KYLE'S POV.

Everytthere's a gathering, my sister cooks up something that will ruin the mood and get people into danger. She's so good at this and I hate her so much for it.

On my way home, my mother called me, wailing and screaming about how Alina had lost the pregnancy and also commandingto go check on her because she hasn't stopped crying ever since she got the news, but I ended the call and pretended the phone call never happened.

I've always known Alina to be an ambitious girl who's ready to do anything to get what she wants, but I had no idea to what lengths she was willing to go. Now that I've seen what she's capable of doing to others for her self interest, I don't think I even know who Alina is anymore. And the fact that our parents keep supporting her is absolutely disgusting. I hate them all for that! I absolutely cannot believe that Alina killed her own child just to incriminate Ashanti and get a chance to get closer to Alpha Reagan.

"Welchome, Delta Kyle." The guard who opens my car seat door welcomeswith a gracious bow.

"Thank you, Jamal." I reply with a curt smile as I step out of the car and stand tall, straightening my suit. "Is Tessa home?" "Yes Sir. I brought her in a while ago." My smile widens.

"Thank you for that." I walk past him and head straight to the house, trying hard to maintain a slow, gentle and graceful pace and a straight face so the guards standing around don't notice how anxious I am to see my mate. Today has been a difficult day. It has been one rollercoaster ride to another and I'm totally drained. I need someone to hug me, kiss me, cradleso as to relieveof this stress I'm feeling right now. The only person who can do that right now is Tessa and I nearly sing with excitement when I walk into my living room and see her comfortably seated on a sofa, watching TV.

"Babe!" She squeals as she jumps down from the couch and rushes toand I expect her to slide slender arms around my neck and she tips to her toes to smash her lips against mine and givea welckiss that will make goosebumps appear all over my body, but that doesn't happen. As she stands before me, every trace of excitement has been wiped clean from her face and replaced with a worried look. My brows crease when she holds my hands. "Babe, is it true? Has Ashanti really been locked up in the dungeon? Why are they accusing her of poisoning Alina so she could lose her pregnancy." Of course it's because of Ashanti's issue. They are best friends.

Memories of the awful day replay fresh in my mind and I let out a tired sigh. I guess I'll have to handle this business first before thinking about hugs and kisses and cradles.

"Baby." I bring her hands that are still wrapped around mine to my lips and kiss them. "Con." I lead her back to the sofa she was sitting on when I cin.

"Is it too serious?" She asks once we are both sitting down. I calmly nod my head.

"Yes it is. And we need all the help we can get to prove Ashanti's innocence." "What do you mean by that? She didn't do anything wrong." Her eyes turn glassy and voice sounds like she's about to cry. "Ashanti would never do a thing like that to anyone. She's innocent!" "That's true, but only about the four of us believe that. The elders, the Alphas, the subjects have all fallen for Alina's antics and they are ready to crucify Ashanti. If we don't do something fast, things might go awry." "No!" A tear escapes her eyes. "No. No. No. Don't say that. We can't let her get punished for a crshe did not commit. She... she..." She bursts into full blown tears. I scoot closer to get and pull her into my arms to comfort her.

Great.

I chwith the hope of getting cradled, now I'm the one doing the cradling.

"It's okay baby..." "No it's not!" She tears out of my arms and glares at me, her chest heaving heavily.

"What I mean is, we won't let that happen. The guys and I are doing all we can to prove her innocence. Ashanti is the true born Luna of this pack, we won't let anything bad happen to her."

"I want to help." Her tone is laced with determination. Her eyes staring deep into mine. "I am Ashanti's best friend and apart from the fact that loan't just stand by and watch her suffer for E a crI know she did not commit, I might be of great help in this investigation because I know the details of everything she has been through in the hands of Alina. I know who to talk to, which buttons to press, just geton the team."

"You are already on the team, my love and I'm sure you'll do an excellent job, but there's something that has been buggingfor stnow. I didn't want to tell you at first, but I just realised that I'm never going to be at peace with myself if I don't tell you." A ridge forms between her brows as she creases them. My heart starts pounding because what I'm about to say will not sound very pleasant to her.
