Nicole was very confident in herself.

In order to get married into the Moore family, she had been working hard to learn the activities done by those in

the upper-class social circle from Claire, such as playing the piano and arranging flowers.

In fact, she was even learning how to invest and manage a business from her mother.

She strongly believed that she had the capability to become Cayden's perfect partner.

Nicole's manager, Wendy, warned Nicole, “Nickie, the film crew is having dinner together tonight. I think you ought

to join them so that you can build better relationships with the director and producer. That way, you'll receive

higher offers in the future.”

“Wendy, I'm busy, so I won't be joining such events. We'll see how it goes once I have more free time,” Nicole

rejected instantly.

Wendy wanted to persuade Nicole, but the latter wouldn't budge. In the end, Wendy shook her head and gave up.

Nickie is too stubborn.

When the two of them were walking past a trailer, they heard a few actresses talking and laughing inside.

Initially, Nicole wasn't interested in listening in. However, she abruptly halted in her tracks when she heard them

mentioning her name.

One of the actresses said, “Willa, you actually look similar to Nicole. Unfortunately for you, she's the main actress,

and you're merely a double. Unknown actresses like us are pathetic!”

Willa Johnson replied disdainfully, “That's because she's from a prominent family! If not for her incredible father,

Nicole would definitely struggle in the entertainment industry. Didn't you guys see how bad her acting was just now?

I almost burst out laughing when I saw her pitiful acting skills! Haha! Despite going through professional training,

she's still not as good of an actress as me!”

Someone else chimed in, “Exactly! That's just how it is, though. Nowadays, whoever has the most influential parents

will strive in life! It's such a shame none of us has a good family background.”

Willa responded with a cold snort. “So what if she has a good family background? Nicole is still a third-tier actress. If

I had her resources and family background, I would've become a star in the entertainment industry! I need to tell

you all something. Nicole actually has small breasts. I accidentally saw her breasts once when she was changing. I

think her bra size is barely even a 34A!”

Just as everyone was giggling in the dressing room, Nicole kicked the door open, shocking the actresses inside.

Upon seeing Nicole, the other two actresses began shivering in fear and desperately wishing for the ground to

swallow them up.

Willa, the double, was sitting at the dressing table with her legs crossed because she wanted to show the others her

perfect body figure.

“Ms. Lambert... I...” When she saw Nicole, Willa was so scared that she couldn't even speak clearly.

Nicole glared at Willa and fumed, “Wendy, I can't afford to pay such a double! Pay Willa whatever she's owed and

kick her out!”

Willa is getting bolder by the day! Nicole was furious, and she couldn't care less about maintaining her image in

public.

Willa panicked when she heard Nicole firing her. Immediately, she humbled herself and begged, “Ms. Lambert, I-I

didn't mean it. I swear I'll never do it again. Please...”

Nicole looked at Willa as though Willa were a piece of trash and said, “I'm paying you, and you're here talking

nonsense! I'm a busy woman, so I don't have time to entertain you. Wendy, remove Willa from the film crew!”

Wendy nodded. “Understood.”

Nicole then glanced at the other two actresses present. I'm going to deal with them later.

Without another word, Nicole left the trailer.

Right then, Wendy went up to Willa and uttered coldly, “Willa, leave at once. You're no longer Ms. Lambert's

double.”

Willa, who had just been fired, gritted her teeth hatefully as she watched Nicole leave.

Meanwhile, the Moore family and the Rumpley family had come to an agreement after a round of discussion. Just

like that, Cayden and Avery's marriage was decided.

The couple was to get engaged on the eighteenth of that very month.

Cayden sent out invitations to all the officials, politicians, and businessmen in the upper echelon whom he had good

relationships with. Naturally, William and his wife were also invited to the engagement banquet.

The moment Nicole returned home, she saw her mother seated on the couch with an invitation card in her hand.

Nicole then changed into her house slippers, put her bag aside, and wrapped her arm around Claire's neck to ask,

“Mom, who's getting married?”

“The Moore family sent us this invitation card. Cayden is getting engaged to Avery on the eighteenth,” Claire replied

gently.

Nicole opened the invitation card in disbelief. She was dumbstruck when she saw Cayden's and Avery's names on

the invitation card. In fact, she felt as though her mind had just exploded, and she was shaking violently all over. No

way! Bonnie told me she had already given the disk to Avery. Since that woman loves Cayden so much, why is she

not taking the initiative to leave him? Not only is she not leaving him, but she is even getting engaged to him! Why

is this happening?

Nicole then came up with an excuse by saying that she wasn't feeling well and went back to her room. Upon locking

the door, she instantly called Bonnie.

While Nicole was enraged, Avery was ecstatic. I'm finally getting engaged to Cayden the day after tomorrow. I've

been waiting for this for so long!

In order to make time for the engagement, Cayden had been working late every night. Avery was saddened to see

how little he had been eating, so she was making soup for him whenever she could.

That night, she was making a pot of soup in the kitchen as usual.

Her kids were playing around in the living room, barefooted.

Seeing the lovely interaction between her kids, Avery couldn't help but rub her tummy and let out a chuckle. At that

moment, she was also thinking about Cayden's handsome and gentle face. This is the happy life I want. I've always

wanted a house filled with love, children's laughter, and the fragrance of food.

Suddenly, Avery's phone rang. She thought it was a call from Cayden, so she quickly wiped her hands. Right before

she answered the call, however, she saw that it was from an unknown number.

Avery would often receive calls from unknown numbers throughout the day because her clients would call her on

different phones.

Yet, the second Avery answered the call, she heard a woman shouting at the top of her lungs, “Avery, did you see

what's on the disk? How shameless can you be? I told you to leave Cayden, didn't I? How dare you get engaged to

him instead? Do you not care if he lives or dies? I'm giving you another two days. Make sure you leave him before

the engagement! Otherwise, I'm going to ruin Cayden's reputation!”
