Chapter 1345

Now, Ellinor was just sitting by herself, quietly sipping her coffee.

Theo walked over, squatted down, and whispered to her. “This coffee is cold. You can’t gulp it down all at once;

you’ll feel sick.”

Ellinor scrunched up her face, trying to dismiss his kindness. “It’s fine!”

Theo knew she was just trying to rile him up, but he didn’t get mad. “Sweetie, half a cup is enough. You sit here and

sip. I’m going to check on the investigation, alright?”

Ellinor made a noncommittal sound, seeming a bit distracted.

Theo rubbed her head and then turned to walk down the police station corridor.

After Theo left, Veronica helped Marissa sit next to Ellinor.

Ellinor just gave Marissa a small smile, not seeming very warm.

Marissa sighed deeply. “Ellinor, I heard what you said to Sophia just now.”

Ellinor looked at the older woman. “Did I shatter your image of me? Do you think I’m not treating Theo well?”

Marissa shook her head. “Ellinor, I know you’re a good, honest girl. I also understand why you left without a word. I

knew about Theo and Sophia’s marriage, but I didn’t tell you because I was afraid you’d get angry and leave Theo.

Ellinor, I didn’t mean to keep it from you. I knew Theo was forced to marry by his grandfather; he really had no

choice. But if he didn’t do it, his grandpa wouldn’t have the surgery.”

Ellinor listened to her while intermittently sipping her coffee through a straw.

Marissa continued, “Ellinor, you might not know, but since you left, Theo’s been in a daze. I haven’t seen him smile

once, and he sends people to look for you every day.

I’ve seen it clearly; you’re his life! And I can tell you still have feelings for Theo. You two are clearly in sync, so why

let misunderstandings come between you? Ellinor, why don’t you come home with me?”

Ellinor shook her head. “No, I’m not going back yet.”

Marissa looked disappointed. “What’s the matter? Aren’t you willing to give Theo a chance to make amends?”

“He’s still married to another woman. I won’t live with a married man. When he’s divorced, I’ll go back.”

Upon hearing this, Marissa felt like there was finally hope for the two of them.

“Ellinor, I understand how you feel right now. But if you don’t come home, where will you stay? You’re almost due.

I’m really worried about you staying somewhere else.” Ellinor replied, “Don’t worry, I’m in good health and have a

good place to stay. The baby will be fine.”

Marissa wasn’t planning on forcing her, but she felt like Ellinor may have misunderstood something.

“Ellinor, I’m not just concerned about the baby in your belly but also about your own health. Childbirth is extremely

dangerous for a woman. I’m worried that there are no other female relatives to take care of you, especially since

it’s your first time. It’s making me very anxious.”

“Thank you for your concern, but I really don’t have any issues. Until Theo sorts out his personal matters, I won’t

set foot in the Blanchet villa. That’s my decision; I hope you can understand.”
