REAGAN'S POV.
"None of your business." Those words Ashanti uttered landeda blow and I'm struck and speechless as I process them.
She's going out on a date with a man. A man called Leonard. I have no idea from where this man borrowed the audacity to approach and try to woo a woman he very well knows is mated to his King, but I'm going to end it.
Ashanti is my mate... my wife to be... my Luna. I won't let anyone take her away from me.

I quickly fish out the blasting phone and stare at the screen, expecting to see either Kyle or Ronald's names on the caller ID, but it's neither of them. The nI see makes something in my chest twinge.
I nonchalantly swipe the answer icon and hold the phone up to my ears.
"Hello Selena." My voice is rough and impractical. I expect to hear Selena's calm and sorrowful voice, but what feels my ears is far from that.
"My Lord Alpha..." An almost crying woman speaks. "Forgivefor calling you like this. I ran out of options." "Can I Know who's speaking? Where's Selena." "It's Nessa speaking, My Lord. One of the servants in charge of taking care of Selena, my Lord. She's ill and has been so for the past two days. She won't let us bring her to the hospital or call a pack doctor over. She won't let us call you either and we're worried about her. Please cover." "I'm on my way." I end the call and hold the phone in a tight grip.
"Jared." I call my driver. "Driveto Selena's apartment." "Right away, Alpha." I lean against my seat and squeeze my eyes shut. My stomach is quivering madly.
It is true.
I have to choose one from these two girls very fast before I lose my damn mind! Ashanti is going out on dates with men and Selena keeps falling ill every now and then. The investigation has to start sooner rather than later. The ride to Selena's apartment is a quick one. Once I arrive, I head straight to her bedroom where I meet her lying on the bed, looking pale and fragile like always.
"Alpha Reagan." She calls calmly the moment she sets her eyes on me. Her voice sounds very weak. I take calculated steps over to the bed as she struggles to sit upright. Her eyes are sunken, and the dark circles underneath them are clearly visible. She also seems to have lost sweight.
How cshe didn't call to tellshe was ill? "Selena." I call calmly, quietly, as I lower myself on the bed beside her. Her weak eyes are on my face and she looks very surprised to see me.
I didn't cto check on her the entire weekend. I'm sure she's staring atlike this because she wasn't expectingto cin today either.

"Who told you about my fever?" Even her voice sounds sick. It's like there's a wound in her vocal chord that's making talking very difficult.
"One of your servants called." I place the back of my palm on her forehead to feel her temperaturesShe isn't burning, but she's warmer than she's supposed to be. She's also sweating profusely.
"She didn't have to call you. I'm going to be fine." That statement of hers grates my nerves. I heave out a frustrated sigh and plaster my gaze on her face again. "When did it start?" "The fever?" "Yes Selena, the fever." "The day you broughthere. It started that night." "That was three nights ago. Selena, you've been sleeping with a fever for three nights now? Why didn't you call me?"
"When you left that night, I thought you'd ccheck up onthe next day but you didn't. Another day passed and you'd still not showed up and I figured it was because you were very busy. I didn't want to bother you or be a nuisance." Her voice is less than a whisper when she says the last statement and she's no longer looking at me. Her gaze is on her fingers which are playing with each other on her lap below. X
