Chapter 1835

At the sound of Marissa’s voice, Ellinor turned to see her grandmother standing in the kitchen, wearing a

heartwarming smile. “Ellinor, it’s time for breakfast. I saved some just for you.”

Ellinor nodded and took a seat at the dining table.

Marissa then instructed the house staff to bring the freshly prepared breakfast to her.

Afterwards, the elderly woman took a seat next to her granddaughter-in-law. “Ellinor, dig in.”

The old lady seemed to be in high spirits that day. She was practically glowing with joy. It wasn’t hard to guess that

her grandson’s return was the reason for her cheerful demeanor.

“Grandma, why didn’t anyone wake me up this morning?” Ellinor asked while dutifully eating her breakfast.

Marissa was all smiles. “Theo asked us not to disturb you. He wanted you to sleep in a bit. He said you were tired

from yesterday. Eat plenty, Ellinor. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, and you two have been apart

for three years. You must have missed each other a lot.”

Ellinor blushed furiously.

Theo could be so annoying sometimes. He made her grandmother believe they had done something they hadn’t.

“Grandma, about last night. He and I…”

They had slept in different rooms.

However, Marissa cut her off before she could finish. “I understand, dear. No need to be embarrassed.”

Ellinor was mortified.

It was better not to explain. The more she said, the worse it would get.

“Ahem, Grandma, I have to step out for a bit. Could you and Veronica please look after the kids?”

Marissa nodded. “You’re going to the office to see Theo, aren’t you?”

Ellinor nodded. “Yes, I need to get him up to speed on everything that’s happened at the company while he’s been

away.”

Marissa seemed to understand completely, and she nodded several times. “Don’t worry, dear. The kids will be just

fine with us.”

Ellinor felt uncomfortable under her grandmother’s knowing gaze. It was obvious that she was eagerly anticipating

another great-grandchild. She didn’t want to have any more kids.

After finishing her breakfast, Ellinor politely excused herself and left.

Driving from the Blanchet residence to the Blanchet Corporation took just the right amount of time for her to arrive

during lunch.

She and Theo had agreed the previous day to visit a certain place.

The atmosphere at the Blanchet Building was more tense and quiet than usual because their notoriously strict Mr.

Blanchet was back.

The entire staff was curious. They were bursting with questions that they wanted to discuss, but they couldn’t slack

off or gossip while Mr. Blanchet was present. When Ellinor emerged from the elevator, she was met with the full

attention of the entire staff.

Ellinor was here too!

They decided to focus on their work and save the gossip for after work.

Ellinor reached the CEO’s office without any hindrance. No one dared to stop her.

The secretary brought her a cup of coffee. “Mrs. Blanchet, Mr. Blanchet is still in a meeting. It should be over soon.”

Ellinor nodded, took a seat at the CEO’s desk, and began flipping through a few documents.

The secretary promptly exited the room.

Ellinor took a sip of the coffee and noticed that the documents had Theo’s signature on them. She closed them and

set them aside.

She didn’t have to wait long before the man in question returned.

Theo didn’t mind Ellinor sitting in his chair as she calmly sipped her coffee. His stern gaze softened with a hint of

amusement. “How come you’re here so early?”

Ellinor took a sip of her coffee. “Isn’t it almost lunchtime? You forgot I said I’d take you somewhere today.”
