Chapter 1817
Before Ellinor could say anything, Arnold cut them off. “Shut up! Both of you! Are you itching for another beating?”
Tracy and her daughter immediately shrank back, remaining silent.
Ellinor was now a member of the Blanchet family. She was a force to be reckoned with.
Arnold spoke to Ellinor with a touch more respect. “Ellinor, what brings you back here? Missing your old man?”
Hearing Arnold speak made her feel sick, and she coolly replied, “Mr. Arnold, watch your manners. I had some
business here, but after seeing your family in this state, I guess it’s not necessary anymore.”
Sheila couldn’t help but interject. “Dad, see! I knew she came back just to gloat!”
Arnold was, of course, unhappy. He got beaten because of Ellinor, but he couldn’t provoke her further and

Originally, Ellinor came back for revenge on behalf of her mother. But after seeing them battered and bruised, she
decided not to add insult to injury. It was enough.
Losing interest in the spectacle, Ellinor turned on her heel and walked away.
While leaving the Mendoza household, she didn’t hear a peep from the family. Of course, she knew that once she
was gone, Tracy and her daughter would undoubtedly
badmouth her.
Whatever. She couldn’t care less. This family, even if she left them alone, wouldn’t lead a good life. Their greed
would eventually lead to their downfall.
After leaving the Mendoza house, Ellinor prepared to return to Chase and Belinda’s wedding reception. They were
her close friends, and she wouldn’t miss the rest of the celebration for any other reason.
While walking towards her car, Ellinor suddenly felt a chill run down her spine. After whipping her head around, she
saw no threat. She only saw a man walking away with a helium balloon in his hand.
Ellinor squinted, thinking she might be overreacting due to a lack of rest.
Returning to her senses, she was about to get into her car when she glanced back at the balloon man’s retreating
figure.
Meanwhile, the Mendoza household erupted into an argument.
After Ellinor left, Arnold began to berate Tracy and Sheila.
At first, Tracy and Sheila bore the insults silently, but they soon reached their breaking point.
Struggling to her feet despite her injuries, Tracy snapped, “Arnold, have you had enough? Do you think we’re afraid

you join them in tormenting us?! We can’t live like this!”
Sheila looked on fearfully as the argument between her parents escalated.
Arnold was taken aback by Tracy’s defiance. After a moment of stunned silence, he snarled, “Well, if you can’t
stand it, then leave! Take your good-for-nothing daughter and get out!”
Tracy scoffed, “You want me to leave? It won’t be that easy! Arnold, don’t forget, we’re legally married. If you want
a divorce, we’ll go through the legal process and split our assets. Half for me, half for you!”
What? Split their assets?
Arnold stared at Tracy, who was now openly revealing her ambitions.
“You must be dreaming! What marital assets? Those properties were left to me by my ancestors! I’ve spent a
fortune taking care of you and your daughter over the years. You should be grateful that I’m not asking for
reimbursement!”
