happiness?”
Ellinor’s face darkened. She glared at him and snapped. “Theo, what in God’s green earth did I do in my past life to
deserve you?”

now?”
Marcus frowned, his voice stern. “I may never be able to stand like a man again, unable to provide you with
emotional and physical happiness.”
Ellinor froze, understanding his meaning.
“It’s fine. We already have children. Whether or not we can make love doesn’t matter. I don’t have a strong need
for it.”

man a burden.”

Ellinor nodded unhesitatingly. “It’s not just me. It’s a fact! Why else would Sophia do this to you and keep you by her
side? It’s because you’re so handsome, it’s criminal!”
Marcus, usually stoic, couldn’t help but smirk. “And here I thought you were just sweet-talking me.”
Ellinor huffed. “I’m not flattering you. I’m merely stating the facts.”
Marcus asked, “Are you really okay with me as l’arn now?”
Ellinor leaned in close, meeting his gaze. “Yes, I am!”
Marcus was silent for a moment before he replied with a smile, “Good. If you don’t mind, then I’m more than
happy.”
