Chapter 1596 Let’s Meet Up
All of a sudden, Aurora’s impression of Cindy turned even better. It’s rare to find such a good girl nowadays.
After pondering over it, she slipped into a seat across from Ian. “Why don’t you give Cindy a call? Both of you can’t
keep this up. Even married couples shouldn’t ignore each other when they get into a fight, let alone a dating couple
like you two who don’t even have your relationship recognized by law. If you keep having fights, you might end up
breaking up.”
Looking at the food on the table, Ian felt his stomach growling, but he had no appetite at all.
Even Aurora was not in the mood to eat, and she changed her tone as she continued, “If you really can’t take that
step and set your dignity aside, just imagine whether you’ll be upset if you lose her. Compare her to your dignity
and ask yourself which is more important. As long as you keep that thought in mind, you’ll be able to take the next
step.”
With his brows knitted tightly together, he merely said, “Let’s eat.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtSeems like he doesn’t want to talk about it, Aurora concluded and thought it was better if she didn’t talk anymore.
Hence, they sat down and ate in silence, but both of them didn’t have any appetite and could barely finish half of
their food.
Finally, it was Ian who put down his fork first and stood up without a word before he went back into his room.
Closing the door behind himself, he couldn’t help but check his cell phone again as he leaned against the closed
door. There was still no reply from Cindy; his texts earlier had gone unanswered.
She’s probably still angry, he thought. As he knew her more than a little, he knew that she could be quite stubborn
despite her easy-going personality.
His action last night was very rude indeed, and regular girls wouldn’t be appeased so quickly after that. Now, he
had no interest in checking his own rumors on the internet anymore, for his attention had long been diverted.
After pondering over it for quite a while, he sent another text to Cindy in the end. The message was almost the
same as before, but this time, he mentioned what happened last night, saying that he was a little reckless and he
regretted it after that.
Ian couldn’t bring himself to say more because there were many things that could only be said when they met.
As it was before, there was no reply after he sent his text, and he waited for a bit before tossing his phone aside out
of frustration.
In the meantime, Cindy had her eyes fixed on the text as she held her phone tightly. It wasn’t on purpose that she
didn’t reply, but rather, she didn’t know what she should reply. She, too, wished to sit down and talk things over with
Ian.
The situation should be resolved as it should. Should they continue with their previous cooperation, or were they
going to part ways and go different paths from now? No matter what, there had to be an outcome. Things couldn’t
be left hanging like now.
Despite that, she wasn’t sure how she would react when she faced him for real. The dilemma within her—wanting
to meet him but was afraid to do so—almost made her have a breakdown.
With her phone tightly in her hands, she thought it over and over before finally gritting her teeth and sending Ian a
reply.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHer main point was replying to Ian’s suggestion to meet up, and she gave him the address of a coffee house
outside of her hotel. In the same text, she also included the time to meet up, which would be an hour later. ‘Let’s
meet up there and talk things out once and for all,’ she said at the end of her text.
After sending the text, she took a quick shower and changed into a fresh set of clothes. Even though it was still
quite early, she went ahead downstairs and headed toward the coffee house.
As Ian was a public figure, she had especially asked for a private room. After she got in, she sent him the room
number. All said and done, she didn’t have to wait too long because Ian arrived in less than ten minutes.
Immediately when the door opened, she could already hear the noise, but she didn’t turn around to look and
merely kept her eyes lowered as she stared at the coffee cup in front of her.
Standing at the door, Ian fixed his eyes on her. Actually, it had only been a day that he hadn’t seen her, but he felt
that he didn’t know her at all when she was acting like this. After a short pause, he finally walked in and took a seat
across from her.
Taking a deep breath, Cindy lifted her eyes at him, expressionless. “I’ve discussed it with Hannah. She said that I’m
not needed to help out with anything in public for the time being, so I’m thinking of going home now. I figured you
should be informed about this.”
