Chapter 67: Nekro and Apricot
“You did what?” Mom said, puzzled.
“I called the duke dumb and some other things,” I said, looking at mom on the couch in front of me with Amari next to her. I was sitting on the other couch with Nekro on my lap and Kayda next to me.
“Okay, tell me everything, and who is this?” Mom said, looking at Nekro on my lap.
“Oh, this is Nekro. you will understand where she comes in.” I said, starting to tell her the day’s event while Kayda added some things here and there.
“HAHAHAHAHA, I can’t believe you talked to the Duke like that, HAHAHA,” Amari said, laughing on the ground.
“I wanted to rip off his hair, but that was going a bit too far for the location,” I said, shrugging.
“Kayda, how did this happen. I understand my daughter is reckless 99% of the time, but in one morning, she pissed off the church, the duke, and found a necromancer and not a normal one at that.”
“99% of the time, my ass. I am not that reckless... am I?” I said, tilting my head.
.....
“Every time we went out to the city at the border, you were fighting someone or close to one breaking out.”
“What, but those guys always wanted to start shit with me. It’s not my fault.” I said, defending myself.
“What about the Baron son? Why were you about to cripple him?’
“He tried to order me to around,” I said.
“Why didn’t you just say your name. He should know about the Draig family.”
“I didn’t think of that at the time.”
“That’s my point. You act way too reckless sometimes and violence is the first thing you think of.” Mom said shaking her head.
“I don’t!?” I shouted in my defence.
“I don’t think it’s her that’s reckless. It’s more she is a trouble magnet,” Amari commented.
“...I can’t actually refute that,” I said, thinking about all my encounters.
“That might be true, but at the end of the day, every time you go out and are left unsupervised, something goes wrong.” Mom said with a sigh.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“That... that is also true,” I said, looking down at Nekro, who was looking up at me confused. “Nekro, is something wrong?”
“Yes, something is wrong. What did I think when I asked you to train me? Now that I think back, I was so dumb. I should have never asked you for anything.” Nekro said, frustrated.
“I am pretty sure it’s too late to regret it now,” I said, shrugging.
“No shit, you dumb fox,” Nekro said, narrowing her eyes at me.
“As I said, that’s something only Kayda is allowed to say,” I said, rubbing my fist against her head.
“Ow, ow, ow stop. I won’t say it again, sorry,” Nekro said, pleading in agony.
“Oh, it’s something only Kayda can say? Why is that?” Mom said, teasing.
“Did you say something midget?” I said, looking at mom with a straight face.
“Grrrr!”
‘Actually, why do I allow her to say that to me. I think it’s more that I don’t mind her saying.’ I thought, looking at Kayda, who was trembling. Seeing her struggle to hold in her laugh, I chuckled.
“Sigh, well, getting back more important things. Where the hell is my squad? I asked for them like an hour ago.” I said, annoyed.
“It’s only been 30 minutes. Calm down.” Mom said, shaking her head.
“But why are you looking for them anyway,” Kayda asked confused.
“I need them to look after Nekro for me, of course.”
“What why?” Nekro asked, puzzled.
“My last free day for a while isn’t over yet,” I said, glancing at Kayda.
“That is right. You can leave her to us, but I need to ask. Did you give her one yet?” Mom asks, confusing me for a second.
“Oh, you mean that! Yes, I did, but it is not as powerful as the other for obvious reason,” I said, remembering about the mini bomb.
“Put in what?” Kayda ask.
“Can I tell her?” I ask, looking at mom.
“Hmm, Kitsuna, you can tell her. She might help you improve it.” Mom said, thinking about it for a while.
“Okay, Amari here. When my squad gets here, give her to Apricot.” I said handing Nekro to Amari. Looking at Kayda, I said, standing up. “Let’s go.”
“Coming~,” Kayda said, walking after me.
“I feel like a toy,” Nekro said, disheartened.
“That’s because you are one!?” I yelled from the hallway, hearing what Nekro said.
(Stacy POV)
“Coming~,” Kayda said, walking after Kitsuna. Hearing Kayda talked like that. I could only shake my head.
“I feel like a toy,” Nekro said, disheartened.
“That’s because you are one!?” Kitsuna yelled from the hallway, hearing what Nekro said.
“What, she heard me?” Nekro asks, looking at me.
“Ha-ha, yes, her hearing is excellent. So, watch out what you say at times,” I said, smiling at Nekro.
“Is Kayda getting bolder? I didn’t think she was like that,” Amari ask me from next to me.
“She isn’t. She is a quite passive person in certain things, but because of Apricot, she feels threatened to lose her wifey,” I said, smirking.
“Those two aren’t together?” Nekro asked, confused.
“No, not yet. They only know each other for a week after all, but they are soul mates.” I explain, shrugging.
“Mom, do you think Sis will figure it out?” Amari said, tilting her head.
“She already has but is denying it using her soul isn’t from this world or something like that as an excuse to not think about it,” I explain, laughing.
“Are you sure?” Nekro asks this time.
“Kiddo, I am her mother. I know how she thinks,” I said. Narrowing my eyes at her, I added. “Now for you, who was the devil, your mother or father?”
“I don’t know. I have never met my parents.” Nekro said, looking down.
“Aah, sorry,” I said apologetically.
“It’s okay. You didn’t know.”
“Well, let’s just hope it’s your mother. If it’s your father, then you will become more aggressive when you get older, and we don’t want that.” I explain, rubbing Nekros’ head.
“How do you know this, Mom?” Amari asks, looking at me.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“It’s something the church told us about devils and half-breed devils. The males are the aggressive ones while the females are the smart ones. They told us this, so we had a reason to hunt them down.” I said with anger.
“The church did that?” Nekro asked with some fear.
“They tried to but failed years ago. However, they did install enough fear into the citizens to get into the capital.” I explain holding my anger.
“But why didn’t you guys do it?”
“Marquis Anabald are descendants of devils. They are demons now, but before the creation of The Kingdom of Daragon, they were actually devils.” I spoke.
“Oh, is that way Kitsu said they were a cult, not a church.”
“Well, that’s pretty much the reason, and there is another reason as well,” I said remembering our quest.
“Wait, Mom, what will the church do if they find out that Sis is a young primordial,” Amari asked anxiously.
“They will try to kill her of course. The church believes that Angels are above all, but there is no denying that primordial is the top. They are even above gods. So, to stop this, they hunt every primordial down to kill them.” I spoke.
“Did they succeed?”
“Pff No, they failed miserably. However, they never gave up and it all changed when the god of light came into the picture a couple of years ago. He had enough power to kill the primordial’s. So far, he only killed 5 out of 10 we know of.”
“What will happen if all the primordial were killed.”
“Nothing, all it will change is that gods are on top of the food chain,” I said, shrugging.
“But how was Kitsu born then if she is a young primordial?” Nekro ask.
“That little girl is a secret,” I said winking at her.
(Late Night)
(Kitsuna POV)
.....
‘Where is Apricot? It’s almost bedtime.’ I thought while getting in my sleeping position.
“Kitsu we are coming!?” Apricot shouted from the other side of the mansion.
“We? I guess Nekro is joining us.” I said chuckling a bit.
Not long after a smiling Apricot appeared in my vision with a comfortable Nekro in her arms.
“Apricot why are you moving closer to that monster?’ Nekro asked seeing towards we are walking to.
“Nekro, don’t worry about it she isn’t going to do something to us.”
“But that doesn’t answer my question. I thought we are going to go to your bed.” Nekro said making Apricot blush like a volcano.
“What the fuck!? I am fucken cupid!?” I shouted from under my tree.
