Chapter 1270

The bodyguard nodded. "He's been following you from the moment you walked out of the cafe.”

"Did you tell Theo about it?"

"I did."

| pursed my lips and asked no more.

The bodyguard received a call. He took out his phone and glanced at it before handing it to me. "Mr. Grant has

something to say to you.” | shook my head. "Takeback."

The bodyguard froze. Although he was put in a tough spot, he still tookout of the alley eventually.

The sky was completely dark when | got

home.

The villa was pitch-black, which confused me. Theo's car was parked out in the yard. Why did he not switch on

the lights if he was home? | switched on the lights and saw Theo sitting on the sofa in the living room.

He heard my return but did not turn back to look at me.

It was obvious that he was angry.

After changing my shoes, | walked upstairs.

I glanced at him. The man's countenance was grim, and his charming face was full of anger.

He looked atas well. Our eyes met. | wore a blank expression and averted my gaze indifferently.

Just as | was almost at the bedroom door, the man caught up with me.

He grabbed my arm and asked in a cold voice, "Why didn’t you answer the phone? Who's that man whe followed

you?”

My clothes were soaked. | was cold and tired. | was lacking energy too, so | did not want to talk to him and

merely replied blandly, “My phone ran out of battery. | guess you can say that he's an old friend.”

After saying that, I pulled out my arm from his and walked into the room.

| went to the closet to grab my pajamas and headed for the bathroom, planning to take a shower before going to

bed

Theo, however, stoppedat the door. "I hope there'll be no cold wars between us, Wanda.”

| looked up at him and asked, “Don't you see that my clothes are wet? Can you lettake a shower first?"

Theo froze before hurrying to say, "Hurry up and take a shower, then."

| pursed my lips and hurried into the bathroom.

It was autumn now, so the weather was very cold when it rained. It was much colder when it was nighttime.

| felt dizzy after the shower and thought that | must have caught a cold.

Theo sat on the bed looking at me. looking very much like he wanted to talk.

When Theo entered the bathroom, | blew my hair dry and wiped my face.

| planned to wait for him at first, but my eyelids grew heavier, so | went to lay down on the bed. I fell asleep in no

open my eyes.

When | woke up the next day, my head was hurting even more than last night. My throat was sore, and my cold

had gotten worse.

Theo had already left the house. We would soon return to Whaldorf City, so | got up from bed and started

packing before going to Fredericks Corporation.

On my way there, Shannon gavea call and spoke in her usual loud voice, "Bestie, do you have ttoday or

tomorrow? | want to ask you out for a meal together.”

Safety hazards were the most worristhing about this kind of project. It would be the holidays soon. If
