Elder Malachi kept his gaze on Noah for a few seconds, until a laugh escaped his mouth. His voice ringing out the next instant he was done laughing, "What gives you the notion that I want something sir Noah?."
Noah felt at a loss of words, this wasn't going how he expected.
"Calm down, I have no hostile intent towards you. I simply want to talk," Elder Malachi spoke, his mental waves expanding to wrap around Noah and pull him up, while elder Malachi floated higher into the sky.
"Come let's find a higher talking space," Elder Malachi said. The duo continued to fly higher and higher for a few minutes until elder Malachi stopped. At this height Noah couldn't clearly see buildings anymore only the outline of the regions.
Though he was currently being carried by elder Malachi's consciousness, the effects of gravity felt lesser than normal.
A frown stayed put on Noah's face during those minutes of flying. Currently he would only be able to survive a fall from that height unless he used a lot of Mana, which he wasn't ready to do.
"Do not fret, I won't drop you; it think, and even if I do, you might pull out a surprise," Elder Malachi smiled.
Noah limited himself to stare at the elder even though he didn't like his unsure answer about dropping him, he didn't say anything.
Though Noah put on a bold ground, deep down he wasn't comfortable with the man's powerful presence.
Despite the fact that he couldn't sense elder Malachi due to his Incredible control over his aura, Noah's instincts told him that nothing in his arsenal could help him survive an attack from the expert.
"Why are we even up here?," Noah eventually asked after a minute or so of silence.
"I have an offer for you." Elder Malachi stated while sweeping his gaze on their surroundings, seemingly admiring the scenery.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtNoah furrowed his brows at those words, but remained silent to let the man talk.
"As most people have told you: your existence is interesting and many find you valuable even the royal family, and unlike most of the other winners, you have no attachment to any noble family. Which makes you all the more interesting." The man started slowly, his words sinking into Noah ears and mind.
"I'm also sure that you've heard many offers from other individuals, and I advice you to turn them down if you are actually considering them," He stopped for a second. Noah's voice ringing out the instant he was done.
"Why should I. It's not like you know the best for me or something. I respect your power but I refuse to listen to those words," Noah spoke calmly.
A cold smile immediately appeared on elder Malachi's face when Noah was done. Words proceeding out of his mouth the next second.
"You are a smart man Noah, and I'm sure you understand your current situation. I'mm also sure Abigail has Informed you about your debt to the royal family," He spoke coldly.
Noah stayed silent after those words his mind racing through thoughts, things were getting a bit dangerous.
"How exactly am I owing the royal family?," Noah eventually said, confusion spreading in his mind, while he also ignored the fact that elder Malachi had stopped with the formalities.
"That is for you to figure out Noah. All I have to tell you is that by the time the rewards are done being distributed you'll be questioned, and a negative answer will lead to dire consequences." Elder Malachi explained still in a cold expression.
"What exactly are these consequences," Noah tried to provoke an answer.
Elder Malachi limited himself to keep his cold gaze on Noah's figure. Noah feeling a slight pressure from those eyes.
A few seconds passed, the two remaining in that position. "Come, it's time for the banquet," Elder Malachi suddenly said shooting downwards.
Noah shot downwards with him, but when they got to a certain height Elder Malachi's consciousness unwrapped itself from Noah. Leaving him in a free fall while Elder Malachi's figure basically disappeared.
The sudden lack of the force which was elder Malachi's consciousness, caused Noah to get disoriented, as he spun in the air, trying his best not to throw up and getting his bearing.
Noah's eyes eventually went cold after he managed to re-orient himself. His mind racing to find a solution to that unexpected situation, which it did, but first he had to gain an idea of how far he was from the ground.
Realizing that he was still multiple kilometers from tye ground, Noah gritted his teeth while he started his plan.
Stretching both his palms towards the ground where he thought the building he exited was. Noah closed his eyes, while he imagined a massive platform made solely from densely packed electrical energy.
Solidifying the imagination In his mind, Noah opened his eyes as his Mana moved to do as he commanded it.
A blue wave of energy exited Noah's body as surprisingly he needed over 500mp to do what he planned.
Clenching his teeth Noah watched as a massive orange wall made of densely packed lightning flickered into existence a bit far from where he currently was.
Noah had to keep a constant mental connection with the platform to not allow it disperse, which wasn't all too hard, only annoying.
With the real solution done, Noah took a a deep breath as his body sped up without his consent.
It got to a particular point where his clothes threatened to catch fire, but the inscriptions on them activated at that point. Stopping that physical effect from occuring.
Noah eventually arrived on the platform, but Instead of stopping his body dug into the platform which he had made only a few tens of meters thick.
The platform managed to reduce the speed he was falling at, so when he struck the ground which was surprisingly the large courtyard of the mansion, he didn't feel any pain, but anger.
Sweeping his gaze on his surroundings he found a smiling elder Malachi. "I knew you would survive it," The man laughed walking inside the mansion
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmNoah clenched his fists in anger. Taking a deep breath he calmed himself down. 'I'm not strong enough to take him yet,' he thought, while dusting his body. Luckily for him there were no guards to watch what had happened.
Walking inside the ballroom, Noah felt surprised to find that it was completely empty, but on the other side of the large room was a black door which probably lead to another room.
He sighted the figure of Abigail walking towards him but he paid less attention. Walking towards the black door, Noah let Abigail hold his arm.
She said nothing throughout the short moments of walking to the black door, and still said nothing even after Noah pushed it open.
Immediately he did that, a larger room than that of the ballroom entered his sight. Noah at this point had stopped getting shocked by how much space buildings in Cregar had.
Inside the room were many rows of very long tables and seats. On these white clothed tables were all sorts of delicacies which ranged from meat to wine, and sitting on the chairs were all the guest.
"Follow me." Abigail whispered walking towards a section in the room dedicated to the winners of bozolom.
During those short seconds Noah managed to inspect the room more.
Beside the section dedicated to the winners of bozolom, was a pulpit of sorts. 'Probably for a speech or something,' Noah thought when his eyes landed on the pulpit.
Ignoring the fine decorations of the banquet room, and the stares of the noblemen, Noah and Abigail sat next to each other.
Inspecting the individuals on the table, Noah saw the other six winners of the game, four men and two women.
When his eyes met theirs, they would nod at him in respect going on to eat their meals.
Noah didn't bother to start any small talks. His mood wasn't good enough for those interactions, he only anticipated what would happen after the banquet was done, and nothing else.
Hours eventually passed. Noah barely really eating the food before him. He had only continued his thinking and had eventually gotten ideas on why he owed the royal family, but they sounded unreasonable to him.
Eventually something happened apart from the chattering of people.
A finely dressed man walked up the pulpit, his loud voice spreading out in the room encompassing all of it.
