Aurelia heaved an internal sigh of relief.
If something had truly happened to Leopold, the only people she and Kane could rely on were Jessica and Arnold.
At noon, Arnold took it upon himself to whip up a hearty lunch.
William ate until his tummy was round and full, declaring that Arnold's cooking was his absolute favorite.
Afterward, they headed out to the backyard for a game of baseball.
Chirpy fluttered about in the air. It seemed to turn into a cheerleader every time William played baseball.
"Go William, hit that homerun, homerun!" William was over the moon, and it had been ages since the three of them played baseball together. It felt like a throwback to their time in Goldstone.
"Mommy, | wish we could be together like this every day," he said.

Arnold shared that wish, ready to do anything to have Aurelia return to his side for good.
Aurelia smiled and gently stroked William's hair, "Daddy and Mommy have to work, sweetie. We can't play every day, but we'll make the most of our weekends." William pulled a face, feeling like Aurelia missed his point. He longed for the complete family they had back in Goldstone. Now, he was part of a single-parent household.
Deep down, Aurelia understood what William wanted, but she and Arnold would not marry. The days in Goldstone were gone for good.
Arnold prepared some afternoon tea.
After enjoying the tea with William and Arnold, Aurelia left. Once in her car, she pulled out a disguise mask and headed to Leopold's mansion.
Leopold was busy with work in his study.
"Care for some cheesecake? Arnold made it, and it's delicious. | brought some for Kane," she said with a smile.
Leopold's brows furrowed at the mention of Arnold.
"No wonder you're so late. It's almost dark." Aurelia's tone was casual as she replied, "I went to see William. I've been staying at the Stirling Mansion with Kane, and William's been with Arnold." Just thinking about her with Arnold soured Leopold's mood.
"You should spend more time here with me." He complained.
She gave him a sidelong glance, replying, "If I'm here all the time, they will get suspicious. We can't afford to mess up the big picture. If you're bored, you could always have Lana come to keep you company." Leopold's handsome features tensed, "You really don't care, do you?" She shrugged nonchalantly, "I'm not a silly woman. Men are optional for me." It was probably just him that was optional.
Her indifference was like a heavy stone in his chest. He grabbed her arm and pulled her into his embrace.
"What really matters to you then?" "Obviously, Kane and William," she replied firmly.
Leopold suspected she wanted to include Arnold in that list but dared not voice it.
If she had, he would have made sure she couldn't leave the bed for days.
Aurelia tried to pull away, but he swept her up and deposited her onto the couch.
She had succeeded in arousing him, and now it was her responsibility to help him regain his composure.

"Stop it, | have something important to discuss with you." His fingers roamed under her skirt with brazen intent, "I don't want to talk right now." He wanted the sex.
Only by having sex with her, again and again, would she be unable to ignore him.
Aurelia was both speechless and resigned.
Leopold was too virile, treating her like a lion that hadn't eaten in days.
After several vigorous encounters, Leopold's mood finally improved.
Aurelia felt utterly spent. If this continued, she'd be utterly drained.
She'd need to take care of herself when she got back.
Leopold poured two glasses of red wine, handing one to her.
"Is this important thing about the upcoming Midsummer ancestral ceremony?" he asked.
"I reckon all your relatives will be there. If they insist on visiting you at the hospital, Jessica might find it hard to refuse."
