Titan Rising Online: World Breaker
Chapter 294 294: Diamond Prism Skills IWith that out of the way, the question of which direction to move towards now arose. The corpse of the octopus was floating and it served as a platform for Cole to seat on, giving him a few precious moments where he could think and plan out his next steps.
Much like the first time he had gotten to the fourth floor, he was isolated and had no idea which direction he should move in. The quests that he had received was more than enough to give him directions on this floor, letting him know what to do. But that did not help in giving him directions or magically creating a map in his head and telling him to go this way or that way.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtIt sucked, he had quest markers on the first floor and the second floor. Nothing like that on the third or fourth floor, seems to him that perhaps the first two floors might have been tutorial floors. But considering there were 25 floors in total, perhaps wasn't it better that there should have been more tutorial floors. Cole couldn't answer that, even with all of the information that had come forth, they still had only a fraction of the picture of what they were dealing with.
The system seems all powerful, but it has proven already that there were forces within it that had a lot of power and could affect this integration and incursion in a variety of colorful ways. In the end there was no other option but to keep moving forwards and fighting, it was all they could do. But since he had some time on his hands before he had to move, it was time to fix his largest shortcomings... the lack of dedicated attacks skills.
But then against there wasn't much he could do about it, the skills received from prisms were random, and would always be skills that fit him and would be unique to him. Not that he was unsatisfied, every skill he has gotten from prisms, his class, and when he first got his race has been invaluable, and he knew there would be a Transformation for all of them once he gets to level 100, but it was time for Cole to cover all his basis and make sure he had skills in all his stats, more specifically attacks skills.
He has realized that everything he knew about the grades of skill were useless. Here all that matter was the strength of your stats and the way that you used said skills. Plus for every skill that is used, there was always a counter for it. Which meant that depending on usage, even a skill from a bronze rank could defeat one that was gold rank if it was a perfect counter and it's user had a good enough mastery of it and above all, had the stats to back it up.
And with [Chaos Blast] evolving to [Chaos Lord] and it even evolving further into a technique or styles as Cole had taken to calling them, unleashing his inner otaku. He knew now that there was no weak skill, but the higher rank skills, hit harder, and were a lot more flashy than the lower ranked ones. In the end it was all up to the mastery and use oft heir owners.
At the moment he had 4 diamond rank prisms, three of them having titles. He had five gold rank prisms without titles and had six of them with titles. Then as for his stats that were still missing skills, Cole cursed himself for his oversight. [Assassinate] was an attack skill, and one that has helped him quite well in causing decisive damage to his enemies, he couldn't believe he had forgotten about it.
Perhaps he had too many skill and should. It worry about adding more to it. But then again it was common knowledge that he needed to compete every skill slots for all of his stats in order to get to level 100. Which meant 5 skills for each of his six stats. It was time to fill it up, because from here on out Cole would be rushing with one mind to level 100. He was level 73 now, the octopus had brought him close to 74.
Now fighting against small fries was no longer the way, he had to go after creatures at the peak of the silver rank in droves or battle against gold rank monsters and individuals and win in order to get to the next level. But apart from that was the gathering of his stats. The bonus from leveling up were not enough to push the stats forward, the excess points needed to rank a stat up came from prisms.
And luckily for Cole it also came from his [Sin Eater] [Sin Reaper] and [Soul Eater] skills. So getting the stats to rank up wouldn't be too hard, he just needed to be faced against stronger enemies or lots of weaker ones. But he got a feeling that there would be diminishing returns. He noticed in his last battle with the northern Glade that some darklings no longer even gave him stat points and the energy they gave was pitiful, in the ones or if he was lucky two.
But back to the matter at hand. His Charisma Stat had 2 skill slots left. His perception stat also had 2 skill slots left, his Intelligence Stat had 2 skill slots, dexterity had 2, his attunement stat had 1 skill slot left, and his soul stat had 2 skill slots left. All in all that left him 11 slots for 11 new skills.
No matter how Cole looked at it, that was a lot of skills to have, a lot!. They would effectively change his method of combat in the gold rank and beyond. They could be quite a lot to keep up with, but ultimately this was a good thing and he was highly expectant, especially as there would three titled diamond prisms and six titled gold rank prisms going into those stats to generate skills, while the remaining three would get 1 untitled diamond Prism and 2 untitled Gold prisms.
He couldn't help but chuckle in amusement as he looked to the horizon while seating on a monster's corpse…..Chaos has come to the 5th floor.
