Wisteria had extraordinary mental strength.
Even though she felt tense when faced with the scrutinizing eyes of Cayden, she maintained an aloof smile on her
face, nonetheless.
She was well aware of how sharp Cayden was.
As such, she dared not lie to him. “Mr. Moore, I think I took your car once. I bought some undergarments when I
stopped by the convenience store and planned to change into them. After reaching home, I found one piece
missing. Back then, I was too embarrassed to ask you for it. After all, it was a piece of underwear. I find it very
awkward...”
Wisteria, who had always been an aloof person, managed to muster a look of embarrassment when she recounted
the entire matter.
Seeing that she came clean so openly without the intention to conceal anything, Cayden became less suspicious.
What little doubt he had before her admission was long gone.
In truth, he found it hilarious and adorable that Avery kicked up a big fuss with him when she found the female
underwear.
Avery was the perfect woman in every way, except the fact that she was very possessive and rather petty when it
came to matters of the heart. However, he loved and adored her. Therefore, he allowed her to behave as she
pleased and accepted everything about her.
Wisteria had been working with him for years. Naturally, Cayden was fully aware of her capabilities at work.
Wisteria poured her heart and soul into her work. She was second to none among the higher management when it
came to bringing in profits for the company. It was just that she did not seem interested in men, and she had
always been respectful to Cayden.

“So, it seems it was an oversight by you, Ms. Summers,” concluded Cayden as he nodded.
It was only then Wisteria let out a sigh of relief. However, her relief was short-lived. “Regardless, I hope you won't
commit the same mistake in the future. I have always disliked the idea of others leaving their personal items in my
car. Furthermore, an intimate item such as female underwear will give others the wrong impression.”
Wisteria knew Cayden very well and was aware that he would not pursue the matter anymore when he spoke like
that. She could not help but let out another sigh of relief before saying, “Yes, I understand, Mr. Moore.”
Someone as smart as she was would never repeat such a tactic again.
“Okay.” Cayden looked away and began working.
Wisteria did not leave immediately. Instead, she stood there and was mesmerized by the way he looked when he
was hard at work.
While Cayden was perusing the documents, his phone beeped. It was a message from Avery. For the very first time,
he cast his work aside and opened his WhatsApp.
When Cayden saw the cute sticker that Avery sent him, his lips curled into a gentle smile. She was asking for hugs
and kisses.
He then replied to her: Okay. Later when I get home, you can kiss and hug as much as want.
After thinking about it for a while, he sent another message with a wicked grin. When he thought about Avery's
expression upon receiving the message, his smile became even more gentle.
The sudden change in Cayden's expression gave Wisteria a shock.
As far as she was concerned, Cayden was a cold, sharp, serious, determined, and decisive man who had never
shown such an expression before.
Wisteria tilted her head to see who Cayden was chatting with. By accident, she saw a cute profile picture with the
nickname, “Honey.”
Honey?
It hit her like a bolt of lightning through her heart. In that instant, Wisteria was stunned and panicky!
Since when did Cayden and Avery become so close that he nicknamed her “Honey?”
Wisteria's eyes became blurred all of a sudden. It was as though a heavy rock was crushing her, and she was
unable to breathe.
She stood there in Cayden's office, transfixed like a statue.
Tears filled her eyes, threatening to fall the moment she blinked.
Cayden looked up and saw Wisteria standing there blankly like a human doll. He questioned, “Ms. Summers? Is
there anything else?”
Cayden's deep, magnetic voice woke Wisteria up. It was only then she realized that she had lost her composure.
Her sorrowful look was replaced with her usual smile. “I beg your pardon, Mr. Moore. I'm fine. I'll make a move
first.”
Wisteria then turned around and left. She did not have the courage to face that cold face of his.
He pampered other women so much. Yet, there was not a hint of tenderness for her.
Very soon, it was time to go home. Cayden had to work overtime, so he wanted the driver to send Avery home first.
However, she insisted on waiting for him.
Avery was pregnant, and Cayden was worried that she might get hungry, so he sent her to a nearby well-known
dessert shop named Sugar Confectionery and let her wait there.
It was a huge and heartwarming eatery that was filled with many customers.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThere were all sorts of exquisite-looking desserts, and the place smelled lovely. The fragrance gave everyone a
good appetite.
Avery was seated next to the huge window and ordered the waffles with syrup.
The exterior of the waffles was hard and crispy, and there was a layer of icing sugar on it. The inside of the waffles
was filled with caramel and honey. Despite the sweetness, it was not overly so, and Avery could not get enough of
it.
Just then, Bonnie, who was wearing a pair of sunglasses, walked in.
Right from the beginning, when Nicole first gave Bonnie the secret mission, Bonnie had already started to keep a
close watch on Avery.
Since it was a secret, there was no way Bonnie could go to Trident Group and look for Avery. Instead, she chose to
observe Avery secretly and find an opportunity to interact with her alone.
As such, she did not expect that luck was on her side that day. On the first day of her surveillance, she saw Avery
alone in the dessert shop.
Recalling the attractive rewards that Nicole had promised her, the tall and slim woman pushed the door of the
dessert shop open.
Her high heels made clicking sounds on the ground as she walked in and sat down opposite a confused-looking
Avery.
“Avery? Ms. Avery Rumpley?” Bonnie removed her sunglasses and revealed her stunning face.
Avery looked at the overdressed woman and asked suspiciously, “That's me, and you are?”
Bonnie studied that fair and delicate face of Avery's before lighting up a cigarette.
She then said rudely, “You don't have to know who I am, but I want you to leave Cayden.”
Ever since Avery got pregnant, she developed a sensitivity to cigarettes. The fact that the stranger had lit up one in
front of her without a care irked her. Now that she heard what Bonnie said, Avery stared at her stonily.
Who is this woman? Why does she want me to leave Cayden?
