the ice in Lysander’s heart, his breath growing heavier.
“Okay,” he replied in a low, hoarse whisper.
A wave of relief washed over Thalassa.
“Do you need me to come with you?” Lysander asked, his voice still deep and resonant.
