In the following days, under Austin's guidance, his parents and brother started to cultivate.

Austin was pleasantly surprised to find that his mother had even managed to progress farther and faster than his father and his

brother.

But Austin wasn't too worried.

He had a multitude of resources, including all kinds of precious natural treasures that could assist in one's cultivation.

He also knew of many secret methods that could enhance one's aptitude and potential.

Naturally, he felt confident that he could help boost his father's and brother's cultivation of necessary.

Austin had already formed a resolve to ensure that his family reached a certain realm which would enable them to live at least a

few thousand years.

That way he wouldn't have to worry about everybody's lifespan.

He knew all too well that he couldn't stay indefinitely on Earth.

He would eventually have to leave.

But the least he could do before his departure was to secure his family's welfare, and jumpstart their cultivation so he could make

sure that they were in the right direction.

Chad and their father had already quit their jobs.

These days, they spent their tcultivating at home.

Austin kept them under constant supervision.

He would correct them when they made mistakes, and advised them on the proper methods.

His cultivation base had been weakened after he cto the Yellow Cosmos, but Austin was originally at the Golden Immortal

Realm. He had no problems teaching his family how to cultivate.

He didn't dwell much on it, since he retained his knowledge of martial arts and deep understanding of the laws of nature anyway.

These were what was essential to cultivators.

Fortunately for them, even though his family had no history whatsoever in cultivation, they did not have trouble learning it.

Austin was, after all, an excellent and diligent teacher.

Five days passed. It was the middle of the night, and Austin sat cross-legged in his room.

He was trying to comprehend the law on the surface of the Earth.

His concentration was then broken by snoise coming from their gates outside.

He used his spiritual sense to check what was going on, and perceived about a dozen people creeping outside their yard.

Among these stealthy intruders, Austin recognized Ford, who had displayed the Spirit-possessing Skill in the Luxury Restaurant.

'What a ruthlessly greedy guy!

He's probably here to rob us.’

Austin's smile was both cruel and expectant.

In their encounter earlier, he had already used his spiritual sense to gauge this guy's character.

The purpose of these uninvited guests was no mystery at all.

Meanwhile, outside, Ford and his men gathered towards the gate.

"Ford, are you sure that rich guy lives here?"

a brawny man wearing a denim vest whispered. "Why would someone wealthy live in such an old and rickety house?"

"Oh yes, I'm sure," Ford whispered back, a hint of deep respect lacing his tone.

"I did my homework and gathered intel on that brat.

He and his family are renting this place.

Don't be fooled, though.

That's brat's a martial artist; he's not like ordinary people at all.

Even if martial arts masters are filthy rich, they rarely ever live lavish lives."

"You're quite right about that.

All right, you guys, listen up and focus."

The burly man's eyes lit up with wicked excitement.

"We need to perform the Spirit-possessing Skill and attack that bastard simultaneously.

I'm pretty sure we can handle him even if he is a great fighter.

We outnumber him, after all, and we have a powerful skill at our disposal.

Once we get our hands on all his money, we kill him and his family and get rid of their bodies.

We'll split up the two hundred million dollars equally!"

The man rubbed his hands in anticipation as he finished dissecting their plan out loud.

The rest of the men murmured their assent to the plan. The thrill of the task at hand was already spreading among them,

especially the prospect of all the money they would be getting for themselves. They proceeded to climb over the wall and quietly

sneaked up to the bungalow.

Austin had kept track of their conversation with his spiritual sense.

He could pinpoint their exact locations and could perceive their every move.

He sneered at their audacity.

He teleported and promptly popped up in the yard, standing behind the hunkering figures as they crept forward.

"How dare you break into my place?" Austin said in a deadly calm voice.

"You must want to die so badly."

Caught off guard, Ford and his men turned on their heels.

"Who's there?"

"It's him!" Ford was pointing at Austin with barely disguised shock.

To say they were taken aback was an understatement.

"Oh, | see." The man in denim stepped forward.

He eyed Austin cockily, tilting his head to the side as he mocked the smaller man.

"So this is him, eh? He looks weak and harmless.

Hard to believe he's a martial arts master.

Well, whatever. Let's get started!"

The intruders clasped their hands together and raised them above their heads.

They began to murmur chants as they stamped their right feet on the ground. It created a loud rhythm that vibrated along the

ground and broke the silence of the night.

"They're about to bring forth the Spirit-possessing Skill," Austin muttered to himself.

Instead of taking a defensive position, however, he remained still and unleashed his spiritual sense instead.

He intended to figure out what this skill they were all so fond of was about.

"Austin!"

His parents and brother had run out upon hearing the commotion.

They were obviously startled at the scene that was unfolding before them.

"What is happening?"

"It's all right," Austin assured them using his spiritual sense.

"You just stay put and watch."

His family nodded in assent.

They were confident that he could defeat all this people; it would be a piece of cake to him.

"What's that?" Austin narrowed his eyes as he sensed the void in front of him tremble and waver.

An evil energy began to descend from the sky and hovered on their yard.

Vaguely he could make out that a figure emerged from that thick coat of evil energy.

It had eight arms and nine toes. The horrendous creature drifted across the space and entered the brawny man's body.

The man stopped his murmured chants. Suddenly, he raised his bowed head and glared at Austin with bloodthirsty eyes.

He looked like a beast ready to pounce on its prey.

Soon after, ten more streaks of energy shot from the sky and entered the bodies of the other intruders.

As they becpossessed, their bodies becbulkier, almost turning them into giants. They emitted a tremendous evil aura

that permeated the air in the whole yard.

'l see, ' Austin mused, taking stock of what he just witnessed. 'This so-called Spirit-possessing Skill is actually a summoning skill.

And what they summon is evil energy which they then use and take advantage of.’

He had seen many summoning skills in the past, so wasn't really bothered much by it.

He just didn't expect such a skill to exist in Earth as well.

‘But this skill requires that the entities to be summoned be specific, whether they're real existing beings or divine gods that had

long perished.

Now what divine gods did these bastards summon? The Earth is one of the birthplaces of divine gods, after all.

Is it possible that they summoned the divine gods that used to live here? Hmmm, which ones could they be?"

Austin pondered over this, since he was deeply interested in this aspect of Earth's history.

His musings were disrupted by the brawny man's angry shout. "Go to hell, brat!"

He stomped on the ground once, then lunged at Austin with murderous intent.

The rest of his cohorts followed suit.

"Humph! Filthy little tricks!" Austin scoffed with contempt.

He activated the Omnipotent Lightness and charged towards his enemies.

He hit them with his hand, smashing their heads blow by blow.

He was so swift his foes didn't even have the tto scream before their heads exploded.

It didn't take long before there was only one left and it was the brawny man.

He was standing still, not daring to move even an inch.

He was visibly frightened to his very core.

Austin looked him in the eye as he waved his hand.

A flerupted in the corpses littered on the ground, and it burned the bodies to ashes that disappeared into the wind.

"Austin!" His mother's shout was a little fearful. His family might have started cultivating, but they had never witnessed such a

brutal display in their lives.

"You'll get used to it," Austin said to his family. "This is the world of cultivators. Killing is inevitable."

He asked them to carry on with their cultivation, and gave them a few more reassurances.

Then he walked to the brawny man and grabbed him. "Taketo your master."

With that, they flew into the night sky.
