Chapter 1280: Training and Panagea(4)
Aakesh looked back and saw a wall blocking his sight. It meant Aakesh could only go forward and climb down the stairs.
As Aakesh took a step forward, he found the ground slightly slippery. Aakesh controlled the momentum with which his foot landed, and things went alright.
Aakesh began climbing down the stairs and kept at it for some time. Aakesh had traveled more than a hundred miles, and since the stairs were simply moving downward, he had walked downward. He had yet to see anything other than the stairs.
Aakesh didn't stop and continued. After traveling for a few more hundred miles, Aakesh found himself on a flat surface as far as his eyes could see.
The ground was more slippery than earlier, but Aakesh had no issues with that. Aakesh had only walked ten steps forward when he heard the sound of footsteps coming from the darkness.
Tap! TaP! TAP!
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAakesh stopped there and waited. As the owner of the footsteps approached closer, the sound grew louder.
The sound of footsteps had turned extremely loud and didn't match Aakesh's sight. From what Aakesh heard, he believed the owner to be ten meters ahead of him, which was in his sighting range. Unfortunately, Aakesh didn't see anything there.
Aakesh activated [Energy Overseer], and he still saw nothing but a few energy dots. If anyone were there, they would have energy signatures, and the skill would immediately catch them.
If the skill didn't catch anything, that meant there was no one there. While Aakesh was testing, the sound of footsteps approached even closer.
Suddenly, Aakesh turned to his left, and he saw a head appear there. A scary grin appeared on the face when it stared at Aakesh.
Aakesh wasn't someone to feel fear from those scenes, so he acted and extended his hand to capture the head. The head hadn't expected Aakesh to be this brave and try to grab it. It wanted to run, but it was no match for Aakesh's reaction speed.
The next moment, the head was in Aakesh's hand, and he looked indifferently at it.
Instead of making Aakesh feel fear, the head felt chilly when it saw itself getting stared at by those eyes.
The head tried to run away, but it was no match for Aakesh's strength. If it could speak, it would've immediately pleaded, but unfortunately, that wasn't possible.
Its master didn't want it to speak, so they had took out his vocal cord.
Aakesh's eyes were indifferent as he added some strength to his hand. The next moment, the head exploded like a watermelon, but not a single drop touched Aakesh's skin. It was vaporized into nothingness before it could dirty Aakesh's skin.
After the explosion, there was a spherical core left in his hand. Aakesh brought it closer to his eye and found the pattern he was looking for.
The head was an artificial creation that acted as a guard as well as a key. From the size of the pattern, Aakesh would need to grab a billion of these spherical cores before he could form a complete key.
The sound of footsteps was still there, but now they were moving far away. At one point, it sounded exactly like the steps of someone passing Aakesh.
When Aakesh turned around, he had found the wall blocking his sight and the sound of footsteps still going away.
Since Aakesh had only entered, he didn't know much about the area, so he decided to focus on the sound of the footsteps when he needed to. For the time being, he would press on. He still needed to find that guy and select him so that he could gain something from his class.
Aakesh walked forward, and he hadn't even landed his foot when he felt a hint of danger. Aakesh looked down and found that the stairs had returned, which weren't there a moment ago.
If Aakesh hadn't noticed, he would have stumbled and fallen down the stairs. Since the step could be slippier than before, Aakesh slowly landed on it.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHe then climbed down the stairs. His walk didn't go on for hundreds of miles like the last time, but after around ten miles, he found himself on the flat surface.
The sound of footsteps returned, and the same phenomenon played out. Aakesh still couldn't see who or what it was. But not long after, a pair of heads appeared in the darkness.
They seemed to be aware of what Aakesh had done to one of their friends; they stopped at a safe distance from him.
Aakesh's expression had no change as he flicked the spherical core in his hand, infusing it with energy.
The next moment, the head closest to Aakesh exploded into a blood mist, and then the spherical core flew toward the second head.
In no time, Aakesh had three spherical cores in his hand. One of the spherical cores melted into the other, while the third one remained still.
Only finding the billion spherical cores wasn't enough. The pattern designed for them followed a sequence. If Aakesh needed to complete the key, he would need to arrange the cores in a sequential way, and then they would begin merging in order.
It was going to be tough for others, but not for Aakesh. With the merging of the two separations, Aakesh already had the key in his mind. He only needed to gather them. Arranging them in order was an easy task.
Time flew by, and a few hours had passed in the blink of an eye. The number of heads followed a pattern. First, he came across one head, then two, and then four. Following the sequence, the number of heads doubled with each appearance.
But when the number reached 1024, the number of heads became constant, and no matter how far he went, the number remained the same.
After having a merged spherical core among around ten thousand different spherical cores, Aakesh walked forward to complete his journey.
The sound of footsteps returned once again, and he still failed to see the owner. Not long after that, the 1024 heads appeared. They were in a circular formation and immediately attacked Aakesh, releasing screams.
With each appearance, the strength of the head was growing as well.
