Chapter 550 A Thoughtful Genius
Upon taking a closer look, Avery realized the “examination papers” were white A1 papers, which were much larger
than A4 papers.
There were no pre-printed boxes or lines on the paper. Although each letter was handwritten, they were extremely
neat.
Each letter had graceful and powerful strokes. They were so pretty, as though they were carved onto the paper.
“This is the most difficult yet crucial part of the Certified Professional Constructor's examination. I think you'll be
tested on some of these, so I've summarized them for you. I'm sure you'll pass it.' Cayden's attractive voice rang
out beside her ear.
He had confidence in her.
Hearing that, Avery took the papers and noticed the points involved. It included content from books like Engineering
Economics and Managing Construction Projects, which she would be tested on. The summary was so detailed. In
fact, it was better than the ones written by famous teachers.
Avery had always known that Cayden was a genius, and she had to admit it was great to have someone like him to
guide her.
Even so, she never expected him to put so much effort into sorting out the materials so thoughtfully. Not only did he
list down the difficulties and the key points of the examination, he even wrote a few words of encouragement at the
end of the paper.
He's so thoughtful!
She knew how busy Cayden was every day. Simply dealing with the company's matters daily was enough to give
him a headache, yet he managed to find the time to help her analyze the key points of the examination.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAvery could picture the sound of his pen scratching on the paper when he was summarizing the points.
At that moment, she was truly moved by his efforts. However, she knew Cayden did not like her thanking him.
Out of the many things she wanted to say, she only uttered, “I'll do my best to pass with a high score!”
Cayden ruffled her hair as though he were petting a cat. “Good. I'll be waiting for your good news.”
Standing upright outside the conference room door was Wisteria. She was peering through the door gap and
watching the charming man treating Avery with affection.
Wisteria glared at Avery with hatred.
When she returned to her office, she ordered Yulissa to bring her a cup of coffee.
Wisteria took a few sips of the bitter coffee.
It had no milk or sugar, for the bitterness helped keep her calm and awake at that moment.
“Ms. Summers, is there something on your mind? Is it because of the CEO?” Yulissa did not leave right after she
brought in the cup of coffee.
She was quite an observant person. Otherwise, she would not have become the department head with Wisteria
there.
Slamming the cup of coffee onto the table, Wisteria cast Yulissa an annoyed glance. “Ms. Yantz, you would've been
promoted long ago if you had used your wits in your work instead of speculating your boss' thoughts.”
Wisteria's sharp words did not make Yulissa feel awkward. After all, the latter knew Wisteria was in a bad mood.
In fact, Yulissa noticed Wisteria had been feeling downcast and displeased ever since Avery appeared in Trident
Group.
Mustering her courage, Yulissa said, “Ms. Summers, I hope you don't mind me saying this, but everyone knows how
long you've liked Mr. Moore. Don't you think it's unfair that a woman like Avery beat you to it? Truth be told,
everyone in Trident Group sees you as Mr. Moore's future wife. Ever since Avery appeared, Mr. Moore has been
completely captivated by that vixen. If you don't make a move soon, Avery might actually snatch him away. Will you
really accept that, Ms. Summers?”
“Avery is the person he loves. He doesn't even know I have feelings for him.” Wisteria shut her eyes as a bitter
feeling bubbled in her heart.
Of course, she could not accept that.
Nothing was more cruel than watching the man she loved being intimate with and showering all his affection on
another woman.
Wisteria was sure Cayden more or less knew about her feelings for him. However, he never responded to it. He
never even discussed non-work-related matters with her, not to mention going out for a meal with her alone.
Wisteria had loved him for ten years.
The number ten was a significant number.
She had grown from the youthful girl who yearned for love to the strong, independent woman who had made a
name for herself in the business world. All the hesitation, grievances, and tears she shed during the process of her
growth were forgotten.
The only thing she remembered was her growing love for Cayden.
To her, he was like a dark hole. The more she fell for him, the more she could not let him go.
Thanks to her outstanding abilities and impressive family background, many excellent men expressed their feelings
for her. Some obsessed men even pursued her intensely. Alas, she rejected all of them with disgust.
To her, those men were not comparable to Cayden, even if the latter did not reciprocate her feelings.
Unrequited love must be the worst thing a woman could go through.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe most severe damage one could receive in romantic relationships was to love someone who did not bother
showing them his or her gentle side.
“Ms. Summers, you've been working for Mr. Moore for so many years. You should know him well. The fact that he's
still keeping you by his side proves that he values you. The rumor about Mr. Moore not liking proactive women is
just a theory. Look at Avery. She's shrewd and plays hard to get. Still, Mr. Moore's bewitched by her. Besides, she's
just a pretentious woman. She might look pure and innocent on the outside, but deep down, she's full of evil ideas.
Most importantly, she's not as pretty as you,” Yulissa said everything she could to praise Wisteria and belittle Avery.
“Am I really... pretty?” Wisteria had lost some of her confidence thanks to Cayden's constant indifference toward
her.
Yulissa praised Wisteria exaggeratedly, “Ms. Summers, you're the prettiest woman in this company! Of course, a
woman's appearance is important, but what Mr. Moore prefers is someone with an extraordinary mind. Mr. Moore
can get all the pretty women in the world, yet he chooses Avery. That's because that woman knows how to put on
an act.”
Yulissa scowled with disdain at the mention of Avery's name.
No doubt, Yulissa was jealous of Avery for attracting every male employee in the office as soon as she arrived. She
was jealous that Avery could join in on the collaboration, even though she was a newbie. She was also jealous that
Cayden adored Avery. Even the man Yulissa admired, Kendrick, obeyed Avery terribly.
Yulissa's words made Wisteria fall into deep thought.
She was heartbroken yet obsessed with Cayden's outstanding appearance and charming smile.
Wisteria's eyes gleamed as she took a sip of her coffee. All of a sudden, her icy demeanor had returned, and she
spoke to Yulissa in a high and mighty tone. “Avery's taking the exam to be a Certified Professional Constructor
tomorrow. I don't want her to pass it so smoothly; you know what I mean? By the way, an assistant general
manager from the design department has applied for a transfer. There should be a vacancy for that position soon.”
