Chapter 2252
The angrier Kael grew, the calmer Thalia became.
With her life literally in her own hands, no matter how much the man taunted her, she
acted as if she hadn’t heard a thing.
Holding on until the director arrived with help was all she had to do to win this silent
battle.
After finding Balfour, Margot stopped crying altogether. She wiped her tears away and
followed Balfour and the others in search of Thalia.
Noticing Margot’s change of demeanor, Balfour’s impatience slightly subsided.
Had she continued sobbing, he might have to instruct her to stay in place. What good
would she be if she only cried?
If Margot truly wanted to save her friend, she needed to get her act together and join
them in a meticulous search.

“Did anyone check her dressing room?” he asked.
Colton felt awkward.
They hadn’t considered Diana to be a suspect, so why would they have searched her
dressing room for evidence?
Their silence spoke volumes, and Balfour didn’t press further; he’d expected as much.
Margot, regaining her composure, said, “I noticed something was off with Thalia right after
she came from Diana’s dressing room. But Thalia never actually went inside; she just
stood at the entrance. I remember now! It was you, director, who asked her to go fetch
Diana.”
Colton grew pale at the thought that his oversight could cost a life.
“Quick! The most dangerous place is often the safest. Diana might have stashed evidence
in her dressing room,” Colton urged, ready to lead the search party.
However, Balfour shook his head slightly. “What’s most important now isn’t finding
evidence; it’s locating your crew member. If we find her, we can at least prove that Dia
and her gang laid hands on her, obtaining part of the evidence. Otherwise, if something
happens… it’ll be a dead end.”
A dead end!
Margot covered her mouth to stifle her sobs.

They had no clue which direction to search, scurrying like mice without a single lead.
“Do you
remember what Thalia said on the phone? It was her last call, so it must have been
crucial. That’s why she reached out to you. Think hard. Your best friend’s fate lies in your
hands.
Balfour wasn’t trying to scare Margot.

Given Thalia’s cautious and timid nature, he couldn’t fathom why she’d take such a risk to
call during a life-threatening moment unless she intended to share the location of the
evidence or her whereabouts with Margot.
“I… I can’t remember,” Margot said in distress. “All I recall is Thalia breathing heavily, as if
someone was chasing her. There was a howling wind, it sounded like she was outside.”
The men frowned in unison, waiting for her to give them a lead.
The producer chimed in, “Based on what you said, could she be in the mountains? But why
would she think to go there?”
They were at a loss. What kind of evidence would be in the mountains? Or was her hideout
in the nearby mountains?
But there were plenty of mountains around.
Margot asked in agony, “Can’t we just call out Thalia’s name as we climb the mountain?
Otherwise, by the time we get there, she might be colder than a Thanksgiving turkey.”
Balfour shot her a look, “If you want to keep your friend from meeting her maker, keep
quiet.”
