The moment the wyvern went just over the cliff, it seemingly disappeared under Dustin, and he started falling towards the cloud until he went completely through it.
He could have gone down on the wyvern's back, as that was the better option in case there was no landing spot, but seeing the attitude of the creatures around here towards the wyvern and him, it seemed like the creatures here just somehow new the wyvern wasn't part of them, even though they look the same for the same part, as all the monsters Dustin had seen within the volcanic region were draconic in appearance.
The monsters here seemed to naturally be pissed off by their presence, and though he had only faced a handful, he could tell something was off about them.
When Dustin got to the floor of the cliff that seemed to take almost a minute even though he was free falling, he immediately tried to hide himself amongst some rocks behind the place where all the monsters were gathering.
'To think these are all monsters, I almost thought they were just black rocks.' Dustin said in his mind. The number of creatures that gathered there seemed almost uncountable. He just found some place with well positioned rocks and hid himself in-between some cracks.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtBelow the cloudy mist that covered the top of the cliff, there was some light shown from different places, but Dustin was unable to pinpoint where the light was coming from, even now that he was on the floor, he still couldn't tell exactly how it was possible.
Anyway, that wasn't the thing that would take his attention at the moment though, using his sixth sense, that was the least amazing thing to him. At that moment what he was looking at in front of where all the beasts had gathered was simply amazing. If he was to compare it to anything he had seen, he would compare it to the time he left Eir and that realm, where the sky literally tore open. The difference now was that instead of tearing, the space around the place where something was appearing seemed to be twisting into a spiral, and after some seconds, the centre point in the spiral began expanding outwards, until a portal appeared.
Dustin couldn't help himself from thinking about why all the drama had to be done. He had seen Eir open quite a few portals, and none was this dramatic. As the portal opened completely, something began coming out of it slowly, as it first popped out it's head, and then the entire body followed.
Even Dustin with the demonic and cold blooded nature felt a little fear when he laid eyes on the creature. To call it a monster was an understatement.
By the time the creature had come out of the portal completely, its deep blue eyes that held a lot of power behind then looked around slowly, as though scanning the entire place, and after that it let out a loud growling, if it could be called that. It was so loud that Dustin could feel the ground beneath him shaking, even with all the other countless beasts and monsters around.
'This is out of my expectations, way out.' Dustin said calmly in his mind, the effects of his two natures showing.
It was no doubt that the monster that came out of the portal was a dragon, but this one wasn't just any dragon. If Dustin was to take a guess on this, he would say that this was definitely the king of dragons, not even one of the dragon's seven children.
The dragon was bigger than anything Dustin could ever imagine, not even the snakes he saw with Eir were this big, if he got his calculations correctly. The dragon was at least 80 metres in length (longer than a Boeing 777-9 airplane which is 76.72 metres long), and had a very fitting muscular body to match it's size. Overall, the creature looked towering. It had four legs, and its wings which it spread during the first roar were unimaginably wide. With such a body, Dustin didn't really care about the wings, he wasn't sure the dragon would be able to fly so easily.
'Whatever it is, I need to find a way to get out of here.' Dustin said in his mind.
Following the first roar, the enormous dragon let out another powerful roar, this one stronger than the first. This time, in response, what Dustin would conclude as all the beasts and monsters gathered, let out their own immediately after the dragon seized.
After that, Dustin couldn't really do much, as he would just hear an occasional low grumble from the dragon, or it would make some other sound, and other times the gathered creatures would be the ones to make the sounds. Dustin assumed they were communicating with each other, but he had absolutely no idea what was being said.
After spending about 20 minutes hiding between the cracks of the rock and listening to animals talk, even though he would believe that theirs was telepathic more than anything, he noticed actions that seemed to signify that the whole thing was coming to an end.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm'Finally, let them finish and allow me get out of here. This was certainly one unexpected scenario.' Dustin thought to himself. To think that the group he saved earlier had come here to hunt this mountain of a dragon, Dustin couldn't even shake his head.
When everything seemed to be going well, and it was time for Dustin to sneak out of the place and hide somewhere until the dragon and all the beasts leave, something happened that confirmed his suspicions.
A voice entered his mind and spoke to him, telepathically.
[HU-MAN]The incredibly deep voice said.
It was evident that the voice came from the dragon, and to this turn of events, Dustin wasn't very sure what to do next.
'Fuck.' Dustin cursed in his mind immediately, but unusually calm.
'How did it find me?' He questioned himself, while different thoughts on how to get out of his situation were brewing in his head.
[DO YOU THINK ME BLINDD. OR. DO YOU THINK, MY SENSESS DULL?] The dragon asked in a stern voice that sounded otherworldly, even through telepathy.
Before Dustin said anything, the earth was rocked with another roar from the dragon, and just as Dustin was about to look at what was going on outside by sticking out his head, his sixth sense picked up on something, but Dustin was too slow, and the next thing he saw was the rock he was hiding between being completely blasted off the ground, and him with it.
