Chapter 76 Chapter 76 +25 BONUS "Let go of my sister right this minute!" Zeke's harsh voice cut off the confession Alden had been about to make as he grabbed Alden's hand and tore it away from Luisa's arm Luisa gasped. "Zeke, what are you doing?" "Keeping this bastard away from you," Zeke hissed. "Luisa can't you see that he can't be trusted? He deceived all of you because his friend asked him to, just to get Thalassa here." Alden clenched his jaw, frustrated, but tried to keep his voice calm. "You saw what happened here yourself, Zeke. I did it for a good reason." "That doesn't make you any less of a liar and a user," Zeke scoffed disdainfully. "You still used my sister to get to Thalassa. How do I know you're not trying to get close to her only because Miller asked you to?" Luisa felt her cheeks warm with embarrassment and quickly clarified, "Zeke, Alden never askedout. He didn't even speak topersonally." Zeke huffed. "Sister, don't try to defend this man. Please understand that he can't be trusted. That's why I'm here. I won't allow another bastard to hurt you ever again." He turned his glare back on Alden. "Stay away from my sister." With that, he wrapped his arm around Luisa and began leading her away. Alden fisted his hands in exasperation as he watched them go. He had no doubt that Zeke Mathews was going to be a thorn in his side in his pursuit of Luisa.

Zeke suddenly stopped in front of Millie. "Are you staying behind?" he asked gently, raising a brow. "Has your car been repaired already?" Millie shook her head. “No. They said it will take a few days" "Then why are you staying behind?" His eyes narrowed slightly as he indicated Alden with a nod. "Is he going to drive you home?" "No," Millie quickly answered, shuddering at the mere thought.

After what Francis did to her the day Zeke drove her home, she wasn't going to dare let another man take her home. Though she and Alden were friends, he'd never even met Francis.

"I'll just order a ride home," she added.

Zeke shook his head. “You know I'm not going to allow that, right?” Millie bit her lip. "Zeke, please, it's okay.' Zeke frowned. "Is this about your boyfriend? Did he get upset the last tI took you home?" Millie froze, her heart skipping a beat. "Of course not," she quickly lied. "He was just not expecting it." From the way Zeke's eyes remained narrowed, it was clear he didn't believe her, which made her nervous.

“Well, if he didn't get upset, then he won't mind if I take you hagain, right? I can drop you off first so that he knows Thalassa and Luisa are also in the car." Millie realized she'd been tricked. Now she had no choice but to agree. “Okay, sure. Thank you." Unexpectedly, Zeke placed his hand on the small of her back, making her stiffen as he led her and Luisa out of the restaurant.

1/2 +25 BONUS Chapter 76 Thalassa was waiting at the entrance. Just as they were about to walk off, a voice suddenly called out.

"Millicent." Millie instantly froze, swallowing hard as she turned to face the owner of the voice. She quickly stepped away from Zeke's hand on her waist.

"Fra... Babe, what are you doing here?" Francis smiled, but it didn't reach his eyes. "I was worried about you, and I just needed to check how you were doing." Zeke snorted, his suspicious eyes locking onto the man. "Millie must be so lucky since you worry about her so much. Yesterday, you were worried just because she was a few minutes later than you expected her home. And today, you can't help but look for her because you're worried, even though you know she's out with her friends." Francis did not look amused. "If there's something you want to say, then say it." Seeing the panic in Millie's eyes, Zeke forced a smile. “Oh, all I want to say is that I love how much you worry about Millie. It's not overbearing at all."

Both men narrowed their eyes, glaring at each other, the tension palpable. Before it could escalaten Millie quickly cupped Francis's face and kissed him on the lips. It was the only way to calm him down-being affectionate with him in front of other men to show them that she 'belonged to him. "We're done with dinner. We can go hnow," she said.

"Okay, let's go," Francis said, leading her away without even bothering to say hello to Thalassa or Luisa. Millie flashed an apologetic look over her shoulder. "Something about that guy just givesthe fucking ick," Zeke said once Millie and her boyfriend entered a car and drove off.

Though Luisa also found the interaction strange, she was more upset about how Zeke had treated her like she couldn't make her own decisions in front of Alden.

Pushing her brother away, she stormed into his car. Zeke let out a Luis sigh, wishing Luisa Would understand that he was only trying to protect her.

He turned toward Thalassa, who still hadn't entered the car yet. "Shall we go?" Nodding, Thalassa was about to open the door for herself, but Zeke hurried to do it for her. Just as she was about to enter the car, Kris's voice stopped her.

"Thalassa, please, can we talk?" Kris croaked, his throat too tight for him to speak properly.

His heart pounded as he waited for her answer.
