Thrown Into A New World: Let The Punishment Begin!
Chapter 685 - Special SkillChapter 685 - Special Skill
The moment Marquess Samed's eyes met with his etcher's, they formed an unbreakable bond that linked their souls together.
Over the next few days, this pair of etcher and etched used their free time to discover more about the other and learn new things about their bond.
The Marquess was no longer frustrated about being stuck in the Tanner fief as he had succeeded in finding the etcher whom he had been longing for all his life.
'In a way, I should be grateful to her.' The silver-haired man chuckled while looking at his favorite pupil.
If it weren't for her adamant attitude about confining him in the Tanner fief which the Duchess had agreed to then he never would have found his fated beast.
Not to mention that he would have dragged his sister and little nephew to their deaths if they had adhered to their former plans and headed on a journey to the other fiefs during that summer.
His main aim for that summer was to go on a quest around the fiefs in search of the beast that was fated to him.
Despite failing in exploring the other fiefs, he had found the one who had been fated to him right there in the Tanner fief.
'Fate brought us together.' He smiled in absolute glee that things had worked out for the better.
While he may constantly taunt and argue with his elder sister for snatching away his freedom during that time, there was no way that he could deny the fact that due to her stubborn nature he had both saved his life and even found his etcher.
Therefore, he had an embarrassed flush that appeared on his cheeks at the thought of how he had been a nuisance to his sister during the lockdown.
Even after he found his etcher, he continued to grumble every time this topic was brought up.
However, deep down, he still appreciated both his pupil and his sister for what they had done both for him and the safety of their family.

At first, he had not believed the dream that she had used as an excuse to stop him from traveling through the land.
However, now he could not belittle that dream as it had managed to save his life and that of the people who were supposed to accompany him on his journey.
Therefore, now he had made up his mind to be of help to her in any way that she deemed possible.
"Thanks to the time that we spent together during the lockdown, I learned a lot about my talented etcher." Marquess Samed exclaimed while concealing the other thoughts that he had just earlier.
By now Yvonne and the rest had already deciphered how this man knew of everything that had taken place outside thanks to the explanation they received from this etcher and her etched.
Since they now knew of Keira's unique traits, they were able to conclude on what might have taken place.
Keira could view the world through the eyes of any bird she had met in person.
Therefore, she was able to see what had taken place outside through the assistance of some bird that might have been present around the garden.
Since Keira was not around, none of the three etchers who had been witnesses to the match between Topher and Yvonne were aware of what that smart bird had done.
They had not sensed the raven's aura as she was still inside the mansion with her master and had only used a normal bird to do her bidding.
The words which Marquess Samed said next only confirmed those inferences that the others had made.
"Keira can not only see through any other familiar bird's eyes but she can also make them act according to her commands." He smirked with pride apparent on his face as he revealed his etcher's special powers.
'Hypnosis?' The little girl glanced at the bird whose fascinating eyes were like jewels embedded in her.
Looking into those diamond-like eyes gave off an enchanting sensation, making them like the bird every time they looked at her.
Now Yvonne was beginning to understand why this was so.
'Her eyes make people form a favorable opinion about her.' She concluded after a brief contemplation.
"When she saw that something interesting was about to take place outside, she let me take a look as well." Marquess Samed grinned as he disclosed the reason for his ability to know what had transpired when he wasn't even around.
Being Keira's master had its perks as the talented etcher could share with him what she could see.
Looking into her eyes would allow the images she was seeing to be projected into his mind.
Therefore, while he was sitting with the Countess and Viscountess, taking part in their conversation, he was also viewing the fight between the two children.
Keira acted as a mediator between the bird perched on some branch watching the sight of the match and her Master who was seated before her.
That brief moment when their eyes had met many minutes ago was when she had transferred the images she was receiving to her master for his entertainment.
"I even have a name for this skill." The Marquess boasted with his chest puffed out.
Raylene and Trisha were still ignorant about what had taken place outside but were curious to hear what he had named Keira's skill.
On the other hand, the Tanner boys who already knew of what it was, were both rolling their eyes at him.
"The All-seer's eyes," He revealed in an enthusiastic manner which elicited a surprised gasp from the twins who were impressed with it.
Topher too was alternating his gaze between the Marquess and his etcher after the name was revealed.
However, the Tanner boys did not share this excitement with the others.
"Uncle, we spoke about this earlier as well." Topher interrupted the anticipation that had been bubbling up in the Parlor.

Yvonne wondered what it was that he was objecting to as she too could not deny that this was a useful skill to possess.
This skill could be especially useful if Marquess Samed needed to spy on someone without gaining any suspicions on him or anyone else.
Considering how none of the etchers who had been outside had sensed someone spying on them, she deemed this to be a valuable weapon to have in their arsenal.
'Now that I think of it, I still haven't discovered what Demon's skills are.' She realized and decided that she needed to spend more time with him to learn more about him.
She had thought that having a higher intelligence, forming a mental link, and higher strengths were the only special characteristics of etchers which she was already impressed with.
However, now she was gaining a new perspective about etchers altogether.
Therefore, she wished to know what else they were capable of.
'Ah! Even Fryght has one special skill.' She gasped inwardly at the discovery that she had made a while ago.
Fryght could shift his appearance as he pleased which was something she had not seen Demon doing which meant that it was a skill unique to the wolfhound.
"What will your 'All-seer's eyes' do when there are no birds around, Uncle?" Topher's sarcastic voice awoke the child from her thoughts.
The question from the Duke's heir was a valid one as even Keira's abilities had their limitations.
She could not see through the eyes of just any animal, it had to be a bird and it had to be one which she had met in person.
Therefore, how could Marquess Samed call that skill 'All-seer' when it did not live up to its name?
Marquess Samed grumbled incoherent words while glancing at his nephew who always had to be a stick in the mud.
Even when he had first coined this word and revealed it during dinner before the members of the Tanner family, Taylor and Beatrice were excited to hear about it at first.
However, their excitement faded when Topher made his thoughts known to them.
The same was happening right now as the excitement on the faces of those present here had also waned after hearing his logical reasoning.
"If that is the issue then there is a simple solution for that.." A child's gentle voice echoed in the silence that had overtaken the parlor.
