It seems that grinding in that area will be necessary for Aion. At least the class and refinement levels reach forty. It was only natural that the next area would be tougher… still, he was a bit surprised.
Regardless, Aion got a ton of fur and leather from the monster and bones as well. He could only use the bones for the spear, though. After that, Sauros and Seris fought the same monster that kept coming without them moving from the spot… They also had a bit of a problem thanks to the enemy's endurance, but they had to gain combat experience the hard way as well.
"It seems that in this area, the enemies will keep coming, and we have to fight all of them since the corridors are large… ignoring them might make them surround us later," Sauros said. "Is that enough now, Seris?"
"No problem," Seris said. "I know how we can deal with them in the most optimal way possible."
"Then let's return to the previous floor and help you with that and rest for some hours," Sauros declared.

"Ouch," Sauros said and then shrugged.
Aion was interested in the process of Seris' work, so once they returned, he began to pay attention to what she was doing after she took out her things from the inventory. She had some parts that had already been made, parts of a crossbow or some defensive gear. Aion thought that she was going to make more ranged weapons, but instead of that, she got the hilt of a sword and then made it absorb a stone that had a rune written on it.
After a while, she also grabbed a single-edge blade and then made it absorb another rune on its base. That blade was quite weird since it could only cut from one side, and it wasn't curved like most single-edged swords. After that, she put the parts together… that was a bit disappointing. Aion wanted to see the rune creation process.
"Try to make your mana pass through the sword," Seris said after tossing the sword toward Aion.
Aion didn't need new weapons, but he was the one with the most mana by a fair margin of the group, so he was the best option to test it. Just to be safe, Aion pointed the sword to the distance, and he did well because once his mana began to pass through it, a concentrated line of flames was shot into the distance. It even caused an explosion after hitting a walk two hundred meters away…
"Your powers make no sense… sometimes you look so weak, but you are still able to use so much with so little mana…" Seris said while frowning.
That was because he changed his class to Necromancer… still, he used enough mana to fire a single decent fireball, and the result had been way above all that.
"So, you used runes that enhance magical powers?" Aion asked.
"You are half right," Seris said. "I used two runes, one that grants the user the power to fire a blast of wind through their weapon and a fire rune that can more or less do the same. When they are combined, they can do that."
"Isn't this like a cheap way to deal with the enemies? Just approach and point it at their heads?" Aion asked.
"That is the mentality of a kid raised by a warrior," Seris said. "We aren't here to improve our strength or satisfy our egos, and we are here to get the relic."
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThat was true, but Aion still felt that it wasn't the best approach. Then again, he was someone that was raised in an old family of warriors, and while he worked harder than everyone else, he still had a system to assist him, so that he couldn't say too much about it.
Sauros eventually tested the sword and felt a bit weird about using a weapon that actually had weight, and it wasn't a long-range one. Still, he had plenty of experience using that kind of weapon, even when it was made out of his own magic.
Once Seris finished the weapons, she went to make the gear. Again, she only had to mount things and add the runes. Hence, the process was rather smooth and anticlimactic from Aion's perspective.
"You can't learn much watching this, right?" Seris asked. "Believe me, I am itching to teach you a few things about runes since it looked interesting, but I also feel like you would take my role as well in this mission if I do that."
"I am not good at making things, only destroying them," Aion said. "Well, eventually, I will have the leeway to learn how to make things as well, so I am not in a hurry."
Aion was already busy trying to perfect Force Release to make it work with his health as well, and that was already occupying most of his thoughts. In any case, Seris happily gave them the equipment that they would need for the next area… it was basically some really light gloves, boots, and a chest plate that would protect them from the cold.
"They also will make our bodies a bit lighter, so we will be able to dodge the attacks and move faster," Seris said with a large grin on her face.
Aion didn't want to think that most adults had to be ever so serious like his father, he was also goofy when he was twenty-five in his previous life, and he was a firefighter. Also, his mother could also be called childish most of the time when he was the center of the subject. Still, Seris looked like a kid who found new toys once she finished her work… but that only made him wonder if his perspective was right or was just drastic about heading on to face some problems…
