Barry was rambling on, his lighthearted and chatty demeanor soon dragging Logan into the conversation.

"Everyone was buzzing with excitement when they heard you wereing, Logan. Your reputation precedes you, so having you

visit our hospital was a real surprise for many. Even Faye was taken aback, had to double-check it was really you.”

Logan was momentarily stunned. Faye had actually asked about him?

A rush of indescribable emotions flooded him, and for the first tin a while, Logan found himself speaking up, “This Faye you're

talking about?”

“Oh, | meant to ask if you knew Faye. You know, Chief Faye?”

Hearing that nthat had been etched into his mind countless times, Logan couldn't help but feel his heart race, as if he was

suddenly transported back to those high school days.

Lost in his thoughts, Logan didn’t even notice Barry calling his nuntil a sharp “Logan!” snapped him back to reality.

“What's up?” Logan, still slightly dazed, locked eyes with Barry.

Barry, scratching his head awkwardly, thought he had misspoken, “Oh, nothing, Logan. Just that we've arrived at the hospital.”

Shaking off his reverie like waking from a dream, Logan stepped out of the car, adjusting his outfit as he took in the sight of the

large building before him.

A crowd had gathered outside the hospital to wee him, and among them, Logan's gaze immediately found Faye, the person he

had been secretly longing for.

Faye, recognizing Logan, was genuinely thrilled beyond her initial shock.

“Wee to our hospital, Logan,” the director stepped forward, shaking Logan's hand warmly.

Logan's eyes lingered on Faye for a moment, but before he could speak, the director was already ushering him inside.

Logan frowned, wanting to explain something to Faye, but as he turned back, he saw Faye waving him off with a gesture that said,

“Go ahead, I'll catch up.”

Faye mouthed a greeting, and before Logan could respond, she was called away by another doctor.

Frustrated, Logan turned back around, their first meeting not going as he had hoped.

Unaware of the awkwardness, the director chatted away, “So, Logan, how long do you plan on staying with us?”

After a moment's thought, Logan replied, unsure butmitted, “I won't be leaving anytsoon.”

Pleased, the director clapped his hands together, ready to offer Logan a luxurious suite near the hospital where many doctors

resided for convenience.

Logan initially wanted to decline, thinking of Faye possibly staying there too, he hesitated but eventually accepted the director's

offer, though he insisted on a regular room, much to the director's embarrassment who had almost otten Logan's preference

for simplicity.

“Sorry, Logan, | didn’t mean to presume...”

“It's okay, thanks for the offer. I'll start by getting familiar with the department,” Logan interrupted, eager to move on.

“Sure, I'll have Barry apany you!” the director suggested.

As Barry sprang up beside Logan, guiding him through the hospital, Logan corrected him gently on formalities, “Just callDr.

Logan here, no need for formal titles.”

Together, they inspected each department. The staff had been forewarned of Logan's visit, ensuring a diligent atmosphere

throughout.

While ascending the stairs, Logan lamented not having seen Faye yet, but as fate would have it, she appeared before him, greeted

by Barry with respect.

Facing the light, Faye waved at Logan, “Didn't expect to run into you here, Logan.”

Their familiarity surprised Barry, who watched the exchange with keen interest.

Faye’s teasing made Logan's ears burn, but he managed to reply calmly, “Long tno see. Surprised to find you here.”

“Just finished rounds. You won't need to check upstairs,” Faye handed Logan spatient files, “See any issues?”

Before Logan could fully reply, Barry eagerly interjected, only to be interrupted by Logan, who was less than pleased with the

interruption.

Faye, with a rare seriousness, reprimanded Barry for his lack of manners, apologizing to Logan for the inconvenience, revealing

Barry as the eager intern under her guidance.

Logan felt a sting of irritation watching Faye take up for the young guy, thinking, "Grown man needing someone else to clean up

his mess? If he can't handle a simple conflict, maybe he should just go back hand live in his mom's basement!"

Barry, oblivious to the storm brewing in Logan's mind, realized the situation was dicey. Thankfully, Faye had his back; otherwise, if

Logan got ticked off, Barry's career might be at stake.

"| gotta head out; swamped with work," Logan announced to Faye, making his exit without further ado.

As Logan's figure receded, Faye let out a sigh of relief, her hand on her chest, "That was a close call."

"Faye, patient in room 516 is asking for you," a nurse's voice crackled through the inte.

No tto dwell on the recent events, Faye gathered her things and headed to the patient's room, her mind racing.

Meanwhile, the atmosphere around Logan was frosty, with Barry trailing behind, silent as a mouse, fearing he might be the next

target of Logan's displeasure.
