Chapter 987
“No way I’m risking my paycheck over a few extra minutes of sleep, Thalassa quipped with a chuckle.
“Hey, how did the interview go yesterday?” Ethan strolled into the secretary’s office and plopped down in an empty
chair.
“Went off without a hitch,” Thalassa replied.
But the trek back home was anything but smooth. A story she didn’t feel like sharing with Ethan.

you?” Ethan had been half-asleep when Richard rang him up the previous evening, and it struck him as odd this
morning.
What business could Richard possibly have with Thalassa? Everyone knew she was Lysander’s lady-pursuing her
would be out of the question.
“My phone was off last night. I missed his call,” Thalassa explained, puzzled about why Richard would want her
number.
Did Richard return after dropping Charlotte home yesterday, intending to take her home? Maybe, not finding her
waiting for a ride, he asked Ethan for her number to check her whereabouts?
“Right, no biggie then,” Ethan dismissed it.
“Get your things in order. You’ve got to head over to the Sinclair Group to wrap up the loose ends from our previous
collaboration,” Ethan abruptly added.
Thalassa’s curiosity piqued. “What collaboration?”
“The contract we signed with the Sinclair Group for outsourcing phone production. Although we’ve compensated
for the mishap, our agreement with the Sinclair Group is still in effect. So, we need to discuss the matter of
termination,” Ethan explained.

Ethan suddenly grinned, a knowing look in his eyes. “Aren’t you my secretary? Handling negotiations is part of your
job. Besides, you’ve got a way with Lysander that I can’t match.”
“There’s nothing between me and Lysander,” Thalassa said, her tone darkening as she corrected him.
Ethan kept playing that card, exploiting her supposed connection with Lysander for business leverage.
The man was cunning incarnate.
“Ms. Everhart, let’s not be modest. You’re the only one cut out for this task. No one else can handle it. Find a
suitable time to meet with them. I’ve got to run.” With that, Ethan stood up and briskly exited the office, not leaving
Thalassa a moment to object.
