Chapter 1480 Tender Woman

As such, that was also the reason why he wasn’t exactly enthusiastic about it.

On the other hand, Cindy had a different perspective—regardless of whether the award was rightfully earned, as

long as Ian obtained it, his ratings would definitely skyrocket. Naturally, it would be highly beneficial for his future

plans.

At the same time, his success would also be advantageous for her.

Cindy didn’t care about things like moralities and integrity; all she wanted were the benefits.

By the time they had finished breakfast, their driver was already waiting downstairs. Cindy pondered for a bit

before filling a container with food and brought it out with her.

A baffled Ian asked, “What’s that one for?”

In response, Cindy replied, “The driver sounded as if he had just woken up when he called me earlier, so I assume

he hasn’t had his breakfast yet.”

Ian nodded his head without saying anything.

He always knew Cindy to be a delicate woman; it wasn’t common for a woman to possess both physical fitness and

mental diligence.

When they went downstairs, the driver could be seen laying against the back of his seat, seeming somewhat unwell.

Cindy quickly questioned, “What’s wrong? Are you feeling sick?”

The driver answered, “I must have caught a cold.”

Fortunately, Cindy always carried a little backpack containing various sorts of medication with her.

She handed the driver the lunchbox she had prepared earlier. “Eat up when we get there. I have some meds with

me, and I’ll only give you some after you finish your food.”

The driver proceeded to navigate the car, beaming all the while. “Do you always carry some medicine with you?”

As she was checking her backpack, she replied, “I only prepare them as a contingency in case Ian needs it, but he

never does.”

Meanwhile, Ian, who was seated at the back, raised his head to peek at Cindy, but he could only see her lowered

cheek.

Cindy then asked the driver where he was feeling sick and searched for the right medicine. She appeared serious

yet gentle at the same time.

Ian silently let out a sigh and withdrew his gaze without staring for too long.

He felt something was wrong with himself, but luckily, the feeling had yet to develop into a point of no return.

After contemplating for a while, he inquired Cindy about his schedule for the upcoming week.

Since she had jotted everything down in her phone, she pulled it out and showed it to Ian.

There were activities for each day of the following week, but it wasn’t exactly packed.

After scanning across the timetable, he slowly quizzed, “It’s been a while since you last went home, right?”

Clearly, the words were spoken toward Cindy, who was dazed upon them as she took her phone back. “Yes, it’s

been a while.”

However, whenever Ian’s schedule was packed, Cindy would be packed with work as well. Besides, her complicated

relationship with her family was also one of the reasons she never returned.

Upon hearing her response, Ian suggested, “Why don’t you take a few days off? I’ve only realized how busy we

have been that I didn’t even manage to allow you some off-days. Since it’ll be rather lenient next week, I figure I

can give you some time off so that you can get a proper rest at home.”

Cindy was stupefied. “Why are you giving me off-days all of a sudden?”

He stared at her. “Why? Don’t you like holidays? I assumed you’d be happy to have them.”

She pondered. “I sure am. It’s just rather out of nowhere.”

“Oh,” Ian blurted. He then clarified, “I just suddenly remembered that it’s been forever since the last time you went

home. I’ve seen the schedule. I won’t be that busy these three days, so I’ll manage myself just fine. In the

meantime, you can enjoy your off-days.”

Without over-contemplating it, Cindy beamed and responded, “Sure. I’ll pack up tonight.”

With that, the conversation ended.

Ian turned his eyes toward the window. In fact, he didn’t let her go simply because she was away from home for

too long. Rather, it was him noticing a certain change in his heart.

Although it was subtle, it was enough to make him feel alerted.

Thereupon, he felt the need to split up with her for a few days to calm down his heart and mind.

Thanks to his innate calmness, he could pretty much figure out why he had been having such inexplicable feelings

for Cindy.

It was rooted from his lack of attention and affection from his family. Furthermore, he had been spending some

time living under the same roof with Cindy, who had been treating him with utmost care.

Cindy was a tender woman who always managed everything at home so perfectly.
