Pride's flaming figure appeared in a white room and crashed into a series of bottles arranged in stacks. She didn't stop moving until she crashed into the wall of the strange room.
A loud high-pitched bark escaped her frightened figure, but Noah was there to calm her down.
"Easy girl. Easy!" He yelled in a reassuring tone as she tried to comprehend their location, her eyes radiating the fear she felt. Noah of course knew where they were.
In a last-second resort to save their lives, he had brought them both into his cultivation room. He honestly hadn't known whether he could bring another body apart from his, but it worked. Maybe because the system knew his intentions.
It took Noah a few seconds to realize that his breathing had gotten fast and he had to calm himself down.
Death had been so close merely seconds before. His reaction was normal.
'What was that thing?' Noah wondered, sitting on the ground with an exhale. Pride still looked shaken from the event, but she was beginning to calm down since he did too.
Noah recalled the features of the thing and felt himself shudder in terror. He had never seen anything like it.
Its skin was deathly pale, the palest he had ever seen. Its mouth was only a straight slit, but it had revealed rows of sharp teeth. However, even that hadn't been the most terrifying detail.
Its black eyes had been. All four of them.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThey featured a crimson red iris featuring a yellow ring inside it. Gazing into it had felt like gazing at the devil himself, he couldn't explain the type of fear he felt.
They said the eyes were the windows to one's soul. The thing's soul had to be the very embodiment of evil.
The creature had revealed an amused gaze and its strange mouth had curved into a smile. By every means it would have killed them. But Noah wasn't normal.
A few deep breaths allowed Noah back into his right mind, and he could resume thinking straight. Thanks to his cultivation's room ability to take him to places he had been before, he had the idea of returning to the wasteland before returning to the city.
He had to report his sightings to the guild, and also report the town. They had harbored that monstrosity. And it had probably terrorized them.
Noah only had one regret about the situation, and that had been not utilizing his inspection ability on the thing to know what it was.
He would need to rely solely on his description, but that was already more than enough. Hopefully, the guild would have records about the entity since he wanted to know what it was too.
Noah spent a bit over half an hour simply sitting and replaying his memories. By this point, even Pride had stopped being afraid, and she had even begun to explore that strange place.
Noah stored all his potions in his inventory to keep that place safe. He didn't want to know what would happen if she ingested one of his potions.
'Come,' Noah ordered Pride and she did as he said. Her left front leg was still broken and she had to limp about, but she didn't seem in pain anymore.
Getting on her back, Noah asked the system to teleport them with a picture of his desired destination in mind.
His environment changed after the light of teleportation wrapped around them, and Noah found himself and Pride falling toward the dried-up surface of Cregar.
He had never touched the ground of the environment, so the system could only take him to the sky.
It was still night time and the moon still shone high above them.
Pride quickly found her balance and began to flap her wings while Noah held on to her.
She soon began to fly straight up when a strange force suddenly picked the both of them. Noah felt as if he could fly In the range of that force., but he opted to stay on Pride since she was faster.
With blazing wings, pride propelled herself higher with one powerful flap of her wings, and the surface of Cregar began to draw farther and farther until miles upon miles of land surface opened up in the range of their sights.
Things changed when they entered a darkness, however. A golden light blinked in the whole area and Noah felt his crest buzz before an even stronger force took hold of them and slung them upward.
Pride and Noah flew out of a pit where gravity returned to normal, and she spread her wings to glide downwards.
Shockingly they arrived through the same pit as there were about three or so in the inner region.
Noah had been gone for hours but the man that had taken his name was still around the pit.
"So you returned," the official spoke penning something down.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Yes," Noah replied, permitting Pride to shoot forward.
They arrived at the guild hall in no time, and Noah stormed into it, unable to keep himself from holding on to his findings anymore.
"Hey Lina," Noah greeted, resting his arms on the countertop.
"Aiden! How was your mission? I believe it was successful seeing you've returned." Lina spoke while she sorted out a series of brown sheets.
"I wouldn't call it successful. But I discovered something," Noah announced and he immediately grabbed her attention.
Instantly he went on to explain the events that happened in the town and eventually it came to the description of the being he saw.
Lina looked shaken after he finished as she immediately began rushing around to make a few calls. Before she left, however, she told him the name of the thing he had seen, and it even sent more shivers down Noah's spine.
The four-eyed being of monstrous strength had been an Exalted Imp. But from his description, it was hungry since they never left their hiding place except when hungry or traveling.
In mere minutes she had informed the higher-ups about the situation, and Noah was soon required to lead them to the location of the said town.
Standing outside the guild hall, Noah stood waiting for the elders that would follow him to the site.
Soon five individuals three men and two women arrived above the guild hall. Noah wanted to ride Pride, but a consciousness wrapped around him and pulled him to the sky.
"We don't want her winding dead," Delilah's voice reached his consciousness when he arrived beside her in the dark sky.
"It's been a while Aiden," she spoke revealing a soft smile.
