When the snakes were all raised, Leon turned to look around. He and Jet had split up temporarily. Jet also wanted to level up his dungeon mobs, but he could not do that with Leon also there, as that would mean they would need to start sharing the creatures. So they had decided to split up. They were both strong enough to hold their own against others, and if they could not, they were confident in their abilities to escape at the very least.
So for the time being, Leon was walking his own path. His informant, James, who was hiding in the shadow of one group of competitors kept on feeding him information. He knew the tracks of that party, the monsters they fought, and how they fought. They had helped the group of people that had been assailed by the Demons, and after killing the four Demons, they had also killed the slaves. There was nothing they could do for the slaves, as they had already been warped beyond the point of saving. Even if they could be helped, no one in the group possessed the right specialty, so they had to put down the poor people that had been broken beyond words.
Although Leon felt a bit sad that he could not convert the monsters killed by the group into his summons, he could only shrug his shoulders and accept things as they were.
Leon continued wandering through the halls on his own. His pace was quick with Fenrir as his mount, and he encountered a few groups of monsters, but it was now very easy for him to overwhelm them, so he spent little time being held up by them. On the other hand, he guessed that those without numbers on their side were surely finding themselves wasting more time than him.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAfter several hours of moving through the dim halls, Leon finally came across a group of people. Beastkin. And Werewolves, he guessed as he set his eyes on the three familiar people leading the group.
"Rodius." Leon greeted with a tilt of his head. His tone was void of emotions, as was his aura. The red haired man and his children was leading a group of ten people, and all of them seemed to be related to his kind in some way. Six of them were Beastkin, while the other four were black furred Werewolves. Upon seeing Leon, everyone tensed up.
Clang!
Nero's slammed his sword against his shield, drawing sparks and a loud noise. A red flame burnt within the confines of his skull, and his rage bubbled beneath the surface. He was aware of how these people had treated his master's kindness, and he was not happy. In fact, none of Leon's summons were one bit happy.
Kaladin floated beside Fenrir with lightning crackling around him. Nedra's body grew to match Fenrir's full size, while the wolf king himself also grew in size. A dominating aura wafted forth from Grokus' body and green light glowed from his tattoos.
Leon could not help the reaction of his summons and Spirit Companion, but he did not mind their reaction. Rodius had tried to kill him, and if not for Jet, then he would be dead right now.
"Lex. How unfortunate for us to meet here now." Rodius said with twisted facial features. He had known that the chances of them meeting later on would be high the higher the floor, but so far, as he had not seen hide nor hair of Leon, he had thought that they would not meet. Who would have expected them to meet so soon?
"How unfortunate for you. I truly did not expect you to betray me back then. Especially after I spared your son's life. And telling me that I-" Leon had to cut himself off. He just shook his head. Rodius irritated him deeply, and he did not know what to say at the moment.
Grrrrr...
Fenrir's low growl sent chills down the spine of Rodius' group, and they all pulled out their weapons. This set Leon's already aggressive summons on edge, and gave Leon the impression that they wanted to fight, so he summoned more creatures to fight.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmSeeing the many menacing beasts that radiated a deathly, Unholy energy, the Beastkin and Werewolves began to hesitate. A few eyes turned to Rodius, as it seemed that the two knew each other. Although it was clear that they were not on good terms.
"Look, I am sure you understand why I acted that way. You clearly are a dangerous being, and I was looking out for my family and myself." Rodius said firmly, trying to justify his actions.
Silence stretched out for a minute. Sweat gathered on the foreheads of some of the people as they awaited Leon's words. They had hope that they might escape, but his summons were what troubled them. They had not seen Leon's might for themselves so they wrote him off as a weak Necromancer with no close combat skills to speak of. They had no idea how wrong they were.
"I do not feel like sparing you at all. I will count to three. If I can still sense you by the time I finish counting, you will be dead. No amount of begging will spare you from my wrath." Leon said, and his empty eye sockets suddenly burned with a dark, malevolent flame. An deathly aura spread from his body, showing how serious he was.
'Why are you sparing them?' Nedra could not help but ask.
'...' Leon did not reply, but his silence spoke volumes of his true thoughts, and Nedra was able to get a whiff of those thoughts thanks to how turbulent Leon's mind was at the moment. He was angry, and hateful. He had shown these people kindness, but they did not reciprocate. At least, he could show pity to Maria and Darius, but Rodius was like a disgusting puddle of vomit in his sight. He found it difficult to stand his presence at the moment. Perhaps he would get over it later, but for now, he did not have the strength to ignore his feelings.
