Chapter 424
| was taken aback and gave it sthought. I did not think that the other employees would be such
blabbermouths, so I said, "I've been alone all this while. No one else was here."
Theo narrowed his eyes and grabbed my hand. "Are you really going to lie?"
| frowned. "Let go."
Theo asked again, "Why is your hair wet?"
| honestly thought that this man was extremely annoying. | was impatient. "Cindy splashed tea on me. Do you
wanna splash her back for me?"
Theo smirked. "Now?"
< | did not know what this man meant. | removed my hands from his palms and said faintly, "It's not a big deal
anyway. I'll continue working."
As | was about to get up, Theo presseddown on my shoulders. "Why was she here?"
"We talked for a long while." | pinched the bridge of m y nose and felt a little weary. "I'm tired, | don’t want to
talk about it now."
Theo's lips were pursed. "Then you have to tell me
about it tonight when we're home."
My face was colored with impatience. "Okay, okay."
| picked up the cup on the table and drank a few mouthfuls of water. | asked nonchalantly, "Why did you come
back?"
Theo sighed. "Mason, Zedd, and | were nearby. We were having a work meeting. When | saw Cindy coming out of
your office building, | cover to take a look."
| knew my employees would not be such blabbermouths to tell Theo that Cindy had come. It turned out that
Theo had seen Cindy leaving.
"Go back, then.” It was not worth it to have two people's work delayed just because of Cindy.
Theo nodded. "You should take a shower and change your clothes. I'll leave when you're done."
I frowned. "Too much hassle."
"Are you waiting to get sick? Your hair and clothes are wet." Theo's tone was a little heavy. "It won't take you too
much tto shower and change. | know that because even when I'm working, I still have tto shower and
change."
| found his words unpleasant, so my expression showed my unhappiness. "Yes, I'm the busiest person i n the
entire world. I'm so busy | don’t even have tt o shower and change."
Theo's brows were tightly knitted together. "Wanda
Lane, why can't you be more obedient? I'm showing concern for you, not looking to argue with you."
| pursed my lips and did not say anything more.
"Be good." His tone softened. "I'll blow-dry your hair for you when you're done with your shower."
He was indeed caring, and | should not take his care for granted.
I nodded and headed to the restroom.
Showering and changing indeed did not take a long time, so | was out of the restroom after a while.
Theo was on a phone call by the window, so | stopped i n my tracks.
After overhearing a few sentences, | knew that he was on the phone with Cindy. | could not help but laugh coldly.
| knew Cindy would complain to Theo once she got back. She was exactly like a child.
"Cindy, you're not a kid anymore. You can't expect everything to go your way. No one is obligated to indulge in
your every whim, and Wanda especially won't do that. There's nothing between you two that needs to be dealt
with. | hope you'll stop looking for trouble with her." Theo's voice was laced with anger.
He looked over, perhaps after feeling my gaze on him.
