Chapter 1502 Calling Ian

Cackling, Naomi went over to throw an arm around Cindy’s shoulders. “Well, I’m mainly curious because such a

good friend of mine has such a popular star for a boyfriend.”

Cindy, who was a little tipsy at the moment, then replied, “Alright, alright. I’ll call him when we get home so that you

can hear his voice.”

Finally, a cab stopped in front of them and the two women quickly climbed in.

After giving the cab driver their address, Naomi urged somewhat impatiently, “Call him now! Do it now!”

Emboldened by the alcohol, Cindy pulled out her cell phone. “Alright. I’ll call him now.”

Woozily, she unlocked her cell phone and squinted at her contacts list, unable to find Ian’s number in her current

state.

Naomi helpfully leaned in for a look as well, but she was also tipsy.

After an interminable length of time, Cindy finally found his number and tapped on it immediately to place a call to

him.

On the other end, Ian was somewhat surprised when his phone buzzed with a call from Cindy.

Thus, he stared down at his phone for a long time before he could be sure that he wasn’t mistaken and that she

was, indeed, calling him.

By now, he had returned home and was lying in bed, looking at his phone.

So, he answered, saying, “What’s up?”

Sounding somewhat eager, Cindy said, “Say something, Ian.”

As soon as she was finished, Ian could hear Naomi’s laughter burst forth from the other end of the line.

Instantly, he frowned. “What’s up with you?”

“Nothing,” Cindy answered, sounding like she was laughing as well. “My friend simply wants to hear your voice. Say

something to her.”

Upon hearing that, Ian grunted before following up with a ‘nice to meet you’. He then asked Cindy again, “What

happened to you?”

Before she could reply, Naomi interrupted, “She’s drunk. We drank earlier tonight.”

Once again, he frowned, but Cindy then spoke up.

Sounding obviously like she was talking to Naomi, she said, “Who’s drunk? I’m not drunk. You’re drunk. Look how

red your face is.”

Not wanting to back down, Naomi quickly retorted, “You’re one to talk. Your face is red as well.”

Indeed, Cindy didn’t think she was drunk—only a little dizzy—as all of her faculties were there.

She was aware of every word she was speaking and every action she was taking.

Meanwhile, Ian asked urgently, “Where are you both? Are you still outside?”

Resting against the backseat, Cindy answered, “We’re in a cab. Going back to the hotel soon.”

Since he was somewhat worried, he told her, “Don’t hang up before you get back.”

Obediently, she agreed before starting to laugh again. “When are you free?” she asked. “My friend wants to meet

you. Have dinner with us.”

That was something Cindy would never, under any circumstance, say outright while she was sober, but it seemed

that the alcohol had given her courage and thicker skin.

Nevertheless, he didn’t refuse her, only saying, “Well, when does your friend have time? You know my schedule, so

you only have to pick a time when I’m free.”

“I see.” Cindy thought dully for a second before saying, “How about tomorrow evening, then?”

Since Ian was relatively free at the moment, he saw no reason to disagree. “Sure. Call me when the time comes

and I’ll go and meet you both.”

Laughing so hard that she seemed not to be able to stop, Naomi told him, “That’s great! I look forward to meeting

you tomorrow.”

After acknowledging her reply, Ian asked Cindy again, “Why did you drink?”

“Ah…” she murmured. “Because I’m happy, of course. It’s because I’m happy.” With that, she began to tell him all

about what she saw and what she bought at the market tonight.

After the bit of alcohol she imbibed, she was clearly chattier than before and laughed the entire way home.

For Ian’s part, he kept silent, and Cindy didn’t seem to want to wait for a reply from him, only continuing to ramble

on about whatever she wanted to.

After a while, he placed his phone next to him and, leaning against the headboard, crossed his arms over his chest

and listened silently.
