When Wendy heard Nicole's accusations, her facial expression immediately changed. “Nickie, honestly, you should

know better than anyone how I've treated you over the years. If it weren't for me cleaning up your messes, do you

think your pure image on screen could have remained unscathed all these years? If it weren't for your recent

arrogance and drama, would you have fallen so low? Your reputation has already plummeted, with no directors,

Upon seeing that Wendy was genuinely angry and getting serious, Nicole suddenly felt a bit guilty.

Nicole recomposed herself and explained, “Wendy, I'm sorry. I'm upset because my role was taken away, and I

neglected your feelings. I know you're also in a difficult position, and I won't behave like this again.”

To be honest, Wendy had been too kind to her. Whether it was her methods or her connections, they were

unmatched by any other agents.

The most important thing was that she understood Nicole exceptionally well. If the latter were to change her agent,

“Who?” A sense of foreboding surged in Wendy's heart.

“Cayden!” Nicole said through gritted teeth, “I have a deep grudge against Avery. I've done some bad things to her

in the past. She must have instigated Cayden to take revenge on me!”

Upon hearing it was Cayden, Wendy was first taken aback. Then, she said with an aching head, “If it's him, then

we're in trouble. Unless your father steps in, we're completely helpless.”

With a hint of embarrassment, Nicole said, “Wendy, given my current situation, I feel like my dad is somewhat

disappointed in me, let alone the fact that he doesn't like me being involved in the entertainment industry. I doubt

he would help me. Although my mom usually dotes on me, she always listens to my dad when it comes down to

some crucial moments.”

Wendy sighed again, subtly hinting at Nicole. “Then why don't you find a powerful support like Cayden? Isn't the

third son of the Xenos family interested in you? Nickie, you must seize the opportunity. Otherwise, your already

worrisome situation will worsen.”

Despite her extreme reluctance, Nicole still nodded firmly with a grimace.

She wasn't going to give up until the last moment.

Avery only stayed in the hospital for two days before Alina sent her back home. The latter argued that although the

private hospital had a pleasant environment, it wasn't good for the expectant mother and the unborn child to stay

there for a long period.

In the end, she resorted to threatening Avery with a hunger strike to persuade her niece to return home for rest

and recuperation.

Cayden arranged for two highly experienced caregivers for Alina. They took turns to keep Alina company at the

Avery furrowed her brows. “I'm still very worried about Aunt Alina's illness. She's already so sick, but she still

refuses to undergo surgery.”

Cayden held her even tighter, his chin resting in the crook of her neck, his voice magnetic and deep. “Don't worry.

I've already contacted the most experienced doctor specializing in mammary glands. He will arrive in Ackleton

soon. We will avoid surgery if possible, but if it's absolutely necessary, we'll strive to minimize the wound. This might

make it easier for your aunt to accept.”

Avery nodded gently. “I thank you on behalf of Aunt Alina.”

“Silly girl.”

“By the way, Mrs. Lambert has been reaching out to me these past few days. She wants me to draw design plans

for her company. Also, her attitude towards me has been somewhat strange lately. I don't know if it's just my
