Chapter 848: Her Calculative Moves
Marquess Samed was unable to grasp the meaning hidden behind the little girl’s words but recalled a certain interesting incident she had shared with him in the past.
While Yvonne had not revealed the conversation regarding boys that had taken place when she had attended the Princess’s tea party, she indeed had mentioned the crude word Mae Blaise had mouthed while looking at her.
Her parents were the first to know about this and when she had met the Marquess for class on a later date, she had briefly touched upon it when he had inquired about her experience during the tea party.
He was especially curious since this was the first time she had been invited personally by the Princess to the Palace as in the past she had been there with her family when the King had summoned them all.
Therefore, he had urged her to speak of what she had learned from this event as all tea parties were simply a way to build connections and friendships in the social circles.
Yvonne had been cooperative as she explained how they had spent time on that day.
While praising the mango ice cream she had gobbled up in the Princess’s Palace, she had also thrown the ‘bitch’ incident out in the open.
.....
Just like her parents, Marquess Samed had also been surprised at first but then sighed when he realized that she would not know what it could mean.
However, he was surprised to hear of Mae Blaise’s bold actions.
Nevertheless, he too did not explain what that word meant to the innocent little girl but looking at the words she had uttered just earlier, Marquess Samed had his doubts.
‘She might have known what it meant all along...’ He inferred as she was quite a schemer and knew how to ensure that things would work out in her favor.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHis doubtful assumptions were right since Yvonne had known what Mae meant but had pretended to be ignorant so that she might bring this matter up before her parents.
She had planned on using CLOVER to teach the Blaise family a lesson and from what she learned from the Marquess earlier, her father had made arrangements to achieve the same result through his own methods.
Being one of the biggest competitors of the Blaise family business, it was easy for her father to make things difficult for Earl Blaise who had done a terrible job at setting the right example for his daughter.
Yvonne chuckled after recalling how infuriated her father had been when she first revealed this incident to him.
If her mother had not stopped him then he surely would have rushed all the way to the Blaise household, asking them for an explanation.
Thankfully, her mother was calm while dealing with this situation and thus had averted any crisis from occurring on that day.
However, now that she was hearing about this matter, she could guess that her father must have targeted Earl Blaise after giving it much thought.
Therefore, she would not interfere with his way of seeking justice for her but this did not mean that she would take back the decision she had made back then.
‘He can act as he pleases and I can work in the direction I had planned all along.’ She smirked before looking right into the Marquess’s crimson eyes.
The other man had an uneasy feeling each time he witnessed that sinister look appearing on his pupil’s face and today was no different for him.
“Since Earl Blaise still has the time and energy to go shopping for someone else, shouldn’t he be investing them in his dwindling business?” Yvonne’s smile turned into a sweet and innocent one but the Marquess wasn’t fooled.
Though her words seemed to be without deeper meaning, he was sure that there was something bubbling up in that brilliant mind of hers.
Therefore, he only raised his brow and waited to hear what she had in mind.
Yvonne sat upright before tapping a finger on the armrest, taking a moment to form the words she was about to utter.
“CLOVER will be ready to open up its first store in the Commercial District soon.” She revealed what she had come up with.
Her father had gifted her two stores located in good areas of the Commercial District out of which only one had been under renovation all along.
Yvonne had planned to use the other store for another purpose which she had not yet finalized so she had not taken it into consideration for now.
However, the store which she had designated as CLOVER’s first branch, the renovations would be completed soon.
Once it was done, the schedule she had set up for CLOVER could be initiated.
Marquess Samed nodded when he heard about her plans for her business.
She had mentioned her desire to enter the noble market and now that CLOVER had gained higher clients than the Blaise family business, it seemed to be the right decision.
Yvonne had carefully calculated her moves and knew that the chances of CLOVER gaining popularity in the noble market was great as well.
One of the first steps she had made towards this goal was the little secret gift she had sent to her two brothers on the day they had left for the Royal Academy six months ago.
In a delicately-packaged and exquisite-looking wooden box, she had placed two pieces of soap that she had obtained during her trip to check on the Hagen family working for her in the Valente fief.
These soaps were the byproducts of the research and experiments done by the Hagen family’s head, Tim, after months of toil and effort.
Each had a different scent and was made using different raw materials to give a unique experience which was unlike the regular soaps that had been sold in the past.
Two large pieces of soaps had been placed in the gift box which Yvonne had prepared for her brothers.
It was not just a gift for her brothers but also the means for her to spread CLOVER’s name among the boys studying with them in the academy.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmShe had asked Howard to open the box only when he reached the academy and this was when he had found the little note that had also been placed inside.
Yvonne had mentioned in the note that she hoped for them to use these soaps and let her know how they worked out for them.
Though she was sure of how they functioned as she herself had begun using one of the lavender-scented soaps made by Tim Hagen ever since she visited him, she wished to gain the opinion of her brothers as well.
The soap lathered well, left a distinct scent even after it was washed off, and finally made her skin softer than before.
The raw materials that Tim had used for these experiments were of the best quality so it guaranteed satisfaction.
Yvonne had personally selected these samples when she visited his workshop which increased their chances of success as well.
Therefore, she had sent those soaps as a gift for her two brothers, knowing full well that they would not miss out on the chance of bragging about it.
Since they could not publicize that the products had been made by their sister’s company, they would work around this obstacle in creative ways.
This was exactly what had happened as she had heard from Howard that the boys who studied with them were curious to know about the pleasant scent coming from them when they met each day.
Taylor and Howard had proclaimed with proud faces that their baby sister had brought back the latest creations from the company named CLOVER when she visited the Valente fief.
Everyone had, by now, believed that CLOVER was a name synonymous with the Valente family so they did not doubt their words.
Instead, they were curious to hear more about the latest items from that new but popular business.
Thanks to this, her brothers had done just as she had expected and advertised her business, free of cost and with great enthusiasm.
The young boys had to undergo tough training and would often reek of sweat and dirt at the end of the day.
However, when they met again for dinner, Taylor and Howard were often refreshed and gave off pleasant scents, each distinct from the other.
Therefore, when they finally learned what was causing it, they were eager to get their hands on one themselves.
Despite their enthusiasm, the boys had rejected them right away and declared that these were special gifts their baby sister had prepared for them.
‘The rarer the item, the greater the demand.’ Yvonne giggled as the boys had acted according to her expectations even when they were ignorant of her true intentions.
