So, Harlan answered the call without hesitation and all he could hear was his secretary’s panicked
rants saying, “Boss, this is bad! I have no idea why, but all of our business partners called to cancel our
work contracts. Those who had signed a contract with us told us that they don’t mind paying for the
breach of contract compensation as long as they could cease working with us.”
“What? All of them?” Harlan looked shocked when he heard that.
“What’s going on, honey? What does he mean by canceling our contracts?” Angelica asked as she
also had a bad feeling about the situation.
Harlan refused to believe any of it, so he asked again, but he received the exact same response.

Harlan kept his phone away and explained in a defeated look. “Someone is going out of their way to
target us. All of our business partners have canceled their working contracts with us.”
“Oh gosh, we’re doomed. We’re so screwed. This… This happened way too suddenly now, right?”
Angelica panicked and could not believe what had just happened. However, when she recalled what
Nicholas said to them before he left and said, “This wouldn’t be… Mr. Wexler’s doing, right? But, it has
just been a few minutes, right? This is impossible, right? I mean, he’s just one man and it’s impossible
for him to convince so many people to side with him in such a short time, right?”
Although Nicholas was more than capable of destroying Harlan’s company, getting so many people to
side with him must have cost him a lot. Besides, he would at least need two to three months to pull
everything off. All of this was too outrageous to them.
“Don’t panic, Harlan. Hurry up and call your grandfather so he can help you out,” said Clarrisa
“That’s right, honey. Grandpa knows alot and he must know what to do now!” Angelica added.
Harlan was only able to snap out of his panic as soon as they said that. So, he took a deep breath to
calm himself down and said, “Alright, I’ll call him right now.”
However, as soon as he was about to make the call, his phone rang and coincidentally, it was his
grandfather calling him.
Harlan felt nervous again as the same bad feeling washed over him once more. He wondered why his
grandfather would call him at a moment like this.
“Honey, grandpa’s calling you. Hurry up and pick up the call,” said Angelica when she noticed Harlan’s

This snapped him out of his trance and immediately answered the call. “Grandpa…”
However, as soon as he uttered a word, he was immediately interrupted by his grandfather’s fury. “You
insolent child! Who in the world did you offend now? What could you have done to have the patriarchs
of all four great families call and warn me not to help you or else our family’s legacy would be
completely wiped from this city. I have no idea who exactly have you offended and I’m not interested to
know. Our family is cutting ties with you from now on! Your future will be decided by fate now!”
“Grandpa, I…” The call ended abruptly before Harlan could explain.
None of his calls could go through after that. He could not believe that his grandfather had just blocked
his number. This completely stunned him.
Both Clarrisa and Angelica who were eavesdropping looked pale in that instant as they wondered how
outrageous the situation was to have the patriarchs of all four great families to call Harlan’s grandfather.
They knew that Nicholas would not have the influence or the power to pull that off. This made them
wonder if all of this was a result of them offending Skylar.
