At the hospital, Nina held her stomach firmly, screaming, “I'm keeping this baby! Nobody is touching me. I'll kill
anyone who dares touch me!”
Like a frightened rabbit, she kept retreating in the face of the encroaching doctors in white coats.
“We're sorry, Ms. Richter. This is Mr. Gibson's order. We have to do as he said,” the oldest doctor enunciated
apathetically.
Abortion was already nothing new to him. In fact, given Aaron's debauched lifestyle, the old doctor was highly
experienced, for he had performed the same procedure on many other girls, and Nina would not be his last.
“Aaron Gibson! You b*stard! Get the f*ck over here!” Nina shrieked as a few strong doctors pinned her limbs down,
trying to restrain her.
Suddenly, the ward door swung open, and Aaron entered while hugging a dashing, elegant, and arrogant woman
who narrowed her eyes when she beheld Nina as if the latter were a pitiful worm.
The sight was an eyesore to Nina, for their presence made her feel pathetic.
Her baby's life was at stake, but there the father was, enjoying himself with another woman.
Still, Nina swallowed her pride and implored Aaron, “Please, Aaron, I've never begged anyone before. You must let
this child live. I will keep your identity a secret. This child and I won't be a burden to you in any way. I can even leave
this city for good and never return. Please, just let me keep this baby.”
Holding Aaron's arm, the woman snorted at Nina. “Excuse me. Who do you think you are to bear Aaron's child?
Aaron and I are going to get engaged. As the Gibson family's future daughter-in-law, I will not allow my husband to

As she spoke, the woman threw a bright red wedding invitation card on Nina's pale face, forming a stark contrast in
terms of color.
Nina glanced at the names Aaron Gibson and Courtney Stone that were bronzed on the invite in glaring gold print.
Tears rolled down her cheeks as she parted her lips and spoke stiffly like a puppet. “Ms. Stone, I swear this child will
not stand in the way of your wedding. I promise we will not be a nuisance. This baby might probably be the only
child I bear in my whole life. Please, I beg you. Spare my baby.”
“You are unbelievable! Do you think I am that magnanimous to let you keep that child? Why should I spare your
baby? Who are you? Do you think I do not know your little trick? You will use that child as leverage to leech off the
Gibson family! I have seen many women like you. I do not mind Aaron having some fun, but there is no way you are
keeping his child. You might use this child to threaten me in the future, and that is not a risk I will take.”
Courtney might look educated and classy, but deep down, she was unkind.
Women like her from wealthy families were not that simple, to begin with.
Nina glared at Aaron with teared-filled eyes. “Aaron Gibson, this child is your flesh and blood. What happened might
be a mistake, but this baby is alive. Do you not feel anything for the baby? Please just let me keep this child.
Please...”
Nina suddenly fell on her knees before Aaron and groveled at his feet.
Mellow thuds could be heard as Nina's fair forehead knocked against the cold hard floor until her forehead began
bleeding. A trail of bright-red blood flowed down her cheeks.
However, instead of showing any mercy, Aaron merely looked at Nina mockingly as if she were a clown. “Just as
you said, this child was an accident and, therefore, is not welcomed. It shouldn't exist in the first place. No one has
the right to bear my children except for my wife.”
“Aaron Gibson!” Nina cried out as tears gushed out from her eyes. “I wouldn't have gotten pregnant if you hadn't
violated me! How could you blame it on me? Are you even a man?”
Aaron glowered at Nina in disgust and ordered the doctors, “Do what you all are supposed to do.”
At his command, the doctors moved forward and reined in the struggling woman, pushing her into the operating
room.
Nina bawled desperately as horror filled her eyes. “Aaron Gibson! Don't touch my baby, or I'll kill myself! Things will
get messy if people know two lives are lost because of you!”
“Do whatever you like!” Aaron replied in annoyance and detest.
Never in his life had Aaron been threatened by any woman.
“Hahaha! Aaron Gibson! You'd better remember this. If I die, it's all because of you! I will haunt you as a ghost after
I die. I curse that you never find true love in your entire life!”
“What are you all waiting for?” Aaron was starting to feel agitated by Nina's harangue, so he ordered the doctors to
get to business before leaving with his fiancée in his arms.
Seeing that Aaron had hardened his heart, Nina snatched the scalpel from a doctor's hand and let out a cry of
despair. “Aaron Gibson!”
The man stopped and turned to spare a glance at Nina, whose desperate smile made her look like a wilting flower.

you still forced me to give up this child. Karma will make you pay one day. One day, you will go on your knees and
beg me as I did today. I swear I will make you feel the same pain I feel today a thousandfold!”
The sharp scalpel reflected an icy glint as Nina lifted it. With a whoosh, she brought the scalpel down and lodged it
into her stomach. Blood spewed out instantly, tainting her stomach red.
Aaron paled at the abrupt turn of events. Strangely enough, a feeling of uneasiness rippled across his chest, but he
quickly told himself not to be bothered by a worthless woman.
Unbeknownst to him, one day in the future, he would experience the same unbearable pain because of Nina, yet by
the time he realized his mistake, it was already too late.
Since it was lunchtime, Avery decided to eat at Trident Group's restaurant with Cecelia and other close colleagues,
but while she was on the way there, she received a call from Nina.
Nina's miserable and desperate cries came from the other end of the line the moment Avery picked up.
Taken aback and confused, Avery quickly ran to a quiet place. “Nina! What's happening? Don't cry. Tell me what it is.
What happened?” she asked, worried.
“Ery, I think I'm dying...” Instead of telling Avery what had happened, Nina kept crying and calling her friend's name.
Distressed, Avery rushed out of the company as she continued guessing what had happened. “Did something
happen to the baby? Where are you? Are you at home or in the hospital? Don't be scared, Nina. I'll be there
immediately!”
Sobbing, Nina told Avery her address.
Avery hailed a cab and hurried over to the hospital while staying on the line with Nina.
