Chapter 682 What Do You Want?
More importantly, the Britts were also present. By saying she'd always liked James, Jolene
basically admitted to making a fool out of the Britts when she previously agreed to the
engagement with Brandon.
Many people surreptitiously stole glances at the Britts in the hall to see their expressions.
As expected, they clearly weren't thrilled.
Brandon didn't exactly like Jolene, but at that moment, everyone looked at him with a
sympathetic expression as if they were sorry that he'd been fooled.
He'd initially decided not to pursue the matter, but if he left it at that, everyone would
think he was too afraid of the Walters to retaliate. Wanting to uphold his dignity, he raised
his glass and walked toward Jolene.
At that moment, Jolene was busy socializing and receiving well wishes. Tonight was easily
the most glorious day in her whole life. Regardless of what others said, she was basically
half a Windsor now, and she'd successfully elevated herself to a higher status. Even if

congratulate her.
"You're quite good at scheming, Miss Walter," Brandon said. That was the first time the
two met and talked after the incident with James happened.
Jolene didn't dare to face Brandon and had been avoiding him. At the same time, Brandon
didn't look for her either. Now, on this occasion, she couldn't hide from him even if she
wanted to. They were bound to see each other there one way or another.
As Jolene's gaze landed on Brandon, she inexplicably felt a little frightened. "Mr. Britt, I'm
sorry about what happened before. You know, at that time, I was forced by my father."
"Oh? So, everything you said to me was a lie, was it?" Brandon sneered. He remembered
clearly that Jolene had told him she liked him before but didn't want to settle down so
quickly. Now, she was saying that she'd been forced by Graham instead. She was capable
of nothing but lies; none of the words that she'd said held any truth.
Jolene forced a smile. Only they knew what had happened between them. Fortunately, she
didn't leave any evidence. Therefore, she just needed to deny she'd ever said that she
liked him.
"Mr. Britt, we know you like Jo, but she doesn't like you. Isn't it pointless for you to
continue pestering her?" Jolene's friend spoke up. Previously, they'd thought Brandon was
not a bad choice. But now that Jolene had James, Brandon was way inferior as a suitor.
"That's right, Mr. Britt. If you really like Jo, you should wish her well," another friend of
Jolene’s added.
Brandon looked at them, then at Jolene, who remained silent. He snorted and said nothing;
he just turned around and left.
Seeing him leave, Jolene breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you for speaking up for me."
"Jo, you're too nice. It was obviously Brandon who'd been pestering you. Why did you even
speak to him so politely?" One of her friends was particularly angry. If one didn't know
better, one would have thought that Brandon had offended her somehow.
Jolene smiled and didn't say anything.

After having a few drinks with her acquaintances, she went to the washroom. She'd had
quite a lot to drink that night. She stood in front of the mirror in the bathroom and
adjusted her dress. It was her big day, and she wanted to make sure every inch of her was
perfect.
Suddenly, a figure appeared behind her and hugged her tightly.
"Ah!"
Jolene screamed instinctively, but the person covered her mouth with his hand. "What are
you screaming for? Do you want everyone to come and have a look?"
Hearing that, Jolene closed her mouth and dared not make any noise.
"What do you want, Brandon?" Jolene gritted her teeth and turned around to glare at him.
With a chuckle, Brandon roamed his hands all over her waist, showing no intention of
letting go.
Jolene's face was flushed red with anger. "Let me go!"
"There's no need to be so upset. It's not like I haven't touched you before."
When he believed that Jolene would eventually marry him, he was respectful toward her.
Since that was no longer the case, he didn’t need to treat her politely.
