Chapter 349: Beating Up Guanglinzi
That undead king had been the trump card for the entire overseas rite of the Maoshan Sect, and he came to Huaxia on that trip specifically to make that undead king even more powerful.
Even so, there was only one thought in his mind at the moment.
Run!
“Oh, now you wanna run, huh? Too late!” Lu Xuan snorted coldly and went after him right away.
Guanglinzi was very quick on his feet and bolted first, yet Lu Xuan proved to be even faster. He managed to stand right at the entrance of the village and cut him off.
“So you don’t intend to let me live, huh?” Guanglinzi said angrily.
Lu Xuan then elaborated plainly, “It’s not me who won’t let you live, but you yourself. Are you gonna try to convince me that, if it had been for some other common folk instead of me standing in your way now, you’ll do something other than slaughter every last person in this village?”
Guanglinzi was immediately tongue-tied after hearing Lu Xuan’s words. If he planned to succeed, the entire ancestral grave of the Lu Clan and its surroundings would be turned into a massive ground for fostering undead.
Yin qi would congregate around places for such purposes. It was not only the jiangshi that liked yin qi but all manner of demons and fiends as well.
With spirit qi being restored to the world at the moment, such fiendish beings who were at first hardly seen once in centuries would grow like nobody’s business.
In the end, the phenomenon might even bring about vengeful spirits that were increasingly powerful. A great disaster would befall the village, which was not all that far away from the grave.
Everyone from the village would have ended up as food for those vengeful spirits.
Under such circumstances, every single person in the village would likely be wiped out. With the ancestral graves of the entire clan being so messed up, there was no doubt that the fates and destinies of all descendants of the clan would suffer a massive decline.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAll those from the clan would end up affected, even if they were nowhere near the village.
The implications would be very severe, which was why no one dared to do such a thing since ancient times.
It had been something that only the heretic sects and clans did in secret to a certain extent. It was unthinkable for even the renowned and righteous ones to consider it.
Even the Maoshan Sect, which used jiangshi as their main weapon in combat, never dared to do something that was deemed so sacrilegious. There were still other ways of developing undead kings, albeit at reduced efficiency and rate of progress.
Things were different back then, given that word was slow to travel all over the world. What happened in some remote village in some mountains might have gone totally unnoticed for even a decade or two, given that the location was just too remote.
If such an act was discovered in the current era, however, the whole world might come to know about it in just a single night.
“What about it? They’re all just a bunch of insects. If you don’t like what I’ve done, name your price. I’d be happy to make amends.” Guanglinzi then added, “I’d be willing to serve you from here on out, as long as you let me live.”
Lu Xuan then retorted casually, “You think so highly of your powers that you care not about the lives of common people. But to me, you’re hardly any better than them. As I said before, if you kill yourself, I’ll leave your body in one piece.”
“You want me to kill myself? Don’t make me laugh!”
Guanglinzi roared and performed a seal, shouting, “Lin bin dou zhe jie zhen lie zai qian, fire dragon!”
Guanglinzi threw a breath of fire that transformed into a fire dragon, which launched itself at Lu Xuan with fangs and claws bared.
Lu Xuan opened his mouth and blew a gust of wind.
His breath managed to snuff the fire dragon out just like that.
“Ji ji ru lu lin, heavenly thunder!”
As Guanglinzi shouted, the sky rumbled. A bolt of lightning immediately came down on Lu Xuan.
Lu Xuan responded by opening up his palm and grabbing that bolt in his hand. That bolt of lightning did not disperse right away but instead became a whip in his hand.
He then threw the whip at Guanglinzi right away.
Whack!
Having been hit by the whip, Guanglinzi wildly shrieked in pain while he was midair. Since whip was made of lightning, it behaved differently from normal whips. It was able to easily dispel every trace of the Shield of Vigor that Guanglinzi had all over him. historical
Guanglinzi was hit so hard that he fell from the sky soon after.
Whack!
Lu Xuan sent the whip of lightning at Guanglinzi once more, hitting him so hard that he shrieked again. He felt as if his body was about to come apart as blood sprayed everywhere.
Two pitch-black gashes were seen on his body, which was a result of being burned by the force of the lightning.
“So, you like thinking of those people to be insects, huh? Allow me to show you what it feels like to be treated like one!”
Lu Xuan’s expression was cold and furious. His attitude saw a drastic change ever since he was reincarnated, becoming more hateful towards evil acts and the people who commit them.
Some people saw mere mortals as insects while thinking themselves to be gods. To Lu Xuan, that kind of mentality was a complete joke.
Arrgghh!
Guanglinzi shrieked as he suffered yet another lashing. By then, there was no telling just how many lashes he had taken from the whip of lightning. He wanted to run more than anything else, but it proved to be futile; he was quickly pulled back by the whip the second he began to run.
There was just no possible way for him to escape. He finally realized why Lu Xuan was such a notorious figure among all the Airborne Realm beings around; the young man was truly as powerful as everyone made him out to be.
Boom!
Guanglinzi crashed to the ground as he suffered one more hit. He was so severely damaged by the flogging he suffered in the air, not an inch of his flesh remained undamaged.
“Hmph, serves you right.”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmSha Tongshen looked down and sighed at Guanglinzi, who was then in a crater.
If Guanglinzi had never shown up, he would not have been in such a predicament. Not only did he do so, but he also got on Lu Xuan’s bad side.
Sha Tongshen felt a bone-chilling shiver running all over him, making him even more reluctant to offend Lu Xuan. It was only then that he knew without a doubt that Lu Xuan definitely was not something whom the Maoshan Sect could afford to offend at all.
Lu Xuan had already developed an awful impression of the Maoshan Sect because of what happened during the siege of the Special Task Force’s base.
What’s worse, that resentment had now deepened even further. Sha Tongshen felt utterly dejected at the thought of Lu Xuan being the one to ultimately call the shots among the cultivators in all of Huaxia in the future.
“I’ll leave it to you to handle the rest. Do not let me down,” Lu Xuan said.
Sha Tongshen immediately replied, “Of course. I’d definitely give you a satisfactory answer within a month.”
“Right.”
Lu Xuan nodded and flew to his little sister’s side and picked her up. “Alright, time to go, little fella. Let’s go home.”
“Yeah,” Lu Guoguo nodded obediently.
It was only after seeing Lu Xuan off that the people of the Lu Clan’s village could finally breathe a sigh of relief. To them, it felt as if they had just witnessed something akin to a clash of titans.
Before this, none of them actually thought that there were people truly capable of fighting midair. They deemed what they saw to truly be the stuff of gods.
However, they were nonetheless relieved to find that the victor to be someone from the Lu Clan.
At that moment, everyone turned to look at Lu Tianxiang with heated eyes. Lu Tianxiang’s status had just skyrocketed due to having such a powerful son.
“So this is the world of cultivators, eh? Man, that’s brutal!” Lu Jiaxuan said as she looked at Guanglinzi, who seemed to be pinned in place by Sha Tongshen using talismans.
Deep down, she harbored ridiculous delusions about the world of cultivators before what had happened before her eyes.
It was only then that she realized how na?ve she had been. It was only then that she realized that the world of cultivators was truly one where might makes right.
